    Season 4

Well three cups in a row is no coincidence. Well played I'm probably going to rebuild the upcoming season. Most of my top players has already peaked and if I haven't won the cup by now I don't think I'm ever going to without making some real changes.

    Season 4

    Obviously not =) Impressive!
  3. For all of you currently playing in Game World Howitzer please take the time to introduce yourselves. What team are you managing and what league are you playing in?
  4. Hi, I would love to include national teams. But I can't say when because it hasn't highest priority at the moment. The next releases will include youth draft and affiliation teams. But this next release will also include non-playable european leagues and teams so maybe it can be squeezed in or included shortly thereafter.
  5. Rainsilent is right. The constraint is there to prevent cheating. In a perfect world we wouldn't need it. But I can agree with that it sometimes gets in the way. Maybe I can come up with a better way to prevent cheating. I will have this in mind for upcoming releases.
  6. You've got a point for sure. But I also know numerous examples of teams in the NHL that have been forced to trade players with one year remaining of the contract because they didn't want to lose the player without compensation at the end of the season. In those cases teams accepted less in return than the player might have been worth. I have updated trade value to only rule one year contracts as a bad situation if the player is supposed to ask for a significant raise after the season.

    Season 4

I think I jinxed my team in the previous posts. Almost got everyone on my first two lines injured and have been in a slump ever since. Down to 7th place and haven't won many games recently. Now everyone is back so let's hope for som big W:s.
  8. The player trade values are now somewhat adjusted as of v1.2.2-beta. In addition you are also able to view the biggest pros and cons of the player's trade value on player page and transfer details. That will give you a hint of how the player is valued. In your example above I don't agree with the fact that the player in question has a bad contract length. No, the player won't likely grow but he has established skills for his league level and the salary is quite good. But your example gave me valuable information and as of the latest update the contract situation has less impact and it here should less players valued to excellent trade values. Thanks once again.

    Season 4

Let's hope you manage to avoid relegation at least. I noticed that you have quite many unhappy players. It might be a good idea to offer them a new contract to improve their game performance. At least you have a lot of salary space =)

    Season 4

Victory against the Legions and up to 1st place! :-) Maybe this is my year after all. I've got a good feel for the team so far. The newly acquired Manzo seems to be the perfect playmate for Monigui who almost is putting up points in the same manner as in the first season when he won league leaders in points. Also happy to finally land goalie Dailleboust from Northway Ghosts after long and hard negotiations
  11. Great feedback. I agree that to many players have excellent trade value right now. I'll also will check your examples to see why those players are rated equally. Thanks a lot. This is exactly the type of feedback I'll need to improve the trades feature.
  12. Totally agree. Awards and hall of fame is a must somewhere down the road

    Season 4

Great, let's not give the championship to the Legions this season too! ;-) If you could give him (Clist) enough ice time it's going to be exciting to see how he develops. My 18 year older winger Montminy went from 76 -> 82 last season. He's ready for some heavier responsibility this season for sure.
  14. What happens if you log out and then back in? Make sure you log in from the GPHM forum page.
  15. Great to see you here Peter and congratulations on the World Class reputation! Have to admit I didn't have a chance in the finals last season, but at least I won one game =)
  16. Good idea. It's noted. It could be a little tricky to show the starter goalie on the game preview since you don't know when the opponent switches goalie. But I have plans for a more detailed game preview report when introducing staff and scouts to the game.
  17. Well, the player shouldn't demand the same salary if unhappy. That sounds like a flaw. I'll check it out. I will try to look further into all this on the next release. Thanks for all input.
  18. 1) The contract is valid until the end of the season. Releasing a player with an outgoing contract will therefore result in a penalty for the remainder of the season even if it's just for the playoffs. But as you mentioned it might be an interesting idea to begin the off season during the playoffs. I'll have this in mind. Thanks 2) When signing a contract extension with a player the new contract replaces the old one and take effect immediately. This is not optimal and something that might change in the future.
  19. Here's a sneak preview of how the forum and chat will be included in game. https://twitter.com/gameplanhockey/status/651417674862448640
  20. Hi Jer Think I understand what you mean. Yes, as you missed the playoffs you will remain in the IHL next season. That means that you have the same salary cap restrictions as you have today. If you don't have any space left you can't offer one of your players a raise until you have created more space. This can be done on two ways. As you mentioned you can release one of your players and take the penalty. You might also try to trade away one player for another player with less salary. If you have any outgoing contracts those players will automatically be released the last day of the season without penalty. Then you will have more space. It can be quite hard to keep good players in a lower league if they develop fast since they're looking to play in a higher league and therefore have higher salary demands. If a player have unreasonable high demands maybe the best thing is to let him go. Good luck
  21. That's possible because contract offers and contract evaluations are not run at the end of the day but at fixed times during the day. But you might have found a flaw here. Computers might make offers to close to when players evaluates offers. I'll check this out. Thanks
  22. I'm actually playing the game myself. I'm managing the Wintersville Lancers in the GHL. Can't say that I'm spending to much time on my team whilst developing the game, but are doing quite ok. But have had quite bad playoff performances over the seasons which I'll need to improve :-)
