Does fatigue reset after the preseason? I am thinking about not scheduling a preseason game on the final day of preseason so that my players aren't tired to start the season.
Fatigue doesn't reset.

Marauders are indeed a strong team set for a long time.
I figure Stray Cats have 2 seasons of cup chasing before turning into a retirement home. Even so, there's a solid young core to build around.

League AVG team OVR: 90,4 (Last season 90,0)
League AVG team age: 28,2 (Last season 28,6)
*=Team promoted from SHL
Edit: Change from last season in parenthesis.
Calculated on day 5 of S15, using:
Team OVR = (OFF + (DEF x 2) + (SG x 2))/26
where
OFF = Combined overall of 12 best centers/forwards
DEF = Combined overall of 6 best defenders
SG = Overall of starting goalie (best overall goalie in team)
In case of a tie for team best ovr skater, career performance rating for current league level was used as a tiebreaker. After that games played on current level, and then points.

Personally, I haven't given much thought to reputation when drafting.
Mostly I pay attention to how players have progressed in their past season(s), as well as their performance and stats. There are sometimes prospects that look lucrative on draft day because of overall etc, but might have very slow development, and in the worst case never be ready for a roster spot.

Failure to lure the most sought-after FA Tadros to St.Thomas was followed by the busiest offseason to date, bringing significant amounts of talent and veteran presence to the Cats.

We all help each other so its normal to see sometimes trades that help more a team then a other one. I promess that we play fair.
Just to comment on this point here - multiple teams working together for the benefit of a single team is not fair competition, separate managers or not. If there is a closer bond between managers, like family, it can't be a factor in trades.
While probably everyone agrees helping out family members is a great thing, in competitive online sports manager games that help should be limited to giving advice etc. instead of direct aid, for example biased trades.
tldr: For reasons of fairness towards other managers, "family" is not a valid reason to base transactions on in a game such as this.

There's probably always at least a small chance for any team to get a player signed, no matter the rep or amount offered. So when there are 10+ teams offering a contract, it's likely a rather small % to end up in any particular team.
-
Anyway both offers are insane.
I actually think 6,5 is a very reasonable contract for a player of that caliber (10M is pushing it of course). For what it's worth, I think all top players should make 6+ million as a rule of thumb. Of course we're very far from that atm.

Let's get this thread going.
For starters, I edited a brief video about one particular FA signing.

Guess there are other factors than just money...
-
Playoffs are here and contract extensions are happening again, so I'll keep at this.
Today in Biscuit GHL 9 players signed an extension - 7 of them took a pay cut.
A highlight from that bunch: 22yo, 96ovr d-man, on an already cheap contract, is fine with an extension that lowers his salary by ~16%. Why would a young superstar coming off a good season ever agree to something like that?
-
Depending on some game results tonight, the last playoff spot(s) may be decided by the last game of the season between Cats and Grizzlies, with the possibility of a spot being on the line for both teams.
Another magic number: Of all the current GHL teams (that have been in playoffs in the past), Stray Cats hold the enviable record of the longest playoff drought, with the latest (and only) appearance in S7.

Near-deadline acquisition adds veteran Richard Fahy to the Cats blue line. Fahy should provide a boost to the already clicking special teams, as well as bring more shutdown ability to the d-core.

Are tactics still increasing in the right direction?
Indeed they are.
-
The progress turned around at 17th game from changing, now it's going back in the right direction.
-
Still ongoing. The tactic that I've used for the past 16 games has continued to drop, and just now dropped to yellow familiarity. Started at very high blue.
-
As Crosby was mentioned, another interesting example is Malkin. Obviously a very talented center as well as successful statistically. However his career FO% is 43,6.
Not every center needs to reach a high faceoff rating. Agree on the fact that some centers would be better listed as forwards.
-
-
Currently experiencing this same issue. Tried a new tactic for about 10 games, didn't work so I went back to the old one. The old one has now been in use for ~10 games, but still keeps decreasing, while the tryout tactic keeps increasing.
-
Another annoying result from the bloated overalls is that players are an indistinguishable mass.
As 99 marks the best of the best, currently in Biscuit GHL there are:
24 world fastest skaters,
11 world best passers,
14 world best shooters etc.
And if you'd think ~95 is "elite" in a category, then basically any player on any given team is "elite" in something. Which shouldn't be the case obviously.
-
And there are lots of "Yu" types out there that aren't going away anytime soon. At least this year's (and last's) draft looks more human.
Here are the notable 25yo or younger GHL goalies I could find with a quick glance.
Vojsovic, 20 - 89
Malette, 21 - 95
Cook, 22 - 90
Fricker, 22 - 94
Koivula, 23 - 95
Senko, 24 - 96
Strass, 24 - 95
Yu, 24 - 96
Keehan, 25 - 90
Ormsby, 25 - 94
These guys will be in the game for at least 10+ seasons. And they'll get even better still. Also, there seemed to be no immensely talented 18-19 year old goalies around.
-
Have you tried your top line as Two Way? If they aren't scoring and are giving up goals, I'd assume it can't hurt. Maybe break up Chov and Ryz and put one on your 2nd line (Scoring).
Also you mentioned you changed OFF tactics this season so your team probably isn't that familiar yet. I'm sure that can't help offensive production at the moment.
Don't know which other line would carry the scoring if that line won't get going. Not that they're getting it done either, in the past 10 games I've scored more than two goals only once. Which happens to be the only game I've won in that stretch.
I did change, but the old tactic wasn't working either. I'm changing back tonight to the more familiar tactic as well as some line and role shuffling. Something has to work eventually.

Oh snap, good catch
There might've been a slight error there. It's fixed now.
