Ok, going to let the trading cool for a moment - seems like every time I trade my best players my team gets better. Just scored 6, which I think is the most we have scored in a single match all year...that's more than a losing streak of 5 games combined!

I lost my chance at promotion via Playoffs again this season...I think I'm 0 for 5 on that now! This last ones as a bitter pill to swallow. In the second game the match went into OT. When I checked the play-by-play, the OT happenings ended after 30 seconds and then it went immediately into the shootout (photo attached) where my team ultimately lost the series. The first game also went into overtime but the OT went the full 5 as the last play was at 4:30.
 
So, what happened to the full overtime and what if we just got rid of shootouts during the playoffs?

I'm sitting here watching the finals and wanted to resurrect this thread. I really would love to see a full depth chart option where you could set your backup and even shootout lineups and 4v4 lineups. Thoughts guys? Go Preds!

@theweekknights: yeah, meaning looks promising for a youngster. I almost drafted him too- hopefully my New goalie will pan out also. It's difficult to sign top free agents in the GHL because a lot of the best players tend to choose a more tenured, successful team over a newer one.
 
@GregJ: I'm still trying to figure out if faceoffs play any importance - wizard, you have any thoughts on that since you don't seem to focus on that as much?

I'd say that the clapper draft looks to be pretty sick too! I saw an 85 OVR Goalie as soon as the initial prospect rankings came outt...and he has a whole season to develo still. Getting a near 90 goalie who's 18 in the draft is a touch crazy...just hope I suck enough to get that pick!

@GregJ: so most the time when I get injuries it's one of two things. A: it's an old dude. B: it's a small dude. Have you found that this is the case for your guys or not? Let's try to figure out what causes injuries and who might be more injury prone

All three are young, so don't belong in your A group. The two centers that were injured for 20odd games were both under 165lbs, so they likely belong to group B. My defender injured for 8 games is 205lbs. So he would be in the C dude group named "miscellaneous".
 
As a sidenote: The free agent filter tool should be improved to include handedness, height and weight. If this actually affects the game, I'd like to be able to scout on it.

Maybe what we could do is create a promotional salary cap box as well. That way as the season progresses you can see if you're planning on promoting what the next season may look like for you
