  1. It's really only up to the game world speed. If you play on lighting, be prepared to miss stuff when sleeping. If on slow you have plenty of time between games. Everyone just has to figure out which speed suits them best.

  2. Season 3, missed automatic promotion by 1 point

Fun playing against almost all of you (bouncer, rainsilent, jusatin) the past few seasons!  See you on the ice again soon!

Yeah that was really close at the end of last season! :D Waiting for you to join our party in the GHL next season ;)

  3.

Nice friendly we had today, only PPG for both teams lol :D Guess I did something right during FA and pre-season, my PP really sucked last season. Hope the simulation for friendlies is the same as for the real games, if so, this is looking rather good.

  4. So, we've been having this following idea with my friends for a while. Being able to easy and quick compare players to each other (without all the hazzle and math it requires now) so I threw together a few scetches for a "compare players" suggestion".

First up is the compare screen itself:

So in the compare screen you can have 2 or more players, with their ratings or basic info, contract etc. laid out next to each other. Stronger stats / better contract are being highlighted in green and worse in red with the differense shown in numbers in between. If more players are added that 2, then the color will cut halfway through the player block.

When you click the add player button, it takes you to the following screen:

There you first select the League, then the team and finally the player you want to add to the compare. (Could also have a hotkey for your own team.)

Also second option for the compare screen could be their stats laid out horizontally, where you could then sort them stat by stat by clicking the stat name at the top. (A bit like you see now in your roster screen, but with only the players you've selected, and being able to sort).

So, what you think about the idea? How would you implement it? (I know the pictures aren't the best, just something I threw together in 20 mins.)

  5. FA

New prospects are added to the Free Agentsy at the end of every season. Veteran/high overall players are "added" from not signing a new contract with their old team / 1way clause etc. So, no new high tier players are added mid season (unless the total ammount of players suitable for a league drops belov 5).

  6. Managing the Buckingham Bluebirds in the LIHL. Been playing in Biscuit since the start (4 season). Looking to make the playoffs at the end of the season with my quite young team. Will be hanging around.

  7. At the moment only playable leagues are the Northern American ones. With the launch computer controlled European leagues were added, but they are not ment to be played by humans, at least not in the near future.

Will pass on the different language sub-forums, but cannot promise anything.

  8. I'll go first.

I got promoted from SHL to GHL for the second time last season. This time around I have a much more complete team after getting a good FA again and filling almost every role I had in mind going in. Most noticeable signing was the 86 overall powerforward Daniel Lindsay who I scouted at the end of S3 to fill up my first line to withstand GHL demands. I did some really big cuts in my players at the end of the last season to keep my prime defenders in, as well as my young forward prospects, who might lack some talent but make up for that with enthusiastic appearances in games. I'm hoping a good growth from my two young defenders (Vandenbusche and Sommelius) as well as my 1st line playmaker Gates.

My biggest fear is that the unsuccessful run in GHL from S2 will happen again. I lost ~20 games straight and my team just wasn't ready for competing in GHL at that time. I also hope my team doesn't face long 35 day injuries like happened in SHL because we're just not ready for that this season. Compared to S2, my defense core is a lot better, as is my forwards so I believe I'll stay in the league this time. That's my main goal, not having to go to relegation playoffs, anything above that is a plus but not necessary. Also it's important to finish above my biggest rival, the fellow SHL promoted North Shore Shoremen.

Waiting for hearing from you guys!

  9. So, time to light up this forum as well!

Season 4 is about to start with 3 days of pre-season games. Tell a bit about your team, your strengths and weaknesses, did you do any big signings from the FA, what are your goals for the season and how you plan on achieving them. (Also if you want, include some story from your earlier seasons..)

I see a lot of people playing our world, but no one is talking here in the forum, let's change that.

  10. Sounds like a good idea. There is a change coming to the playoffs later on already, since the current system isn't the most fascinating (spent the last playoffs not playing one game [2nd place in SHL] in the slowest world, so couldn't play for almost 2 weeks). Friendly games or other ways of adding more content to non-playoff teams are something to take a look at imo as well.

  11. So, at the moment we are able to train our players with either offensive, normal or defensive focus. I feel like this restricts the choices we can make towards training our players to fit our team.

I feel like adding some depth to training would really make you able to build your team just the way you like. The idea I had in my mind goes as follows:

You are able to still set off, normal or def overall training guidance for your players but besides that you are able to tell them to focus on one particular trait (skating, shooting etc.) during their training. This could be set per player basis, or by groups (centers, forwards and defenders or goalies). This way you could for example have defensive defenders with great shot, or fast playmakers with good defense as well. This focus could be set for time being (as it is now), or it could be set for x number of games (5/10?).

I think this would go great with the idea of you being able to build your own team just the way you like it. (And it would also go great with the line/individual game tactics that are going to be implemented later on.)

    What do you guys think?

  12. Looking to trade my top tier players for young prospects. Going through a rebuild so basically anyone over 25 is up for grabs. Offer me what you have and ask for what you want! (Also bouncer, any players in my team you'd be willing to trade for?)

  13. Hi,

Here's few ideas I've been having:

    Compare,

Being able to compare players skills quickly and easily. When you are in the lineup-menu and are about to change a player you automatically open both the current and the new players and comparing the stats side-by-side.

Also you could compare players in the transfer list to your own players. (Posting quick pictures later today when I'm back home from work)

    Line-specific tactics:

Is it in the plans to be able to change attacking and defending tactics line-by-line basic? F.ex. you could have your 1st line be dumb and chase, your 2nd line crash the net and your third line puck possession? At the moment you cannot really have too much of diversity in your team due the fact that if you want to have one physical crash the net line, there's really no point in going for small and skilled players in rest of your attacking lines.

    New tactics:

A bunch of new tactics, f.ex. behind-the-net. Here you would have fast wingers with good puck handling and passing skills and a pwf or sniper in the center spot with physical and shooting skills. (As far as I know, could be and probably will be wrong, this isn't an option at the moment since it doesn't really fit into dump and chase nor crash the net tactics. It closest to the puck possession tactic but not that exactly either.)

Also are goalies so highly appreciated on purpose? I mean almost every week all the three stars of all the leagues are all goalies. Not that there's anything wrong but was just curious.

That's all I can think of at the moment and would like to thank for all the hard work that has been put into GPH!

    Cheers,

    Jussi
