You bring up a great point. I suppose if the top 5-6 draft prospects are that much better than the players who would go 7-16, I might consider tanking to get that stud player. But being in a Slow world, I put more emphasis on short term. I play to win. Always. If there's a chance I'd make the playoffs I'd go for it and try to pull a few upsets.

Congrats on the series win, BFG. Not too many teams have been able to tear me up for 5-6 goals consistently. Good luck against those GHL thugs.

I've seen teams auto assign players to IR before in Biscuit when the manager was on holiday. Only reason I noticed it was because I was tracking the specific player.

Not trying to throw shade here because I'm sure the manager was actively trying to accomplish this feat, but the Finnegan Beasts of the LIHL have successfully become the first team in Biscuit to finish 0-0-0-60. After finishing 1-0-0-59 in three of the four previous seasons, the goal was finally accomplished. I assume that is extremely hard to do, especially in LIHL. Congratulations. (I felt this needed some attention)

If you don't activate a player within 5 days of returning from injury the player is automatically placed on waivers. I'm sure this is put in place so people don't abuse the IR function. If there is a claim you can always message the manager directly, explain what happened and see if they would be willing to remove the claim in good faith.
