  1. Early season results can be a bit crazy at times anyways.  Both of my keepers haven't played great to start the season.  They finished 2nd and 3rd in SHL last year for save percentage so I was fairly confident in them going into this season.  So far Zhutov is .875 save % and 68 performance.  Naud is .855 with 62.  Neither are even in the top 20 this season... yet.  It's been surprising since they were both playing like Hasek toward the end of last season and I thought my defense got better.

Good to see Sprogis playing well for you so far.  Actually both of your goalies are doing well.

Yeah, flocarri has had a rough start as well and he ended on fire last season also. May just be slow start goalies - guess we will find out today as our matchup begins here in about an hour - going down Paul!

    ...probably not ;)

  2. I agree, I try not to exceed one sniper per line but have seen some teams be successful with two on the wings and a playmaker or powerforward on center. For puck possession, I'd definitely try to focus on playimaking, powerforwards, and two-way forwards. Line focus may alter production a bit but not a ton. That is a strategic section dedicated towards your teams playing style. I tend to drift towards more two-way, balanced lines with an occasional scoring line or energy line thrown in. As Jusatin said - may want to take at your player roles as they effect line chemistry and production. I think even some players play better with a different combinationnof player types - lot of time to figure that out though.

  3. - Hey A13 - how do your players fit into your overall system!? I.e. A Puck Possession style has players that have sufficient enough focus on that rating to be successful within the system.

    - You nailed the spelling of Gel ;)

    - And I'd also like to know how to get my images to 8.4kb - that's exceptionally small for posting...especially working off of a phone.

  4. mid 70s guys as top prospects this season :D yay

This is all intended Guys. The original idea was not to have the average GHL team filled with 92 OVR players. Development was cranked back a touch a few seasons ago so now we are just starting to see the results of that. It's an equal playing field in the end...and then maybe we can finally get the average down near 85 rather than having 8 Crosbys twirling around out there...

  5. Pretty amazing manager.... manager of the year for sure!

I'm skeptical that this is his first time here. I've never seen a new manager, in this game, go from zero to hero in that short amount of time.

  6. Wanting to finalize the re-structure from last season by moving my 22 YO Center, Oday, and a passing wiz (98) in my faceoff-taking forward, Soskin. Looking for picks or prospects.

  7. YES, we did it! I'm shocked we made it because all the odds were against us. Going into the last match we were tied in points but we're sitting in 10th due to point differential. We had to win and also have Lake St. Louis either lose or go into extra time. On top of that, I made a crazy big trade before the game leaving me with a new goalie. For whatever dumb reason I decided it would be a good idea to start the new guy. He got owned in the first period and after my veteran replaced him, after 9 shots against, it wasn't looking good. All other games against the Wild Wings resulted in losses for us this season, and by good margins - we were not favored to win at all....but in the end we score a season high 7 points to win...and Haradrim's TopCats got forced into OT. What a crazy end to the season. Now it's time to prepare for getting spanked in round 1 of the playoffs!

  8. Hoping to make my first ever GHL playoff appearance but it's going to be a tough one to get into. With my team seemingly falling apart and the veterans rallying their teams at the end of the season; these last few games are going to be clutch!

  9. Coach Thor Viklander's speech after the Black Flag secured their stay in the SHL after a 5-0 game 2 win:

"Congratulations, you guys did it - you can all stay on the team! Except Seeger, Juarez, and Neskarov; you guys didn't have a choice. Alright now let's get ready for tomorrow's big game three finale where none of you will be playing! Great job everyone!"

WHISPERS TO ASSISTANT: "Ok, so I left you that beard and fake belly suit so you can play me tomorrow - I'm heading to Hawaii for some vacation, see you in a couple weeks..."

  10. Still confused...had an OK winning instinct for the first half of the season...it recently declined to a WEAK winner instinct. I moved one guy down to the minors but he was just on my 4th line. I only have 4 anxious players and 1 nervous on my whole team and the guy I sent down was not a captain and only a STABLE player. Anyone have thoughts on that?

To give you the breakdown of the entire playing team, these are their big game traits:

    Nervous: 1

    Anxious: 4

    Stable: 9

    Determined: 2

    Heroic: 2

  11. With an assist by Elite who beat Wolf Pack, knocking them out of the 8th and final spot.  Elite is also back in the GHL playoffs for the first time in three seasons after barely surviving relegation last season!!!  Hope I can follow up on your stellar work against the Vandals, my first round opponent and always tough playoff team!?!

Nice work! That's a great feeling after being on the verge of relegation. Good luck in the post-season!
