  1. I have put Goddard on the table.  Experienced and a great defender.  Good passing and shot as well.  Odd man out the way my other defenders are playing and not fitting the tactics I want to play.

I also want to put the feelers out on my #1 defender Shephard.  Top defensive marks as well has having 92 passing rating and is only 31 so still in his prime.

I am looking for a true #1 keeper to help anchor my team, would also be willing to look at really really physical defenders or a really physical Centre.  Good picks or quality prospects are an option as well if the value is right.

Hit me up with offers or messages as I do love do discuss during dealings.

    Thanks

    Brent

  2. What a (first) season in the SHL! I started 1-0-0-9 and at one point i was about 12-0-1-23, and then, i flushed 2 veteran and it took off. With 4 games left, i'm at .500! The gap between BHL and SHL was huge, and the SHL was very competitive this year (i'm not sure the 1st team will have more than 120pts), but i did it, i didn't get relegated.

You have been the only one to beat me this last quarter... and you have had my number all season.

You must have just the right chemistry with your players... you have done a good job.  I am just hoping that one loss doesn't cost me a promotion :D

  3. Didn't this forum make a big fuss about exploiting CPU trades before? It just seems unfair to me to get a prospect like that for basically nothing.

You are correct and I don't disagree with your feelings about it being a bit crappy, I am just disagreeing that it is cheating.  Using a weak computer trading system to his advantage... absolutely but this should motivate the devs to somehow make it harder for these type of trades to happen rather than kicking him out for cheating.

When I think of cheating... the guys who go into a team drop the players then sign into another one to pick them up is what I think of.

  4.  I do agree bundling a bunch of picks to get a genuine stud should be tougher, to get a guy like that would likely be a top of the 1st round Gold pick to even come close to getting his quality out of the draft but it isn't cheating.  The AI trades just need a bit more work to get it straightened out.  Until then can't stop someone from trying whether we feel it is a fair trade or not.

The others don't sound bad at all.... salary dumps happen and as long as the guy on waivers is put there by a legit manager then that explains itself as well.

  5. I seem to be either losing big or winning big this season, could be quite the roller coaster!

I saw your loss today Paul... he beat me pretty handily the game before that with stats being what I felt was in my favour.  Either we just got rotten luck or he has a "opponent keeper is going to be crap" button :P

  6. I honestly think there needs to be a message option to send with the transfer.  Put it right in the trade so the person knows exactly what the other person is thinking.  I use it... but feel the message system is not simple enough to get to someone for the casual player... or a guy who plays part time on a device.  Put it in the transfer... you will get more interaction.

Offensive player with good passing skills.  Actually played in my top 6 last season but just does not fit my new tactics or plan.

Picks preferred but could be convinced with a defensive and physical bottom line Center, or a veteran goalkeeper to be my starting netminder.   For a starting keeper I could also give up one of the young 82-84 keepers as part of the deal.

I also have a few other guys on the block that are two way players and would fit very well with any BHL team.

  8. Biggest thing is wages on these star players need to go way up.... bigger wages solves the problem naturally.

90+ players should be the rarity which I understand it isn't but make it too expensive to have more than 2 or 3 and soon the problem will weed itself out.

  9. I am new to the game and wondering if there is a trade deadline ? And how many teams make the playoffs of the 16 ?

    Welcome to the game!

Trade deadline is just after the end of the season... day 67 I believe and reopens just before the new season starts day 77.  All depends what league you are in for playoffs.  Gold there is 8 teams in the playoffs for pride.  Most other leagues have 4 teams in playoffs position 3 through 6 and two winners from initial rounds there play the division higher for promotion.

  10. Thanks.  I'm sure they played a part.  Also tough break for you today with your goalie getting injured 1/2 way through the first period.  Think the game might have turned a bit differently if he did not.  Close games as always.  Now excuse me while I go get smoked by a GHL team :-)

He was my 2nd stringer but he was arguably the better keeper this season.  Figured he deserved the shot in a meaningful game.

Time to get the kids out for the final game and crank down the tenacity of my players :)

  11. In other SHL news, the Leopards and Musketeers finished with the same point total and will face off in the first round of the playoffs as the #4 and #5 seeds.  We split the season series 2-2.  The crazy fact is that both teams promoted from BHL last season where they finished with the same exact point total there, too.  What are the chances?

Good luck, Exxeo.  Thought for sure you were going to dig your way out of having to play to stay.  Your team was on quite the tear the last 20 or so games of the season.

Lost on the last day of the season!  Tired of being the bridesmaid LOL!!!

Guess I will have to make it up by kicking your butt in the playoffs... and by that I mean the tactics :)

  12. Looking for a couple things this season to complete my squad the way I want it.

Firstly, a 1st line forward or center SHL caliber.  I really can't have another nervous or anxious guy but other mental traits could be worked with.

Secondly, a 3rd/4th line young defensive minded player.  Size is a bonus as well as mental traits.

I have a surplus of good young defenders so I could part with one of those for the right player.  Picks going either way to balance what we feel the assets are worth is also possible.

    Thanks,

    Brent

  13. Caufield has moved on now, Moxey is still available.  I am also batting around the idea of trading away my star keeper Grob.  92 rated just 30 years old and great mental attributes.

I am looking for picks, prospects that I might be able to use in the next few seasons or young players that can fit in my lower lines and have a look at moving into the top lines in a few seasons.

    Thanks
