  1. EXXEO - this team has long history of CPU team bullying real managers (I recall season when it was in good GHL playoff spot as CPU managed team), but most of its power comes from Nicolas Senet, who made some good trades and some shady trades (ended up being banned), he tried to take the team again, but after relegation he swapped for a stronger GHL team. Don't worry, I think somebody will rape the team again to take away all the good guys
  2. I noticed yesterday that the affiliates (AAHL) play games slightly before my league (GHL). It looked like it should be possible to transfer players between the two teams to have 2 games per day. What would that mean? More training, more fatigue or just the last game counts?
  3. HurjaHerra - that actually might happen At least I consider first 7 teams as playoff teams, maybe not in the same order, but close to it. Then Violet Volcano should be in, although Senet's back with the ex-Moapa Valley team, which should be really dangerous combination.
  4. I checked the 16 goalies in GHL in action in game 1 of the season and... we are getting pretty old. Like King Henrik would be here just fine... The average age is 30.5, but median is 31.5 and 9 goalies are 30 or older. 34 is the most frequent age. One goalie was 18 and one was 21 (they were the reason for not so high average). 38 is the oldest goalie in action (I won!).
  5. Thanks for this. I see that even with the goalie degradation, my team is still good to go. Although my preseason games do not show this
  6. Same here in Biscuit: http://www.gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=4071 I put him in my affiliate last season, but did not signed him for this season. He was signed by different team in SHL, but now he is present in both teams. My AAHL affiliate and SHL team. Not sure what will happen when the season starts...

    Trades S9

Anyone interested in trading prospects and picks? I'm not so much interested in trading signed players (I do not want any, maybe only move Hentges http://www.gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=3537), but most of my prospects are not fit for my my plans, so I can move them for very reasonable return (meaning, if I like it, I can loose the trade meter) - for other prospects or picks. Multiple assets trading possible.
  10. Minutemen are visiting Protons tomorrow... game of the day for sure. My second center is out and my scoring was pretty low recently, but we are confident against no. 1 team!

    Trades S9

Season 10 offer from Protons: I want to/need to send away one of my defenders: Sergey Maksudov - http://www.gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=4966 27yo, 91 overall, last year of contract ($2 780 000), last season he did pretty well - 78 performance over 60 games Ilyes Devera - http://www.gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=4143 35yo, 89 overall, 2 years of contract ($3 120 000), last season he was my best player in performance - 79 over 60 games Looking for return decent 3rd/4th liner for my team that is good powerforward or grinder or enforcer (ideally two of those) and is under cheaper contract. Obviously price for Maksudov si higher than for Devera, mainly because of age. Maksudov is highly skilled player in best age, while Devera is old, but still can do a lot. I can take prospects of picks in return as well. Also many of my prospects are available. Some of them might be available cheaply. Let me know of you are interested.
  12. Matt, I like the ideas and summary/redirection from the hateful thread that is locked now But I would like to reply to Anders last post there: You say you don't have enough time and there is plenty of other business to take care of. In my point of view, the AI trading can be improved, but it will be very challenging to achieve level, where almost no exploiting is possible. You improved it, I agree, but still there are many trades recently exploiting AI teams - for example getting 1st overall picks for bunch of useless players (and with development of players and cap limit quality always dominates over quantity, so most N for 1, where N>3, trades is abusive. Period. So this needs some special rules - like disallowing trades where on one side you have more than 3 extra assets, but on the other hand, such trade might be ok in Human-Human trades in special cases - new manager trying to get decent lineup, or team that is promoting/descending. In these cases also the type of contract for the players is crucial! And those aspects of trade no AI or trade-meter can fully implement. Also you need to improved trade-meter - most of GHL assets have same, excellent trade value, but they are not the same. AI will hardly observe all the differences like enormous salary that somebody is desperate to dump. Also, many managers said that the picks and prospects value is not right. So, the values and trade meter has to be upgraded - basically constantly. Because I noticed there is quite big difference if you do trades in season 1, season 7, season 20 etc. - the player pool is completely different between those seasons and the trade needs change (at beginning you need high overall players, you don't know talent yet and you do not care about salary cap, then you need to observe more talent, then more cheaper players and finally better traits). And with all these programming-wise challenging improvements, I still believe one can find a loop-hole to abuse AI teams. It won't be easy, but possible. Then, it will be about skill of people, but it will lead again to some angry discussions between managers as one will disapprove it, one will envy that he doesn't have the time/skill to find the loop-hole, or that he was too slow to offer the trade to the new AI team... It might be good solution to try to ban AI trades (at least in one world) until you find a balanced setting of rules for AI trading, because that will take a long time and you should also test it and wait for reaction from managers. If you do not want to ban the trades, start at least with what Matt pointed out - rule out the picks and prospects from AI teams in trades and rule out trades where you have more than +3 assets on one side (but only for AI teams). Also make the AI teams to reject more offers if they do not need more players (ie. they have the lineup filled and some backup players, so injury cannot make a problem for them). If they have 3 goalies, they will not accept player for goalie trade to get 4 goalies... and its getting complicated again. See what I mean? Such trade (player for goalie) might be completely ok and not causing the human team to be better, but it will make AI team unbalanced and the new manager taking over this team will have issues. Exactly as you said - this is not only abusive in the way that the human might unfairly make his team stronger, this also make the AI team weaker for new human user. Also no trades, FA signings and contract extensions for user on holiday. If I cannot login for some time and I will be back soon, I do not want the AI to make any changes, my absence is only temporary and in most cases no changes are needed. Sorry, long post
  13. EXXEO: Yeah, underdogs sometimes win big Let's say your goalie had a very bad night. rainsilent: yup, it is not working... but from the thread about trades, I noticed that someone is using report button even for trades that took place season ago. I would suggest required fields about what trade/cheat and why before someone can submit the report.
  14. Still 31 games to go and you are only 5 point behind playoff spot, Steve. Don't give up I think the last two places should remain the same - Redington used to be a great team, but having half of the team 35+ and basically without change since S1, this cannot work any longer. Scandinavia was raped many times, they don't even have a chance. Otherwise - everything is pretty much open.
  15. FTW - well, it was long time ago (so no point in going into argument about this), but you can check the season (it was S5) - it was your first in GHL and the other team was long-term CPU team from SHL (you traded him also in S4, when you were in SHL). He relegated, but he was human own only briefly in S3 and then during S6 in BHL.
  16. FTW - what was your previous team? The trades should be still in history, so everyone can check. I'm not sure what is rainsilent referring to, but I can say that Moapa was mostly legit team - almost all your top player are form FA (btw. good job!). There is only the trade for Wax, which was trade with CPU that you clearly won.
  17. Well, I did not say you are repeatedly doing this, I only commented this one trade. And I know you don't trade much. But again, what you are saying only proves the point - 83 overall, how many of those are in your lineup right now? Only one... so basically you gave 3 scratched players, signed mostly for long time, with total salary of 4.9M, for top liner in great age with salary of 5.3M (still reasonable for such top player). You added two useless prospects (2nd and 3rd round picks) and 1st round pick (the only thing that has some real value in your side of the trade), but this will be most likely bottom 6 pick - and trust me, I had plenty of those picks - there is really really small chance of getting player like Ryzhanov with this pick and even if so, it will take many seasons to get him to 93 overall, while Ryzhanov is ready to play top line now and also for next 10 seasons. Just saying. I pushed the report button, but I do not want to do anything else. This is not up to me. I made similar trades in the past and I'm not proud of it. My benefits from those trades should be gone soon and I hope for the future this issue will be solved. I know it is tempting to trade with CPU (I was in UAT with only 4 human teams in, so we made tons of CPU lopsided trades to be competitive between us four - and that was very bad habit!) To my knowledge (and I'm here since prototype), CPU trades were always allowed.
  18. Steve - yes, I assume Anders can see that, but I also assume he has real work, he is developing the game engine, all new features... and you want him to go through every report in 6 game worlds? That would take him a lot of time from important stuff. My suggestion would be - disable Human-CPU trades completely. Keep the report button, but only with mandatory fields, where you need to explain what trade/action and why you consider cheating - that will discourage such jokers, who can now only click team cheat button without anything and leave it be. The reporting message has to be read by moderator or Anders and first approved before any action is taken. I know this means to "employ" some people within the game, which with couple of hundreds managers looks pointless, but this game is very good and I assume the numbers will grow soon.
  19. FTW: Well, you basically answered your question: "also because I need to clear some Cap Salary..." This problem is not that you paid much (it was only quantity for quality), but that you got superstar (number 2 forward in this whole game world) for players that are basically useless for you, but nicely lowered your salary (exactly as you needed). I pushed the button and as this was clear to me, I did not wanted to ask you - no answer from you would change what I think about the trade, it would be lost time for both sides. Try to get similar trade for Chovanec - you will see the answer from Trojans. Might be laugh, might be polite no, but clearly NO. Unfortunately, the CPU takes quantity for quality if this is better in the trade meter. That is why any trade with CPU, where many players for few, means very suspicious trade.
  20. Steve, your trade was ok. If trade is between two managers (with no complete newbie), then it is almost all the time ok - the trade meter will take care of bad trades. Obviously there might be small portion of trades where the two know each other (or it is multi-account) and one team aims to boost the other, but that is also easy to recognize (and I don't think somebody like this is in GHL/SHL right now). The more I think about it, the more I am for complete ban of trades with CPU teams. Easy solution (if you are only human in your league level, get a friend or leave for different world - it is boring to be alone anyway). Only CPU-CPU can be allowed. Over 90% of shady business is Human-CPU and report button is also dangerous as it seems to me that one gets message when it is pushed without any human cross-check that it is not just angry click from team that lost to you (why someone wanted to push it for you?). This will make this game so much better and cheating is usually the critical point of such type of manager game - either you can solve it and you have most of the managers happy and clean, or you will fail to deal with it and the game is ruined for many. Also I wonder - are there any reverted trades? I noticed that Rhinos are now again CPU as the new "manager" got a lot of reports, I assume, but why the hell aren't the trades reverted? If somebody takes over of a team for a week, makes 10 CPU trades and then is banned, those trades should be automatically reverted - no questions asked.
  21. Well, I'm not the one who should point out to unbalanced trades here, so I don't. Basically if I see human-computer trade that is unbalanced (many players on one side), I report it. That's it.
  22. I don't, but record of 325-17-12-54 is pretty impressive.
  23. The CPU Rhinos are pretty brutal. Want to see them against Minutemens and Vandals.
  24. I think my top line RW is made out of glass He is always injured and usually once per season for long time (10+ games). I can really confirm that in this game there are more and less injury prone players.
