Are you talking specific attributes or overall rating?  I've had 15-20 attributes increase (Passing from 87 to 88, etc.), but only 2 younger players have increased their Overall rating.  I think this is to be expected.

    Two things to consider:

    1) The worlds went from 77 to 108 days.  The timing of ratings increases should decrease for this reason.  If a player under the old world increased every 25 days, that would be equivalent to increasing every 36 days in the new world.  In both cases, the player increases 3x per season.

    2) Part of the reason for the refresh was to even out player ratings and make them more realistic (not have a GHL team where 90% of your players are 90+).  I think ratings increases have been scaled back for this reason.  So combining both of these changes, managers will start to notice much slower improvements to players.

This has been suggested and it gained quite some favor. The idea was to display jerseys in game previews and reports. This also spawned discussion about away jersey, so the teams would actually show their appropriate jersey whether they're the home team or a visitor. I'm sure it was buried at this point because of time limit. 2.0 had to be pushed out rather fast. I hope, however, that in the not so distant future we'd see this.

Ugh, I actually hate the B's jersey and therefore Paul's!  haha.  But yes, it is subjective.  I prefer to see people's jersey's that are original, give me something I haven't seen before and memorable.  I actually really like Sheshegwaning Dragons jersey a lot!  Also, it's just a fun team name to say, if not spell!

Related, I wish there was a way to incorporate our jerseys more into the game.  Honestly, other than in our signature on here and on our team homepage, does it even show up anywhere?  Our emblem shows up on the scores and recaps, but not the full jersey.  I think it would be kind of cool (although graphic heavy from a programming standpoint!!!) to see the jersey next to the team name on the Preview and Recap screens, plus in the standings.  Just a very minor opinion.

I also think that had you bothered to scroll down to the bottom of the standings, you would have loved The Elite's jersey as well!  haha.  Still miss my old emblem shown here as my avatar.  Couldn't find anything remotely close.

Debated listing these two players because I'm not looking to give them away.  They just don't fit my tactics so I'm testing the market.

Minor suggestion, but can the Reply and Delete buttons be moved to the top of messages instead of at the very bottom?  I've recently had some lengthy conversations with other managers and after about 8 or so messages you are scrolling down quite a bit to hit reply.  And if you're using a phone, forget it.

I’m a designer and tend to lean towards simplicity and cleans, concise pallets but it’s interesting to see what everyone else gravitates toward.. I will say that PaulT did a good job replicating his Bruins’ jerseys

Ohh.. didn't notice this thread here for a while.

Well thanks to Matt's pointers, I redesigned the jersey to a much darker color scheme, abandoning the orange completely. https://gameplanhockey.com/team?gpid=49-A

My preferred jerseys since I've gone through them all...

GHL: Deferiet Leopards (clean and distinctive jersey), Brass Castle Berzerkers and Missisauga Stealheads (both nice and easy to recognize)

SHL: Crabtree Defenders, Rocky Mountain House Owls (I don't mind bright if it's just stylish enough)

BHL: Summertown Sixpack (just because it's funny, yet kinda cool), Cape Girardeau Legends (Crisp and nice)

CHL: Finnegan Serpents (One of the few ones where highlight works better than shadow), Dustin White Devils (Cool in its simplicity)

IHL: Butte City Battlers (This league has more meh shirts than any other.. not sure if it's the high amount of computer managers maybe... didn't really check)

LIHL: Fillmore Hillcats, Camden Nighthawks, Torrington Thunderbolts, Ripon Scorpions (nicely distinctive color scheme and easily recognizable), Gravenhurst Hounds (the cool is here), Natashquan Assassins (just like this one for some reason), Goldville Knights (really nice and neat jersey), Harrow Lynx (simply because I think I know where the idea of this shirt comes from),

Some people like brighter, some darker and some in between.. I was looking at the jerseys and trying to think would I recognize one later. This is kind of moot as well since you tend to remember your worst/best rivalries in any case. A lot of very nice ones, but also a lot of jerseys that I think the manager just didn't care enough to put in the effort.

EDIT: I'm not big on New York Rangers, but as Matt pointed out on chat, the color scheme is not really widely represented, so I decided to run with it while it's still early. If the away jersey ever sees daylight, and I'm going to bug Anders about it until it does, I think using white base color with red highlights spiced with blue numbers and collar will fit quite nicely.

Edit 2: ET2018, your jersey looks good, but it doesn't really make me go ooooh wow! My hometown team used grey jerseys at one point and it's just really doesn't kick me as a main color. I'm just one opinion though. It's very clean and crisp, so if I learn to hate your team enough, I'm sure it's as great of a color choice as any.

Edit 3: Pullman T-Birds, I got you marked as an all time enemy. You took my old logo before I got here! Can't wait to meet you on ice. Fairplay tactic = ridiculously and overly violent!

The post that had to come eventually...

I just wanna mention give a shoutout my favorite jersey designs in each league in no particular order and then also mention some notable designs I thought were missing that extra something. If I don't mention you, your jersey probably sucks. (Just kidding, I just do not want to mention dozens of jerseys as it would take forever.)

    GHL:

Yonker Wolverines: it's clean, good color scheme and logo matches
Blenheim Pirates: The jersey really gives me old jersey vibes.
Deferiet Leopards: Colors match nicely and I am really getting a Bruins feeling off this design.
Mississauga Stealheads: it's clean, good color scheme and logo matches

notable mentions: Kegashka Prairie Stars, Scandinavia Steelers, Brass Castle Berserkers, Cedar Rapids Minutemen, Netherhill Nightmares,

    SHL:

Crabtree Defenders: Super clean and super simple, I like it.
Benacour Patriots: Idk what to say, it just kept the grabbed the attention of my eyes.
Rocky Mountain House Owls: The logo slides into the design as well as butter.
Louisbourg Lions: It's not often you see a team with a brownish colour scheme, but you nailed it.
Queenston Kingsmen: It's simple, it's clean and I like it.

Noteable: Zenda Destroyers, Englewood sabercats, Mundare Salt Dogs, East Newark Giant Strikers, Canuck Red Dragons, Pittsboro Plastic Attack, Adrian Alley Cats

    BHL:

Summertown Six Pack: It's clean and the colors go well together.
Cape Girardeau: This jersey really give me an major junior vibe, they've got some of my favorite jersey designs.

Noteable: Athabaska Articwolves, Rayne Sea Warriors

CHL: (Trying to limit myself to my favourites, this league was hard, probably because it is not yet full of human managers)
Dustine White Devils: For a busier logo, you've still managed to keep the design as a whole super clean.

Noteable: Okauchee Lake (AI), Courville Barons (AI), Macamik Marauders

    IHL:

Altona Bald Eagles: I can't say that I've see many turquoise-ish color schemes, but you've rocked the design.
Chest Springs Ghosts: While I'm not a fan of that type of logo, you've managed to work weave it into your jersey design very well.
Shebandowan Natives: I'm not sure what to say other than I really like the design.

Noteable: North Haven T-Wolves, Coulter Wildfire, Butte City Battlers Clements Badgers

    LIHL:

Fillmore Hill Cats: I thought about putting this into my natable category, however your design had me staring at it a while and I decided that was worth a bump to my favourites category. Super uncommon color scheme, but it works nicely and really pulls your eyes.

Ripon Scorpions: Jersey looks super nice and clean with an uncommon color scheme. My only complaint is that in my opinion, the name doesn't fit with the logo...

Chattanooga Golden Tigers: Colours all fit as smooth as butter.

Noteable: Manila Pacific, Cave Springs Corsairs, Gravenhurst Hounds, Dudleyville Lancers, Rogersville Disaster, Constantine Wild Cats,

super excited to see the hot fix with the FA's by the GPH adims...  this is huge to catch early as it going too keep the drafting element a huge part of the game that would of other wise been eroded to meaningless.. keep up the good work.. (hopefully a roster limit will be in the works down the road as well) thanks again.

If i may offer a suggestion about fa spawning, why not make it only unsigned prospects.  Not a lot, just a couple sprinkled through the season or only at around game 60.  The reason for my thinking is that the NHL has undrafted college free agents that become available at that time of year so it would still allow some flavour for fa signings but limit overpowered teams from snagging high-end players for ridiculous contracts

To be fair, this was occurring in the old worlds as well.  Starting around day 40, every 4th day or so, players would randomly appear in the FA list.  There was a group of about 15 managers (myself included) who would bid on them.  I was in SHL at the time and whenever a GHL manager bid it was game over.  The difference was the players were always SHL caliber players (SHL starter/GHL affiliate), not GHL starters.  But anyways...

I also agree with Steve that we can't fault the managers who are bidding.  If it's in the game it should be fair play.  But agree with the overall theme here that it should be changed because there's too many loopholes and a certain unfairness to it all.

This. Any sort of FA spawning should be kept to minimum, and timed at one certain point (start) of a season.

The most frustrating thing is when you acquire a player in a trade, and then see a better one magically appear in FA a day later.

Agree.  I'm not sure why they appear at all.  I suppose it does add some excitement to the game there's no denying that.  But if players that are randomly spawning out of thin air are GHL 1st & 2nd line caliber, we are going to end up with all star teams like in the old worlds.

I've got 2 suggestions that I hope can be added into that 20 day trade lock rule.

    1) Entry level players do not have the restriction. They were allowed to be traded as prospects before having signed any deal, it just makes sense to me that they don't have the restriction handed to them as soon as they finally sign a deal.

    2) This one only applies to mid-season free agent signings. The restriction would essentially be that any free agent signing (preferably entry level contracts excluded) after day 6 would be unable to be assigned to the minors for 20 days. If we go back to the start of Dangles, its big problem was that 1 team was essentially able to sign nearly every free agent with a snowball effect at less than most managers were offering. This was possible for 2 reasons; reputation and the minors. Coming back to when the new updated worlds were released, everybody was given an equal reputation to prevent an unfair advantage to the older managers as well as the managers that played fast worlds over slow worlds. And that worked all fine and dandy as it was mostly best offer gets the player with a little bit of random luck.

However, the snowball effect is still possible. Now that the seasons have all begun, the team reputations are shifting up and down to reflect how well teams are doing. The reputation thing itself isn't a bad idea; my issue starts with the fact that I've noticed good free agents popping up and then are snagged by better teams with better offers than some worse off teams made. To me, this is still acceptable since a free agent probably wants to go a more successful team than a team looking towards relegation. Where I really develop a problem with the system is when these rare free agents appear and better teams snag them up and then immediately get assigned to the minors. If a team plays him, fine, I have no issue, but if the player is immediately assigned its basically telling me a manager is being super greedy and signing players just so that other teams cannot sign new free agents and improve themselves. This is rather unfair for managers less fortunate at the start of the season. It also enables the snowball effect to continually exist as managers are able to assign players for a fraction of their cost and then once again make more offers for the limited number of free agents that appear mid season.

My reasoning for the 20 day mid-season free agent assignment restriction is that it prevents teams for going after every new free agent solely in an effort to prevent other teams from getting them and essentially abusing the minor system. If a team actually wants to play the player, then the restriction wouldn't really affect the manager as he/she can still do so. I suggest that this happens for only mid-season signings since there is a lot of free agent movement during the preseason and sometimes managers get 2 out of  2 free agents they aimed for while only expecting to possibly get 1. It also makes sense from a players perspective. If a strong free agent can expect to be paid millions, why would he go with a team that's going to immediately assign him to the minors and then only make a few hundred thousand. Yes 1-way/2-way deal exist, but I don't think good players sign 2-way deals expecting to be immediately sent down.

That trade was outrageously bad on a few levels.  At first I thought the CPU trade logic went corrupt, then realized it was between two managers and one of the managers quit shortly after, so it's easy to see how some might think there was something shady going on.

That being said, all managers try to better their teams via trade.  Most trades can be considered lopsided depending upon your point of view - salary dumps, etc.  I'm not sure there are too many managers here who would have rejected that trade if proposed to them, so I understand that side of it.  I appreciate & accept the explanation and don't see any cheating here.  Ready to move on.

I think reversing it was the right thing to do.  Also, as Alexander stated above, despite the drama it causes, managers pushing back against unfair trades can be a good thing because it protects the integrity of the game.  We're all competitive, that's why we are all here trying to win.  But the last thing I'd want to see happen is for managers to get frustrated and leave because of unfair trades.  That and whoever takes over that CPU team would be at a horrible disadvantage.  Personally, I think the ill will should be directed at the manager who offered the trade then quit.

To add to this as the other team in the second trade - the draft pick I traded is back in my possession, whilst I still also have the player I acquired as well. Something is indeed not right with trading picks.

Edit: As a possibly related side note - the picks still appear under the name of the previous(unedited) team in the trading screen.
