I used to have a lot of injuries as well, then I started looking at the game reports, and almost always players that got injured were feeling tired in games prior to the injury. Since that I have been keeping almost all of my players training at easy if they ever feel tired and have seen a lot less injuries. Not sure if this actually has anything to do with the injuries, but it helps me to keep my mind cool.

And on S11 topic, the downfall has started and it seems like the first few wins of the season were just good luck. Time to start doing some changes to keep getting some points and not get relegated.

I am in the need of a couple of centers and I have a goalie I can trade. I would like to be able to see quickly teams that may be in need of a goalie so I can Initiate a trade for a center. I could focus on those teams instead of initiating a trade with each team and see if they need a goalie.... I could see a list of teams in need of one.

That's what I thought earlier. Your "RFA period" is currently during the playoffs; nobody can send your guys offers but you are able to negotiate with any of your expiring players. The only exceptions are players that got way too good for your league and want to move up. Of course it sucks to lose that 80 overall 21-year-old BHLer, but realistically, he has no more business being in that league, he's far too good.

To that first bit, it sucks, but it's kind of understandable if he was an ambitious guy. The players in this game aren't completely their overalls, they also have a few personality traits that influence what they do.

As for that other line, I explained why the restrictions are more severe in the NHL. (I will be assuming that we are talking about that 80 overall BHLer.) You either obey them, or you don't get to play in the best league you can. Here players can say no thanks, I'm going where I want. If the higher leagues also "implemented" the rule, players would be forced to agree. But why would they say that they don't want that young, promising star to show to their fans? Sure you can step back and say "everything's just code and data", but that removes some of the roleplaying factor of the game that attracts many people such as myself.

    Hey all

Started today again after a hiatus for a year.  Looking at getting rid of some dead weight and starting from scratch so if anyone wants to help out with some trades, that'd be great.  I can get rid of some deadweight with no salary cap hit.

Hi, it would be nice to have notification about injuries/recoveries in affiliation teams. I just recall player form there just to realize he is injured, which I did not know about (also not for how many matches until I counted it). Since there is no IR, I'm sending injured 2W players from my A team to affiliate and I think I will not get message that they are healthy again. That would be great thing to add.

Greetings from the Desert. The Sonics have hired me to run their team. Here's to hoping I do not run it into the ground. At least we won the first game. I made a few roster moves, tough to do in the season though I would assume. Not much to pick from.    No worries here to try and have a little fun.
Feel free to send an offer or two my way, roster needed a shake up

wait until post-free agency and you can underpay . Downside is that the best of the best players are already taken, so I doubt it would work in the GHL. I just earned a promotion from BHL doing that (Parkville Guardians).

First of all, this should be in suggestions.

Second, I don't think it would work, nor do I think it is fair. If you look at what is drafted in the first round, they are generally guys that could fit into their respective leagues. Eg: First few picks can almost all play in the GHL. Why should the SHL get those players? Why should the players accept that knowing that they should be playing in a better league. If your reason is that the leagues should be equal than  I completely disagree. The promotion/relegation system works so that there is a progression of worse to best teams.  An average GHL team should almost always beat an average SHL team and the same should go for the lower leagues. And why should a player be forced to go to a team that likely isn't going to be able to sign him after his entry level expires. To me, it doesn't make much sense.

Also, the top GHL team does not get the 1st overall pick, I think you are misunderstanding the current system. If it happens to have it, then the team traded for the pick that became number 1 earlier in the season. If you go to the Youth Draft section, you can see who originally owned the pick. In case you didn't know the league draft order, its: GHL - GHL - SHL - GHL - SHL - BHL - SHL - BHL - IHL - BHL - IHL - LIHL - IHL - LIHL - LIHL. In general, a leagues first round is above the 3rd round of the league above them, that gives team a chance to draft better players that helps teams earn promotion or else have prospects that can still compete if they do happen to earn promotion. As for the order of the draft, the teams that earned promotion or survived relegation playoffs will get a lottery for the top 4 picks. After that, the order is basically from the worst team and ending with the best teams and then finally the teams that were just relegated as they likely still have a bunch of really good players.

    Hello!

As i saw several GHL power rankings, I felt that why not see what's going on a league below, this feeling combined with how I love power rankings made me to create this ranking. I calculated using erzac's method (http://forums.gmgames.org/topic/7614-ghl-s10-power-rankings/?do=findComment&comment=27461), after day 5, so right before the season starts. So here is the ranking of Howitzer SHL

As you can see, the teams relegated here have some roster problems, for the Thunderbolts I'm sure it's affecting the strenhth, but that's their team at the moment. I will be eager to see how can they cope with the lack of depth, and who can they sign so late. For me the biggest question is that can the Blue Knights' defense and star goalie win matches instead of their weakly looking offense ( or as they say Defense wins championships- can it happen in hockey also?)

Good luck to everyone, it looks like a close season, maybe only the Phantoms look a bit weaker than the others, everyone else looks to have a chance. If you want some updates, tell me, I don't know how much time will I have, but I will do my best!

It's an alright idea, but I like the way that the current system is set up so that affiliates will mirror a manager's tactics as well as allow the manager to develop players with their own training. Having an affiliate manager (one that you wouldn't even get to choose yourself) could wreck that as he might have a different idea on how to develop your progress.

If you just want to develop prospects, try the LIHL. I've found a few 21 year olds with low overalls that could still be developed, they just needed some love. I suggest the LIHL in particular as I don't see many guys signing the 50 overall players, so you will always have guys that you could potentially develop. There also isn't any relegation risk and a promotion would just mean that you've done an excellent job at developing guys.

When i started This game i were in IHL league. By studying the game and trying to understand how the game engine works i was able to raise in GHL fairly quick.

Big part why i was able to succeed is because there was good selection of players in FA, and i knew what kind of players i need and want in my team. Don't get me wrong, i have never had a team that was good in player overalls. I have always been underdog by looking only the overalls. But in my opinion this game is much more than player overalls (were). Now the Fa is full off old players and players with super bad traits. If there would be a manager who would be able to climb to higher leagues knowledge wise but he is unable to do so because there is no players left to build even somewhat decent team, why would he bother to continue playing this game? Should he wait 4 seasons to get the players he needs from youth draft? and wait 4 more seasons that they develops enough to get in the team?

Managers who have played longer should not be awarded by cost of the lower league teams.

It would be great if there would be more leagues in the future, and much more teams in one server. But making that happen we need new players who wants to stick and commit in this game for long term.
Its hard for me to think that anyone new would like to continue playing this game when they know that most likely they get ass kicked for the first 12 moths. And starting from LIHL climb to GHL looks unreal.

I really like the affiliate idea, and the fact that i can hold my drafted prospects and don't need to let them go in FA only because they weren't nearly ready in main team is awesome. But at the same time how the affiliate system works atm favors GHL way too much, i feel like i am winning by cheating now. And the fact that i cant even compete with another same league manager for FA players if he is getting the player in affiliate and i am not is REALLY negative.

Like i said this kinda feels like winning with cheats, i don't know about rest of you guys but for me this is not a positive effect.

Would be great to have a bigger community and player base for this game but its hard to imagine happening like this.

Here's a short annoyance that I just encountered: if your main team is short a player, it will still automatically sign a free agent. My suggestion is to instead automatically promote one of your affiliated players instead.

They are a vast improvement in the sense of a team can develop its own prospects. However much beyond that they kind of are overkill. A team shouldn't need 6+ reserve players like a few teams are going after. It is also pointless to have a good reserve team. That said some people find it important to have a good reserve team. It isn't a massive problem that needs fixing. It is just a nuisance for a team to hoard a lot of players that they essentially end up not using. The proposed waiver system is a way to get around the hoarding.
