  1. Can you post the box score/scoring summary? This would be possible under 1 circumstance. All of the player's points were scored on the power play. PP G/A do not count toward +/-. Then that player would have had to be on the ice for all opponents goals. If that is all true, then the player would be -3.
  2. Stats can be deceiving because of the different leagues. 100 points in the Canadian League is much more impressive than 100 points in the Swedish league. I'd probably lean more towards player development and also factor in Current Overall Rating, Traits, Height/Weight & Injury History.
  3. A few more losses and you will be out of the bottom 4 in the GHL... and into the top 4 of the SHL! But all joking aside... I have noticed that in some of my wins, my opponent has outshot me/controlled possession - and vice versa with some of my losses. But if you track the game flow, it "might" be due to team focus. I'm assuming many teams go Offensive/Very Offensive when losing, while teams play Defensive when winning. Especially if you take a lead early, this could explain why the shots would be lopsided in the losing team's favor. I'm guessing that when you play defensive, you get outshot, but your opponent gets less quality shots/chances. Also I've found that some tactics just work well against others. My win % over the last 4 seasons is pretty damn good, but there is a certain offensive tactic (which I will refrain from mentioning ) that always gives my team trouble. And tactics might also come into play with the possession stat. Puck possession teams will (or at least should) control the puck more than say teams who implement transition rushes. I'm sure both styles have their advantages. Just a few things to think about. Then again, I've found a few games results that are just totally random and make no sense from a pure numbers perspective... but that type of thing also happens in real life. For example the Tampa Bay Lightning are the best team in the NHL this year. The Ducks are the 10th best team in the west and out of a playoff spot... but earlier this year, the Ducks beat them 4-1.

Whoa. Craziness! In a matter of days, Kantarik was traded from BHL to SHL, SHL to GHL, then swapped GHL teams. I'm sure he's pumped to be in GHL this season, but his head must be spinning. I'll be following to see how he does in GHL this year.

Good win - and congrats on the promotion. I tried to see how my team would play if I went to a defensive style and made most of my lines two-way. The lack of offense makes sense, but it made no different defensively. Back to my original set up it is. Sorry about the injury... I didn't play dirty... promise.

If anyone in GHL (or promoting to GHL) is interested in Emil Kantarik, shoot me a message. I'm not trading him to an SHL team because I don't want to play against him, but I feel like he's asking too much money for the SHL cap, so don't think I could keep him. Player link: http://www.gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=33977 PROS: 88 overall + has been improving 1-2 ratings/year (improved silly season and should be due for another soon) 25 years old Good size 1st in D points BHL (by almost 20), 3rd in overall points, 1st in overall +/- Rarely injured, played all 60 last year and every game this year (totally just jinxed him) CONS: Traits aren't great... he's a diva Asking for 3.35M salary Best case scenario: I trade him now - or sign him for next season and swing him to a GHL team. Worse case scenario: I sign him and keep him next season. I definitely don't want to give him away.

So true. Today I lost to the #11 team in a shootout... but that point secured promotion. The Leopards are headed to the SHL! (*finishes last and immediately gets relegated back to BHL ) Good luck in the final 4 games, Brent. It's a great race for 2nd between you and the Eagles. I apologize in advance if I beat you tomorrow. ... but if you win, you might actually have a shot at first considering I've lost to the 3 remaining teams on my schedule.

The bottom half of the BHL wasn't all that competitive last year, so the win % for the top 5-6 teams was a bit inflated. The Troopers and Panthers both broke BHL records last year for points... they both had insane seasons. But yeah, 50 wins and I was the odd team out. Crazy. The BHL is much more competitive this year, top to bottom. Better in so many ways.

I was sweating out today's game. The Eagles are a well managed team. This might finally be the Leopards year to promote after being a BHL regular for the past 9 seasons.

I'm not in Clapper... I'm just here for the 80's Metal.
  11. I've seen different opinions on this so the best advice is to try out different combinations and see what works for you. I would think that for a Checking line you would need some combination of Power Forward, Grinder, Two-Way. You'll probably want players with high Physical and Defense attributes. For Energy you would need mostly Grinders and maybe an Enforcer or Power Forward. You'll probably want players with high Spirit...and maybe Physical/Skating. For both of these lines, you also may need Tough/Agitator type players, but not sure how much that plays in. * The statements above are purely educated guesses and not concrete facts. ** I have never been able to roll out a productive checking line. Good luck.

I would almost put money down that I will not end up in 1st place. Almost. I'm going to limp toward the finish line this season (again). A few days ago my 2nd best forward got injured for 9 games. Today my best forward got injured for 10 games. I have 7 players who are 81+ and 3 of them are injured... At this point with 9 games remaining, I need to hope either you or the Eagles drop a couple more games. I hold a 3 game advantage on the Eagles with the point differential tie breaker. Things would have to go horribly wrong for me to miss out on promotion... but it happened last year, so...

Sorry for the late reply... I was on vaca for a week. The Leopards definitely took it to you last week - however we have just commenced our end of season slide out of the top 2 spots. You have been on a tear since. We have one more game against each other and I'm thinking it may decide 1st/2nd place in BHL. Good luck the rest of the way... you have a pretty damn good team, especially for just promoting from IHL.

    Suspensions

This is amazing (more-so to think about than to actually put in the game)! Another variation of this would be another training option. Easy, Medium, Hard, PEDs. With the "PED" option having a greater chance of long term injury.
  15. Been thinking about this more. I'm for the IR designation, but also feel like it could be exploited. For example, if you have a player on a bad 1-way salary, you shouldn't be able to put them on IR as a way around it. So I'm thinking the IR spot works with some variation of the following rules: 1) Player MUST be injured in order to put them on IR 2) Player must remain on IR for a minimum of 5-10 days 3) IR does not totally relieve the player's salary - a portion of it (anywhere from 25-50%) should still count towards the cap I feel like that would give managers some relief without allowing them to exploit it.
  16. Initially I was in agreement with the "it's your fault" comment... but after thinking more about this, an IR designation with a minimum of 5-10 days makes a lot of sense. Injuries seem to be very random, and usually you can make some wiggle room by having a good amount of 2-way contracts, but if multiple players with larger contracts get injured, you should be able to call up players instead of being totally screwed. Even if a certain portion of the players contract counts towards the cap while on IR, 10-50%. This would be especially helpful for long term injuries. I've seen a few 30-40+ day injuries, which can really crush a team.
  17. That's freaky because my 34 game injury came literally the day after I mentioned in Biscuit chat that I was somewhat lucky this year with injuries. Watch what you say!
  18. That explains it then since PP goals don't count toward +/-
  19. Ouch. Bad line changes for sure! Only a guess here because of all the shorthanded time on ice I notice... were all your opponents goals power play goals?
  20. Literally every stat was in my favor. Every single one. LOL. I get the rematch and chance at retribution today, so we'll see how that goes.
  21. I like this idea - and it would be really cool to be able to send a message along with the trade rejection. To be totally honest though, I tend to message managers prior to offering trades to see if they have any interest. Most of the time, if you are serious about trading and not just tossing a bunch of trades against the wall to see what sticks, you can negotiate via message, then submit the trade. And when other managers throw trades my way that I don't like, I always send a message afterwards explaining my decision. Which I think is good for 2 reasons. (1) it will (should) prevent the same manager from offering more trades back to back, which I have seen happen and can get annoying (2) it may help negotiating a better trade, rather than each manager counter-offering back and forth 10 times in a row, which I have also seen happen.
  22. Looking forward to your update. I've read that it takes more than half a season to get used to a new tactic, so I've been afraid to change it. Never have.

    Shootout Lineup

Just wanted to bump this suggestion as I think it would be a great addition to the game for many reasons. In looking at stats from Biscuit, 23 BHL games have gone to a shootout this year. Checked GHL as well and the number of SO games was 21. We are 22 games in, so that is 1 per week per league. For the higher leagues, the point differential is always very tight, so shootout wins/losses can have a huge impact in the final standings, which could be the difference between making/missing the playoffs, top 2/bottom 2 promotion/relegation, etc. Suggestion #1: the ability to edit your shootout lineup. Suggestion #2: tracking shootout goals, attempts & percentages (much like face-offs) on the player stats screen to see success rates... for both players and goalies would be amazing.
