I agree with the contracts not being very clear in that perspective. He should be with the club for another year up until the same day that he signed the year before. That being said, Anders has recently announced he is working on a new salary system. So more news to come! :-)

Maybe toss in some mods to check on CPU trades and accept/reject them as per 'League's decision'. Anyway it's not easy to trade with human managers as well. Not many managers are up for it or ask the impossible. What I did notice is managers not wanting to trade for players they need and if they got traded with the CPU, they suddenly start trading with the CPU to get those players... And that's usually arranged within the first days. Coincidence? I don't think so. I mean that's kinda frustrating in many ways. I had that a couple of times in the past now; without calling any names.

Hi, I didn't find a topic regarding this but I've heard some people asking about it. 'Will there be a yearly increase of the salary cap for every league like in the NHL?' Players are getting better and asking for more and every league will be evolving as well. It's going to be a challenge more and more to get a decent team and stay under the salary cap. So maybe there's a possibility to add an increase of the salary cap every season? Or every 2-3 seasons? Any thoughts?

Kiss, Ashcraft and Amri have been traded and my cap space is looking good for now. The only player that I might consider trading is Holden (see info in previous post). In return I'm looking for a top defender and or center/draft pick.

Thanks Steve. I had some injuries in our game so I had to switch some lines. They were not my preffered lines but I had not much of a choice, I think. I'm going nuts with switching some players to get the best chemistry for my lines.

You have some very good points my friend. Unfortunately we will never know how that would have turned out. I changed my defensive tactics about halfway last season. I'm never changing anything about those tactics again, that's for sure. Im not thinking about relegation but it's not fun being last, of course. We'll see how it goes. I'm not someone who gives up easily but this is just frustrating and really not fun to play anymore. I'm losing every game with a very good team and outshotting (almost) every team as well. Even with a 90 OVR goalie and 91, 88, 88, 87, 87, 82 and 81 OVR defence I'm the worst team in the league... All the work I've put in this team over the last year is apparently for nothing as it seems I'm going to the SHL with this top ranked team. Well there won't be any players left if I'm going down. So if that happens I'm probably going to quit as all the fun is sucked up by then. My team is currently almost fully adapted to the defensive tactics. It's in the green and I would say about 85% now.

Getting really frustrated about this. If it keeps on going I'm quitting this game. This is really unrealistic in every way.

I changed my defensive tactics halfway last season. It turned out to be good in the end and I haven't changed anything since then. It's not that I want to win every game but it's starting to annoy me the way I lose every time. Every season starts miserable for me but this season it's the worst I had. My team is better every season so it's unclear to me. If you look at the skills and traits I should not be in this position and certainly not losing the way I did so far. My player's traits for instance. There is only 1 player that has 3 in orange/red. The rest of my team has none, 1 or 2 in red/orange (traits). My defence has never been this good and yet I am one of the worst teams with goals against. Even with a goalie of 90 and my defence. Currently dead last and this is a joke to me. Makes me wonder how random the game engine is. And to top it all of I lost 2 players with an injury for 5 days in my last game.

Another day, another loss, another game I've outshut the opponent. It's a bad joke and getting tired of it. All with a team I should easily be in the top 5. I have serious doubts about the game engine to be honest.

Ortiz, the irony. Underperforming with me and now the best performer in the league. I know, we're in this together. I think this game is more random than we think. Traits and ratings don't have the effect like they should or we think they should.

@rainsilent: Top players yes but apparently that doesn't matter. I'm trying to understand what is wrong with the performance of my goalie for instance. When I sign or trade for players I also try to get the best trait/ratings possible. Even with the team I have, I'm currently losing and can't even manage to get a regular win in the first 4 games. If I compare myself to other teams and see how they perform over the last 2 seasons, I'm disappointed.

That's a good thing. @bouncer: I understand but at this point Kiss is the only defender I would consider to trade as I need to think about my salary cap as well.

I'm not convinced tbh. The player should also look at the experience of the manager as this can have it's effect in negotiating the contract. Next to that the player also should look at the reputation and position of the team in the league. If the player has more chance of winning the cup vs being relegated, he should ask for less/more depending on the situation. There are a lot of factors to consider and not just similar players in the league. Just my two cents.

So Mitts is too fast for me, changed to Howitzer with the Miami Lords in LIHL.

Decided to manage a team in Mitts, BHL. Miami Lords is my second team now. GL everyone!
