  1. I'm kicking things off!

    Looking for:

    • 1st line winger with either excellent shooting or passing
    • top6 defender with good traits

    Willing to part ways with:

    • 1st round draft pick
    • 2nd round draft pick
    • Valentyn Pogrebinsky (2nd round draft pick S14 - promising defender)
    • Anyone not marked UNT

  2. Yep, Pohorelec and Honda with 91 OVR and only 36yo. Bublik was not loosing any skills at 40, but at that age, I would understand it. Muller was too young to retire. I think Boller and Hartig are losses to their teams as well.

His overall did not drop, but his endurance did drop almost 20 overall during the season and he got to blue fit after one game. I think it makes sense he wanted to retire in his prime.

  3. It is a sad day for all of the hockey community in Biscuit. At the age of 40 - rated 95 overall - Artem Bublik has announced his retirement. He has arguably been the best goalie in the world, having a save percentage of .90 or better every single season since the world started. Bublik broke in to the league at the age of 26 during season 1. He was criticized due to his small size, but right from the start he showed the doubters that his size was actually part of what made him so great. His athleticism was out of this world and his reflexes were some of the best we've seen, even during his old days. He might have been bit of a lone wolf, but aren't all goalies a little twisted, he was still loved by his team mates who will be sad to see him go.

Here are some stats from his career:

    Golden Cup Victories: 5

Regular season best save percentage: 5

    Best Goals Against: 6

    Most Shutouts: 6

*These stats don't include season one.

Here are his stats from during his time in Biscuit:

Although some say his age began to show during this last season and he couldn't play more than 1 game in a row, he is still going to be missed by the fans of Breakouts, and for sure the rest of the hockey community here in Biscuit. When asked about his retirement plans he told us he was going back to Ukraine and start his own goalie camp there, who knows if we'll see more Ukrainian superstars in the future!

Thank you Artem Bublik and may the pucks be ever in your glove!

  4. Some players are just greedy, which is good!  But now, most seem too cheap for their own good.  The whole point of contract negotiations is for a player reaching their peak, either in skill or ego, is they SHOULD ask for more.  I'm not sure how the engine works or if it is just based on individual player's requests.  It'd be cool if I offered a 90ovr player $3M a year that suddenly all the other 90ovr players start thinking, hmmm, maybe I should be getting that too, etc.  That is probably more difficult than coding individual players and likely why we have the current situation, but now it is too easy to keep an All-Star level team in GHL and then back stock players in the AAHL that should be GHL starters or too expensive and in the SHL as a Star.  I'd be all for a 10-20% cap reduction in the GHL.

I like this route and actually proposed it way back in the beta days, but for some reason the common consensus was against it. I feel like it would add another level of realism in the game if players acted like they do in the real life (he's getting that much so should I -attitude).

  5. No real key matchups tonight as the schedule tends to favor the top half teams, so anything can happen.

I beg to differ! The match between Breakouts and Grizzlies could seal the results for both teams. If the Breakouts win, they won't get relegated automatically and Grizzlies wont be able to make it in to the playoffs no matter how the last game of the season goes.

  6. The end of the season is not looking too bright for Breakouts. 3 games remaining, 5 points seperating us from certain relegation and I'm against the 1st and 2nd teams in GHL (Protons and Rebels). Here's to hoping we get the win and make sure we have a shot at staying in GHL.

  7. I play a puck possession system with players that have high passing and puckhandleing skills. Our puck possession is averaged at about 51% per game. How do you know what a players focus is? Is it the role assignments? I base my lineup off of the fact that I have $0 in cap space and all my other players are below 75ovr. But I do have a respectable team, I have 5 81+ovr rated players and the rest are 76-80 they all have good passing and puck skills and most are assigned as role to sniper. Will almost all players being assigned to sniper affect the system I play? And will the line focus affect that also? And is there a way to train my players endurance specifically? I am very annoyed by 1 defensemen he is always tired after 2-3 games. Good to know about gel.

You cannot train a specific talent. They will train in endurance as they play (if they haven't capped it out yet). If you don't want him to be tired so fast you can ease his training or have him play less minutes per game.

About the sniper thing, it could be it. I have had a rule of max 1 sniper per line so they don't "clash" with each others.

  8. The first 20-25 days are crucial. As long as the confidence isn't perfect any team can win from any team.

Saw this really clearly last season as I got a great start. That was a large contributor to me making it into the playoffs eventually. Let's see how this season goes!

  9. Looking for 3rd/4th line center and wingers, who can kill penalties and have a good size to them. Willing to part ways with prospects / picks.

    On trade block:

Jensen, 88ovr goalie that can make it as a GHL backup or bona-fide SHL starter.

Signed prospects in affiliate. Feel free to send offers.

  10. Looking for vet fwds and centers idealy for 3rd and 4th line pk players.

You might want to include your team in the signature or in the post. Right now we have no idea who you are :)

  11. The Breakouts are for the first time in franchise history officially in the GHL playoffs! After my last post the team decided to drop the ball big time in the next 3 games losing all of them in regulation. Last game of the season and we really needed a W, against the tough Vandals. Great effort from my top 4 defenders and we managed to beat the 3rd place Vandals 7-4.

Management had set the goal for the season to stay in the GHL, trading away all of the draft picks for this years draft and it really seems to have paid off. Exceeding all expectations we're fighting for the ultimate price. Now the real struggle begins though as we have to face the league leading Mines Pegasus, team we only managed to beat once during regular season. Let's see what the young group is made of and best of luck to all teams in the playoffs - in every level of the world!

  12. So suddenly when the season seemed to be lost and my team dropping all the way to 14th place after a 5 game losing streak we have taken a turn and gone 6-1 during the last 7 games. And the last three games have all been shutouts with both goalies taking turns in the net, goal difference being 15-0. Seems like my guys really want to make the playoffs first season back to GHL. Hope we can keep this trend going when facing Protons next game!

  13. There's much more to a players value than just his overall rating. Thus I don't think the suggestion would work as is, but I like the idea of somehow limiting the trades with computers when it comes to having it be a win-win both ways of the deal.

  14. Glad to see I'm not all the way at the bottom, gives me hope that maybe this is the season I don't drop back to SHL immediately. Although ovr doesn't tell the whole story, hopefully it gives some guidelines of how the season is about to go!

  15. Another year in GHL and couldn't get any players during the first FA day so here I am.

    Looking for:

    1st line FWD

    2nd line C / FWD

    3rd line C

    4th line C

    Top 6 defenders

    Willing to give up:

    Assigned players

    Prospects

    1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks

    Hit me up!

  16. After another incredible season in SHL The Breakouts have made sure to get promoted back to GHL. Winning 28 of 31 games (28-1-2) with 4 games remaining on the season and a secure 24 points lead to the 3rd team in the SHL the management can be happy. Now it's time to start the Christmas sale.

Everyone who is not untouchable is up for grabs and basically goes away for free. Don't want to take dead weight with me to the GHL. Just send me an offer and I'll see the deal go through.

  18. I got plethora of World Star potential young defenders, not looking to trade them this season, but for the right offer I could see myself considering moving them. Mostly looking for equivalent young (under 24) soon-to-be superstar forwards.
