wait until post-free agency and you can underpay . Downside is that the best of the best players are already taken, so I doubt it would work in the GHL. I just earned a promotion from BHL doing that (Parkville Guardians).

I checked the 16 goalies in GHL in action in game 1 of the season and... we are getting pretty old. Like King Henrik would be here just fine...

The average age is 30.5, but median is 31.5 and 9 goalies are 30 or older. 34 is the most frequent age. One goalie was 18 and one was 21 (they were the reason for not so high average). 38 is the oldest goalie in action (I won!).

Gulp, not looking too good for the Breakouts. Let's hope this is a season where we defy the odds and make it out of bottom 2.

Last two relegate and first two promote and 3th-6th play poffs to decide which two will go to play poffs against 13th & 14th in the upperleague and winners stay/go in the upperleague.

HurjaHerra got a reaction from Keskustankeisari in I just gotta love this new affiliate system.
Why would it be a bad idea? It would let us control best of our prospects and have to decide which to keep, instead of just hoarding players with salaries that lowerleague teams can't offer for eg. 5x and still paying them half the salary (5x*0,1=0,5x) than a lowerleague would have had they gotten him without you, because they were assigned to aahl.

Rest of them will never be in line with GHL. IHL will always be handicapped, because of this compared to others, since they can't offer lowerleague players like the rest and GHL teams will never have upperleague teams taking their players to their affiliates.

and why should someone keep their GHL place over somebody just because they have played longer and can hoard players from all the others?

Here's a short annoyance that I just encountered: if your main team is short a player, it will still automatically sign a free agent. My suggestion is to instead automatically promote one of your affiliated players instead.

Honestly, it sucks losing young players, but I don't think RFA's should be a thing in this game. It's already easy for good teams to build a big pool of prospects and the new affiliate teams will help in developing these prospects into really good players. Adding RFA's into the mix would let the big teams hoard the best players at supposedly cheaper prices (where else can they go as an RFA?) and make it nearly impossible for newcomers to a higher division. It's already a small problem for the oldest worlds. No RFA's make it so that teams are forced to let go of some talent for salary reasons which allows for talent to be spread out and overall give everybody a chance at becoming a good team faster.

It's a good idea, but I just don't think it would work very well in the both the top and bottom tiers.

As for your second post, I think it's interesting. I think the way the system currently works is that players are more willing to sign with a team with more reputation. I don't think a managers reputation really matters. Maybe a team getting a new manager could change that team's reputation to be something like "Fresh management" and give the reputation equal status to "Legendary" in a league. Then it would expire after a couple in-game days. I doubt it would give any major advantage that encourages cheating, but it would give that new manager that player that is slightly better and might be able to change a teams fortune.

Made a pre release to the UAT today.

    This is what's included:

    * Team card. Just like when clicking a player’s name a team card will appear on team link clicks. The card will display short team and manager info. You can then continue to the team’s page from that card.
    * Extended view of non playable leagues; player stats and latest transactions.* Adjustments of the game engine; Scoring (increased), shots (decreased), penalties (increased).* Adjustment of player development (increased)* Improvements of game play in non playable leagues.* Fixed bug where password reset could crash* Fixed bug where a team’s league position may become unsync* Fixed bug where teams could sign players even if over the salary cap This will be installed pretty soon on the official server too. But I will let it run over the weekend on the UAT to spot any bugs. Let me know if you see anything. Thanks

I'd rather teams get punished by cutting their high salary players, and they'll have no choice but to be stuck with that cap hit for a couple seasons.

#3 was added with some update/leaving beta or whatever? and it's one time only for those who lived through it. That's how Northshore moved to Harrisonville. Might be wrong, can't check since season is underway

I need to very much get back to my version of #2. I will likely do what I know of player profiles this weekend due to this reminder.

#3 should be doable. If I remember correctly, for a manager not new to the team they have to wait until the offseason to do this, under the action button when in the team menu you can edit everything with the team under the edit franchise button which is the last option.

#4 would be great as almost every day in the offseason I get about 50 messages a day regarding players I am following getting contract offers.

Hello Gore and a late welcome to Biscuit. Just by giving a quick glance of your team the statistics point to a somewhat iffy team D as your teams biggest weakness. Your PK is good, your starting goalies stats are ok but your goals allowed on the whole is kind of bad. Outside of that your team looks to be a rather solid BHL team. If you have any questions feel free to message me in the league.

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to all of this so I'll probably be browsing the forums later, haha.

I took over for the Black Bears in the LIHL and it looks like my team needs a lot of sprucing up, but that's pretty much how I like to start out anyway. This looks like a lot of fun so I'll be definitely trying to keep up with it as much as I can.

That's all from me, best of luck to everyone out there!

EDIT: I guess I should point out that I renamed my team the Fury.

Hey everyone, just joined a few days ago. Took over LIHL team North Shore Dragons, renamed to Medicine Hat Warriors. So far 0-3, with my team 2pts out of a playoff spot. Not really caring for this season though. This team has potential to compete next season with some promising prospects that'll round out my top 6 & bottom 6, and build off of the 3rd ranked PK.

I'm Balazs Szabo from Hungary. I have never played any online game, but I like the manager games very much, so I have decided to try this interesting simulation.

I'm competing in the Lower Iron Hockey League with the Torrington Thunderbolts, and after the relegation I'm looking forward to a very difficult season, because I need to learn the basics of this game, after the team rebuilding.

I wish you the best of luck for the season ahead!

    Hello all!

Not 100% new to the game (been lurking for a few months now). Started in the IHL during the season before last, so last season was my 1st full campaign at the helm of the Tullahoma Tomcats. My team has regressed somewhat from when i took it over, with most of the better players leaving for free agency after refusing to resign. But, if there is one thing in particular i have learned as a day 1 Nashville Predators fan, it is that sometimes there is addition by subtraction (looking at you Ryan Suter and Shea Weber).

Best of luck to everyone and we will see y'all on the ice!!

I'm Brian and I'm managing the Okauchee Lake Bears in the IHL.  I was able to get promoted last season due in large part to a well assembled team by the previous manager.  So now into the fire of trying to figure this game out.  Good luck all.
