    Hi everyone,

This topic is created to talk about season 9 in GW Biscuit. Post your experiences, predictions, and everything you want to share about this season.

After 2 days in GHL there are 2 teams unbeaten: Scandinavia Skyhawks and Moapa Valley Gothic Knights. CPU team Collegeville Rhinos is currently in 3rd place with 1W and 1OTW. Will the Rhinos stay in the GHL?

Today is the 3rd game of the season and there are some very interesting games coming up. I'm looking forward to these games:

    Minutemen - Trojans
    Grizzlies - Protons
    Volcano - Rhinos

Minutemen, Trojans, Grizzlies and Protons are all top teams that have been in the playoffs almost every year now. Volcano is currently in a 2 game losing streak and needs those points at home against CPU team Rhinos. To be continued!

    Hi

    First, thanks for offering!

I'm still developing the game on my own. However an old friend of mine (@Glawing on this forum) is helping me out with both advice and some future marketing strategies. But as of development the team is still one man strong =)

Actually, it's not the first time I've got this question and I'm overwhelmed with the commitment shown by you who play this game. Thanks a lot! I've always meant to be open for others contributing but I always thought I'd just finish the next feature first. In order to let others contribute I need to get things enough structured to avoid code/commit chaos. It shouldn't be a problem though, I already have all the right tools and knowledge but it will take some time to set things up I guess.

Let me do some more thinking on how to best approach such a scenario. Meanwhile, all of you interested in contributing please send me a resume of your background and coding skills. Either add to this topic or send me an PM. Preferable skills include MVC .NET, CSS, Javascript and experience with document databases (NoSQL).

    Hey,

i'm not sure what email address to use to contact Anders so i'll just write it here. I would like to help you(Anders) or your team(not sure if you're still developing this game on your own) with game development. I really enjoy this game and have all kinds of ideas in my head. Also there are tons of ideas from other players. Another thing is UI, which is quite bad so i could rework it. I don't expect a reward, i just want to help speed up the development of new features and improve the game. That should attract and more importantly retain more users.

What do you think ? Is a codevelopment possible ?

Blue Jays 2025 Off Season Report

The memory of yet another early playoff exit at the hands of the hated New York Yankees is still fresh in the minds of most Jays fans as the team gathers in Florida with Spring Training about to commence. The 2026 Blue Jays are going to have a very different look this year as a number of faces have departed as free agents and some new blood has been brought in. The Jays starting infield was pretty much decimated by free agency as 1B Cesar Melendez signed in Boston for 5 years and $99,500,000, 2B Chris Goodwin inked a 4 year deal worth $69,600,000 with the San Francisco Giants and 3B Stu Daniels signed a 5 year deal with $109,400,000 deal with the Atlanta Braves. With their departures the Jays had a shoping list heading into the off season and GM Ryan Stewart was quite pleased with how things turned out.

    Blue Jays Off Season:

    1. First Base

The Blue Jays would fill the hole at first base by agreeing to a trade with the Oakland Athletics. The trade would see SP Gus Price dealt to Oakland in exchange for 1B Dave Johnson.

    Players to Oakland

SP Gus Price is a 25 year old right handed pitcher who was a former supplemental 1st round pick of the Houston Astros back in 2020 out of Denver High School in the USHSBA. He was traded to the Blue Jays in 2023 by the Miami Marlins in exchange for SP Steve Sampson. Price was 3-10 with a 4.49 ERA with 47 BB and 89 strikeouts for AAA Buffalo in 2025. He has yet to live up to his billing as a possible middle of the rotation arm at the major league level and a change of scenery should do him a lot of good.

    Players to Toronto

1B Dave Johnson is a 26 year old former 3rd round pick 79th overall by the Oakland A's out of Georgetown University in the NCAA. He hit .438 with 1 HR and 6 RBI in AAA for the A's this season but struggled in 100 games with the A's hitting just .212 with 4 HR and 19 RBI. Johnson didn't get a lot of regular playing time and most of his at bats came as a pinch hitter. The Jays are hoping that with regular at bats he can put up some better numbers at the MLB level.

    2. Third Base

The Jays made a bit of a splash during free agency landing 3B Bo Bichette to a 7 year deal worth $75,000,000. Bichette isn't an All star by any means and did struggle last season with Pittsburgh (.221/.335/.328 with 12 HR and 55 RBI) but did produce a WAR of 3.7. He also led the majors with 94 walks last season and is a gold glove caliber defender. He was signed as insurance and will likely split time at third with 3B Jesus Valdez unless one of the two absolutely runs away with the position to start the season.

    3. Second Base

The Jays were quiet on this front during free agency. We like our depth and will give them a chance to show what they can do during the Spring.

    4. Assistant GM

We have a contract offer on the table for a new Assistant GM but as of the start of Spring Training nothing has been finalized as of yet.

    5. Other Moves

GM Ryan Stewart was quite happy to add MR Dylan Bundy on a 1 year $1,300,000 contract. The 33 year old is coming off a down season where he suffered through injuries with the Pittsburgh Pirates and was only able to pitch to a 5-4 record with 1 save and a 5.98 ERA with 30 walks and 69 strikeouts. He still has great stuff with a 93-95 MPH fastball and he was brought in to add a veteran presence and is a great bounce back candidate. He has not won 10 games in the majors since 2023 with the Nationals but GM Ryan Stewart believes this could be a major steal for relatively no cost.

The Jays also added another power arm that is a reclamation project in MR Jacob Bukauskas who signed a 1 year deal worth $1,000,000. The 29 year old can top triple digits with a 99-101 MPH fastball but has struggled a ton with command. He was 4-10 with a 7.14 ERA walking 61 and striking out 101 in 103.1 IP with the Texas Rangers last season. He made 16 starts for the Rangers last year and we intend to have him pitch out of the bullpen where his stuff can be a very dangerous weapon.

    Rule V Draft

The Jays 40 man roster is full so they were unable to select anyone in the Rule V draft but they did lost a pair of players in 1B Cesar Garza and CL Jesus Sosa.

1B Cesar Garza is a 26 year old former 3rd round pick 95th overall out of the University of New Mexico back in 2021. He hit .322/.385/.527 with 23 HR and 114 RBI with AA New Hampshire last season. I am really kicking myself for not protecting him and was hoping that he could sneak through but he was nabbed by San Diego with the 6th pick in the 1st round.

CL Jesus Sosa is a 24 year old righty who was signed as an International Free Agent out of the Dominican Republic for $750,000 back in 2018. He was 11-8 with a 2.50 ERA walking 28 and striking out 138 for Advanced A Dunedin. The 24 year old has a big arm with a fastball that can touch 96-98 MPH.

    Waiver Claim

The Jays would lose 1B Chris Daniels on waivers when he was claimed by the Kansas City Royals. Daniels was placed on waivers to make room for newly acquired 1B Dave Johnson. With the aquisition of Johnson Daniels slid down to #3 on the depth chart and we thought we might be able to slide him through waivers and stash him in AAA.

For some reason this thread popped back to mind. I figured I'd provide a brief update:

2021 the Potters earned a promotion to D1 2022 won 101 games in D1 and earned a quarterfinals berth. Lost in 4 games to the eventual champ. 2026 returned to the playoffs and made it to the finals, losing in 6 to the Canadian Narwhals. 2026 began a series of 13 consecutive playoff appearances for the Potters, a Williams league record. 2029 Potters won their first (and to date, only) championship! 2038 final playoff appearance. Lost in the semis. 2041 finished the season 77-85 and lost a relegation ladder match. And that brings the Potters up-to-date. Current in-game season is 2043. The Potters are still in D2 but are vying for a promotion berth. We'll see how it goes!

KFGO Radio Sports: Tyler Baines Bison Sports Talk

Earlier tonight the semi-finals of the Summit League matched Western Illinois against South Dakota State and North Dakota State against Denver.
Western Illinois demonstrated why they were the class of the league this year by steadily pulling away from and downing the Jackrabbits 68-55. SF Calvin Thomas scored 15 for the Leathernecks while the games top scorer was reserve guard Chris Kerlin for South Dakota State. Kerlin finished the game with 16 points.

The Denver Pioneers and our local Bison team split their 2 regular season games with both teams winning on their home courts. SG Derrick Williams came into the game averaging 17.4 ppg for Denver. Surprisingly though, Williams didn’t start for the Pioneers. While Denver’s coaching staff was mum about this surprising action, there was a rumor Williams was benched for his post game comments after the Pioneers 1st round victory in which he made derogatory remarks about South Dakota’s guard play.

The refs saddled the Bison with 6 team fouls in the first 4 minutes of play, sending SF Brandon Tracy to the bench with 2 fouls. The Bison were called for their 7th foul a minute later, sending the Pioneers to the line for one-and-ones early. While NDSU held a small lead throughout most of the first half, the fouls proliferated allowing the Pioneers to move ahead late in the half and take a 38-32 halftime advantage. Reserve SG Kelsey Brown was the top scorer for the Bison with 7 points while SG Dionsio Houston dropped in 11 points for Denver.

Early in the 2nd half, the Bison fell behind by 13 points. The Bison gamely hung in and gradually whittled away at the lead. With 3 minutes to play they trailed by just 3 points. Neither team could score after that, but with 23 seconds remaining, NDSU called their final time out. A 3-point play was set up but David Miller’s shot was far off the mark. The Bison pulled down the rebound and worked the ball around before Evan Williams drove to the basket trying to score and get fouled on the play. Neither goal was successful, but Brandon Tracy muscled down the rebound and fired it outside to David Miller who put up a desperate 3-point shot with 2 seconds on the clock. The balls went off the backboard and into the net to tie the game at 62-62 and send the teams into overtime.

Denver scored 7 points in the first 2 minutes of overtime while the Bison were held scoreless. NDSU scored their first points of the OT with just over a minute to play but then trailed 70-64. Another bucket by the Bison was too little, too late and they fell by the score of 71-66, ending their season.

The difference in the game ultimately was fouls and free throws. Reserve PF Evan Williams led the Bison scoring with 10 points. Bison starters combined for just 25 points. SG Dionsio Houston led all scorers with 18 points. The Pioneers C Joel Blake hauled down 11 rebounds.

Now let’s hear from callers. First we have Norvil on the line. What you have for us, Norvil?

Norvil: The league oughta fire those refs. I think they were being paid by Denver.

Tyler: Next we have a frequent caller, Buzz:

Buzz: Yeah, I agree that we got robbed tonight, but overall I think we have to look at this season as a big turn-around for NDSU basketball. The team finished with 16 wins which is more than double what the Bison were recording in each of the years before Coach Bolton came to us.

Tyler: Thanks, Buzz. Here’s Al from his ranch:

Al: Damn, I really thought the Bison could pull off 3 wins in the tournament and make it to the Big Dance. Guess we have to wait until next year now.

Tyler: Yes, I’m pretty sure they won’t get into any of the post-season tournaments even though they have a 16-13 season record. Finally, here’s Sue:

Sue: I attended all of our home games this season. Our starters did pretty well, but I was particularly impressed with 2 reserves. Evan Williams and David Miller came in and put points on the board nearly every game. I expect they will get more playing time next season and together with Brandon Tracy, James Hall and maybe Kelsey Brown, could give us a solid starting lineup in the coming season.

Tyler: I agree that this year was a huge improvement for the Bison and has laid the foundation for more success next season. Hopefully, Coach Bolton can bring in at least one recruit who will be able to step right in and help lift the team to the next level.

    Hi everybody,

We have a new American football management game at https://www.football120.net

It has a unique league system which you always guaranteed to play against a human manager, not some meaningless bot team.

You can watch the games play-by-play live, accompanied with diagrams and live stats.

Two league games per week. For other days, you have intra-squad scrimmage games where you can evaluate your players against each other.

For each game, you can set detailed tactics for each unit, role and player.

This is not a fantasy league game, no pay-to-win features, no unnecessary details like stadium expansion, ticket prices etc.

Transfers are done through blind auction. So you are not glued to screen at the last minute, nor rich teams outbid you easily. In addition to this, even though players have many attributes, neither of them visible. So it takes careful observation to succeed at this game, and at the same time, you can always steal a very good player out of nowhere.

Chris reacted to mib666007 in Fantasy Basebrawl - Online Baseball/Fantasy Game Hybrid
I apologize if this was an inappropriate place to post this but I figured this site is the bread and butter of players(er hrm, managers) who appreciate deep strategy games.

I am currently in the process of releasing Fantasy Basebrawl - a Hybrid between Baseball and well, Fantasy Games. For those of you familiar with the Blood Bowl series - it is a similar concept except not turn based games/board game style. The games play in real-time and much of the emphasis of the game is drafting teams(similar to a fantasy draft in MLB The Show) of randomly generated characters of differing races, classes and alignments. Games are real-time and use real time scheduling(IE a game a day). The games are processed hands off but manager input can be used for lineups, training and coaching strategies(such as when to attempt base stealing.)

Here is the typical information I share -

      Welcome to Fantasy BaseBrawl
      Trailer

    URL : http://www.fantasybasebrawl.com

    What It's All About?
Fantasy Basebrawl is a Baseball Management game with a twist - It uses traditional fantasy races such as Orc, Elves and Humans as they clash in real-time games. Draft teams in real time. Compete in real time. Setup management strategies and compete across epic seasons with intelligent AI opponents or your friends(and foes!). Multi-Leagues are supported for a single player and managing multiple teams across both public and private leagues is encouraged! Create your own leagues and invite your friends! Nearly 10,000 custom logos to collect and utilize for your team or salvage for scrap. Classes and Races synergize completing literally unlimited potentials in season drafts. Create a team that can mesh matching race, alignment and laws as much as you can while respecting blood lines and patron choices but beware - Other players are drafting against the same POOL on draft day! Setup your draft preferences ahead of time or stick around in real time as your team is up to pick! For the first time in Red Shade Games history - there is a fully automated Playoff system. If that's not fantasy enough for you, each team receives its own personal adventure-mode to explore during the course of a season with powerful artifacts to unlock and enhance your team. Brawls take place on the bases and allow some bending of the rules from time to time.
It is very micro-community orientated compared to other games. YOU can create your own playground League and invite your friends to join via E-mail or ingame. Each league has its own instanced forum that only league members may utilize. You can customize your League in a variety of ways such as limiting the number of games or lessening the time between playoff games. Competition for Seasons use an m-ranking style system that allows users to compete across each other even if they are not in the same public league. Purchases within game are limited to expanding private content for your own leagues only.
How was this game thought of?
For those of you who have stuck around for a while, you may have remembered I've attempted a Baseball game a long time ago called S3 Baseball. This is far different than that but I've always been a fan of Baseball games as they meld wonderfully with management games. It's also no secret I enjoy fantasy games and have created such with Godwars or the unreleased game Immortal Moon. This game could easily be a true and strong vanilla baseball game with the statistics and system it uses but I wanted to make it more unique than simply a good baseball management game.
      How was the game balanced?
Much of the game design was written down far ahead of any actual programming complete with a board-game style manual. This helped layout the foundation of a balanced game. Much effort was put into balancing pitching vs batting vs fielding vs stealing bases and the way the 5 attributes of players interact. In terms of what players are good at becomes second nature when you get used to the way classes work.
      What else should I know?
Much effort was put into the media aspects of this game. A professional voice actor was hired to deliver over 60 unique lines of dialogue during the course of a game. Monster sounds and voices were purchased for drafting and other uses across the site. The background image of the game was hand designed by a private artist to invision Fantasy Basebrawl.
How much time do I need to spend on this game?
The game is very hands off. The most involving aspects involve LIVE-DRAFTING(if you choose to) and adventure-mode. There is many large pauses - especially when a season begins to allow the leagues to fill up or give players time to setup their draft choices. You can also train players or change coaching strategies even during a game. For the most part, your job is drafting a good team and developing that team during the season. You can change lineups and even pick up free agents but largely games play themselves out. Watching a game live is a great way to pass an hour and a half or so though! Complete game stats and season stats will always be available complete with sortable headers of information.
      Where can I read more?
      http://redshadegames.us/doku.php?id=fantasy_basebrawl
      When will it open?
      11/25/2016.

Chris reacted to GM Games in [Wolverine Studios] DDS: Pro Basketball 2017 Dev Diary #1 – New In-Season Features
A new basketball season is right around the corner and so is the latest version of our highly acclaimed pro basketball sim Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 2017. We brought you a few developer diaries with the last version of the game and we’re going to be once again highlighting some of the new features for this year’s game. We’re kicking off the dev diary series with a look at some of the best new stuff you will find while playing out a season. Additional diaries will highlight the all new Matchup Maker feature as well as the expanded historical play. If you missed our announcement about the game and trailer video you can view it here.
    SCOUTING
One of the most exciting parts of the game is of course the college draft. We’ve added additional running draft commentary again this year but the biggest addition comes in your pre-draft work options. We’ve added 12 scouting regions across the United States and the rest of the world for you to assign your scouting staff to. In order to get anything but the very basic information prior to workouts you’re going to need to commit some resources around the globe.

Depending on the amount of resources you commit to an area you also may get additional emails during the year from your scout staff on a player they were impressed with. Review your emails prior to the draft workouts or use the in game notepad to keep your own notes on players you may want to target thanks to the heads up from your scouting staff.

    LINEUP TRACKING
Every general manager today craves as much data as possible whether its advanced stats (we have those) or cameras in the arena to track how fast players move from spot to spot (that’s not a feature…yet anyway) – the bottom line is information is king and we aim to bring you as much as possible to make your decisions. Introducing lineup tracking – a new feature to the series this year. Lineup tracking will keep track of every single lineup combination you put out on the floor and allows you to analyze how each lineup is doing.

The biggest strength of this new feature is that it gives you one more tool to understand your team. Maybe you find a certain combination of players that seems to perform well together and you adjust your lineup matrix to get them more minutes together. Maybe you see that an offensive superstar is actually a negative to your team unless he’s playing with defensive-minded players. You might learn that the team winning games because a player was injured wasn’t just a fluke but that there’s real statistical data to back up that he’s a better fit. The possibilities of what you can learn and then also tinker with because of the data are endless.
    MENU IMPROVEMENTS
We have always made it a priority to give you an interface that made you forget you were playing a text-sim game so for this year we’re building off of last year’s UI overhaul and added a few touches here and there to make it even better. The most noticeable is the team menu bar across the top of the screen. Now changing screens from team to team is a simple click away instead of having to scroll to a drop box and scroll for the team you want.

We also realize that with the additional coverage the game received last year that we brought many new players into the fold and that jumping into the game might have been a little overwhelming or that things took some getting used to. That’s why we’ve started an in-game FAQ section to provide some tips to new players as well as serve as quick reminders for our grizzled vets.

    PLAYER PERSONALITY IMPROVEMENTS
Player personalities are a big part of the game (if you choose – you can still turn off this feature if you like). Nothing is worse than finally thinking you have it all together on paper to win a championship only to be derailed by some personality conflicts on the team or even by a moody player in general who has decided he’s not giving his best effort.

We’ve made strides this year to limit the number of incidents you are presented with while increasing the importance of handling a situation. We’ve also added additional feedback this year so that when you’re answering questions from the media about a player or reviewing an incident report that you get a better understanding of just exactly what the impacts were of the actions that happened.
    NEW GAME OPTIONS
Injuries are also one of those things in life that can derail a contender and we know that sometimes not everyone likes things to really be as realistic as they are so we’ve decided to give the control to you this season with our new injury factor. Want a league where everyone can play without fear of injury? Go for it. Want to see how much fun it would be for the injury report to be an injury novel? Crank it up. We’re leaving the choice up to you for each league you start.

We’ve also added some new options when creating your league. If you’re going to start with the 2016-17 rosters you’ll have the option of starting with players actually being injured as they are going into opening night or reset the league for everyone to be healthy (we’re looking at you Philly fans). We even are offering the chance to start with a blank historical slate so that your favorite franchise isn’t dogged with years of championship envy.

Bison Fall Out of First Place

Last night NDSU’s basketball team went on the road to take on last-place IUPUI. The Bison deployed a devastating defense throughout the early stages of the 1st half, allowing them to open an eleven point lead. But in the last 5 minutes of the half, both their defense and offense fell apart letting IUPUI creep back into the game. The Jaguars tied the game with 2 minutes to go in the half. NDSU escaped with a razor-thin 28-27 lead going to the break.

But in the 2nd half NDSU’s abysmal shooting together with numerous turnovers led to their undoing. IUPUI pulled away to a carve out a convincing 56-43 victory. That lowered the Bison’s league record to 5-3 and dropped them into 3-way tie for 2nd place. Western Illinois took over first place with their 6th straight win. SF Brandon Tracy (10 points) was the only Bison to score in double figures. He also pulled won 9 rebounds.

Following the game, Coach Bolton said, “It was disappointing how we fell behind in the 2nd half. We have to work on consistency and developing a killer instinct. But give the Jaguars credit. They got us out of sync in the 2nd half and continued to apply pressure until the end of the game.”

Chris reacted to Ohgr in American Football Management Sims - No step forward
    A comment!

It has been in the 90s when textbased managing sims appeared on the screens of enthusiastic sports fans worldwide, where everyone was able to jump into a role of a general manager of their most favourite sports.
Games like Front Office Football and others where made by evenly enthusiastic developers, diving deep into statistics to shape their games as close to reality as possible. No other sports than American Football allows such a deep simulation with numbers alone.

But today, it seems the genre especially for American Football has been stuck in the past. Although I appreciate the improvements in terms of depth, I think it is about time to see improvements on other aspects of these kind of games. After almost 20 years being with textbased games, my eyes start to bleed. For a new player into this genre, the games must feel like a clusterfuck of ugly user interfaces.
It is the year 2016 and there are no more excuses to not pay attention to this. The only game that looked okay to my eyes was Bowl Bound College Football. But it wasn't really adding something towards the feeling of being the head coach of a college team.
Another point that makes me go crazy is the lack of passion of the developers to actually show the matches in any form of animation. While rugby and soccer games nowadays are displayed with some rough 3d animations it is a real rarity to even find an offline sim that displays the game in some sort of moving dots or triangles or whatever. Although there is DDS Football 2016 trying to do that, it breaks the immersion more than it adds something to it, since kickoffs/punts and drops aren't even shown. But there is some hope. A game called "Pigskin Empire" (a relatively old game) did this very well (they didn't do much well, though). You create your own plays and the engine simulates the whole game with life playcalling if you wish.
So please, dear developers, it is 2016, you can do that too. You have proven to create games with alot of details in terms of numbers. Now it is time to improve the immersions the players can experience. And I'm looking especially to those, who will release another football game within the next 12 months. It's your turn to move this genre a step forwards.

    Conclusion:

My perfect American Football Sim ... This is how it would look like for me:

    - The depth of Front Office Football 7
    - Graphics like the Draft Stage of DDS:Pro Football 16
    - Post Game/Draft/whatever interviews that may influence your reputation and influence sales of tickets and stuff
    - Create your own plays
    - Practice plays
    - Animated games on gamedays making you feel the weaknesses and strenghts of your players and team
    - Of course the beloved features that allow us to play online

Just signed up for an account today - long-time sim game player and commissioner. I run several leagues in various sports over on my website (simsportleagues.com) and figured I should sign up & maybe get some networking going.

I've been running online leagues of various types since 1999 with baseball via OOTP probably being the longest string but also have run hockey leagues using APBA, FHLSim, Simon T and FHM 2 and football leagues (mostly FOF with some PFS in there as well). I tend to most enjoy - and therefore run - historical or historically-based leagues.

Currently I have an OOTP 17 league (Dugout Wizards) currently in 1987 after starting in 1979 (on OOTP 14), a Fast Break Basketball College and Pro league in the 1994-95 offseason that started in 1981-82. That one's been a lot of work since I add the real recruits to the college league each year to keep real players in the pipeline. I am working on starting up a Simon T Hockey league to cover the NHL/WHA era starting in 1972-73. We're seven GMs short of getting that one going.

I also run a couple of Action PC leagues - one hockey (1964-65) and one basketball (1957-58) and participate in another Action PC basketball league that's in the mid 80s (1985-86 right now).

    Thanks for reading!
