Back to the drawing boards on this subject. I have not changed my tactics at all since the beginning of the season (for both Buzzer and Cage) but Buzzer’s Team Confidence seems to be going down in flames now.
 
My 3rd place Cage Team is going Good in the Confidence department but my 2nd place Buzzer, IHL team has been strggling with confidence for the last few weeks. Ironically enough, my team has been utterly destroyed by injuries of late and I put at least one-two players on the IR a week. This week I once more have 2 on the IR along with my top defensemen going down for the rest of the season - would this impact my team’s confidence?
 
Last point - the 1st place Team in my conference, in Buzzer, has Great confidence - what separates 1st at Great confidence, 2nd at Uncertain, and 3rd at Crisis?
 
Do we have any insight on this @Anders & Tobias?

Just a courtesy post to say that I'll be on vaca for the next 8 days.  Phone service will be limited.  Will respond to messages, offers when I can.

Welp, the biggest issue I suppose is my starter getting injured for 17 days. And my backup... at this point I can only assume he has misunderstood the term "goaltending" as guiding pucks into his own net.
 
Even still, I feel I'm having a streak of bad luck on top of that. After the injury, riding the backup, the team has gone 2-0-4-9. Wright is a big factor in the team, sure, but there should be enough quality in the team to pull off a (much) better record than that even when he's out.
 
But I still have my mind set on another cup run - will be all the more satisfying after climbing from the bottom of the standings.

not sure if it's just the summer months, but its been an odd start around the league.

This is an issue we are aware of. This is from the old game we’re we only had one conference. We will of course sort it but it’s alittle bigger bug to solve.

Cats are having the worst cup hangover, playoff MVP Wright decided to extend his summer vacation by 17 days, and the offense is unable to put together more than two goals per game.
 
Oh well, maybe it's just a page out of St.Louis' playbook on how to handle the regular season.

I guess a nod to Jon Snow / The Starks - during this process I changed the Black Flag to the Blackbirds (crow) but there were no real good looking crow mascots so I opted to keep the Black Flag. The Wolf is also associated with that but I would have loved to have named the team the Ghosts or Dire Wolves but Arctic Wolves is close enough  
As a side note: Articwolves is misspelled and should be two words: Arctic Wolves ...good thing we survive with brawn, not brains up in the north - ha!

Our Team relocated both squads to North Haven but man am I indecisive when it comes to look & feel!

Looks like the east is set to become a bloodbath again!

My favorites this season would be Union, Cats & Tide out of the East - and Hawks, Prairie & Ricochet out of the West.
 
Don't let the power rankings deceive you, the Def Leppards have some internal struggles we are dealing with (both tactically and personnel-wise).  We may or may not turn it around by end of season.

I agree with the problem this is trying to solve, but maybe not the proposed solution.  That being said, this topic of inter-league trading has come up a few times in the past and is one that needs active discussion.
 
To answer the initial questions:
 
Picks switching between promoting and demoting teams.  Uhm, whats the logic behind that?
As was already stated above, the logic is to reward the lower league team for promoting to an upper league and penalize the relegating teams.  I think this is a good thing.
 
Except its super abusable? 
100% agree and we need to come up with a solution to make it less abusable.
 
I mean, shouldn't relegated team (when losing his whole team most of the time)  have something to be happy about? And also something to build upon in the future?  This way most people just quit.
If people quit because of being relegated or having a bad team, they are missing the point of the game and it's their loss.  I stated in another thread somewhere that the managers I had the most respect for weren't the teams battling it out for the GHL Cup (sure, those managers are competent and deserve praise as well), but rather the managers who were being relegated and stayed with their teams.  Afterall, it's a manager game.  The main object shouldn't be to just win.  The object should be to make your team better and get them to perform well regardless of your starting point.  If you win in the process, cool.  But if I ever get relegated, I will look at that as a new, exciting challenge.  I'm not sure how long I will play this game, but if/when I decide to retire, it will probably be because of real life getting in the way, not because of having a losing team.
 
Another thing to mention, unrelated to upper league teams from "abusing" it, is that inter-league trading is also unfair to the lower league teams who don't trade with upper league teams.  I would advise all lower league teams to keep their picks as it will pay off greatly upon promotion, but when other teams are getting stacked around you, I can understand why some teams feel it necessary to do so.
 
Now that that is out of the way, what are the possible solutions.
 
1) Picks don't change upon promotion/relegation
 
Pros:  Upper league teams cannot easily secure top picks.
 
Cons:  No reward for recently promoted teams.  Even more difficult for recently promoted teams to compete.
 
 
2) Eliminate trading between leagues (I actually suggested this in the Focus Group).
 
Pros:  Upper league teams cannot easily secure top picks.  Lower league teams cannot easily stack their roster.
 
Cons:  Less communication/interaction between managers (game needs more, not less).  It will be harder for lower league teams to compete with recently relegated upper league teams that prepared for relegation (hence why I also suggested an earlier trade deadline, but that's another topic).
 
 
3) Hear me out on this one.  What if when a player is traded to a lower league, the player's salary was not adjusted?  So if they were in GHL for 500K on a 2-way contract and got traded to SHL, the contract was STILL 500K, not 125K (or whatever it would be).  I suppose this wouldn't totally solve the problem, but it would make it less abusable because lower league teams would think twice about acquiring players for picks.  As it stands, the lower league teams currently benefit in two ways.  First, they get elite talent for their league level, and second, they get that elite talent at a massive discount vs. what they would have had to pay for signing the player themselves.
 
 
4) Roster limits.  Haven't totally thought this through, but it would prevent managers from stacking 2-way contracts for the sole purpose of trading them.  At the very least, it would limit the number of trades.
 
5) Transaction and/or trade limit per season.  I get this would take some of the fun out of the game, but both 4 and 5 would make your moves a little more strategic.  Unlimited trading leads to all sorts of "abuse".

There for sure is out of position penalty, but I still play 4 forwards on PPs.

I'm ok with the multiple offers since I'd assume you won't get most or even any of your offers back.  Otherwise you end up getting dumped and then it is a mad scramble with all the others that received lost out to get the ignored FAs.  It can get frustrating.  What could spice it up is if you are over your cap, you should lose your draft picks or something.  There needs to be a really strong penalty for going over beyond just not being able to trade or assign players up and down.  If you walk away with four 90+ players from FA but are over the cap, you shouldn't be able to skate off into the sunset towards the playoffs.  

I have two players that seem to have odd issues after the Season restart in Buzzer. Aulin, a goalie that was assigned but wanted a 1-way contract is stuck in the affiliate and every time I attempt to view his pag I get an error message. Stankeiwicz is a Defender that I offered a contract extension to (and was accepted) but it still shows up as 1+2 on his Transfer Tab. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
