  1. I am trying to finalize my prospect rankings for the upcoming draft. I have allocated which picks I want used on which players based on their ranking. Now for examples sake lets say I have three picks and I allocate 3 players I am interested in for each pick.

    1st round
    Players (A1) (B1) (C1)
    2nd Round
    Players (A2) (B2) (C2)

    3rd Round
    Players (A3) (B3) (C3)

In a perfect world I would draft A1, A2 and A3. But if another manager drafting above me wants A1, he will draft him and so I would draft B1. Simple enough, I understand that. Now if B1 were to be drafted as well before my pick is there a way I can order it so A2 would be considered over C1? A2 is slotted as my first 2nd round preference as I'd ideally like to draft A1 or B1 first and then be able to draft A2 with my second choice because he should be available due to his ranking. But if both are taken do I just have A2 slotted third on my list but still with the preference of my 2nd round pick?

    So I would order them:
    Player - Pick preference
    A1 - 1st round
    B1 - 1st round

    A2 - 2nd round

    C1 - 1st round

    B2 - 2nd Round

    A3 - 3rd Round

    C3 - 2nd Round

    B3 - 3rd Round

    C3 - 3rd Round

After typing it out it seems like that is the answer, but will my 2nd round preference be taken with my first round pick if I set the order as is above if both A1 and B1 are taken? Basically I value A2 more than C1, but I still value C1 more than B2, so if C1 were to slide to my second round pick would he be selected there?

I hope this somehow made sense and I didn't just talk in circles. It seems like every time I am close to getting to an answer by myself I confuse the process and have to start over.

  2. Just prioritize your third round selections and they will be drafted in order of what is available. So in your list you aren't going to have a 2nd round preference, just players you'd prioritise with your first pick and those you want with your two thirds.

On a separate question, has anyone had experience using selections from a higher league? Is it the same, you just prioritise players with say the 2nd round if you had a SHL second round and were in the BHL, even though those second round SHL players are ranked higher than your BHL first round prioritised prospects?

  3. At the conclusion of the playoffs I'll be looking to trade the negotiating rights of one of my defensemen for a pick.

    Torrey Carmack R [21] (81)

Strong defensively with 87 Defense and can play the minutes with 89 Endurance. He has a knack offensively with 91 passing. His overall went up twice this season, and he was second in the league in points by a defenseman. No injury worries, even though he logged 23 minutes a night.

I will be looking for a first round SHL pick if you want to get lock him up before he hits the open market.

  4. Not sure if this has been asked elsewhere but can someone tell me how much of an impact a goalies energy level has on performance? I've seen goalies that are exhausted but still playing well, and others that flat out blow. Anyone here ride their starting goalie regardless of energy level?

  5. I think these (and others stats like PP shots, blocked shots, etc.) would fit right into the release of new game report (if I recall correctly Anders wanted to make the game report so it comes second by second and shows all game events, hope I'm not dreaming and this was indeed the case?). But yeah, would love to get some more stats we can take a look at.

That sounds phenomenal, if anyone here plays be a gm on NHL games, a live feed like the simulation in that game would be surreal. But if that is too ambitious, expanded statistics would more than please the crowd.

  6. Is adding more statistics to the game in the pipeline for improvements? I believe we have a good set of base stats available, but it's rather hard to fully analyze a players performance. For example, if I want to know if a player played well defensively all I can go off of is +/- and taking a shot in the dark at guessing what the performance number could mean. A good starting point would be adding a stat like corsi (shots for minus shots against while player is on the ice). Managers would get a good indication of a players puck possession.
Anyways just me nit picking, keep up the good work Anders.

  7. Kind of taking an idea from another game that I played. Team press releases are always a fun thing to add to experience of owning and managing a team. In the other game during the season me and a couple of the other managers that had become familiar over the game would write weekly press releases about the our team, take friendly digs at the others teams. I feel it could add to the community aspect and add another level of realism.

  8. Just a small thing, but right now a shootout loss counts as a goal against for the goaltenders stats. Its nothing major but it in real life the shootout doesn't affect their stats as shots on in shootouts aren't counted so I feel like the goals shouldn't either.

  9. Hey guys! Just joined this game a few days ago, I'm managing the Frankford Big Red in the BHL. Unfortunately I inherited the 14th place team, but I'm working on cleaning that up. I'm coming here with 6+ years of playing another online manager game, but the creator seems to be done working on the game, and there seems to be a vibe in the community tHAt the end is near. I've been reading through a lot of the threads and topics in this forum over the last few days, seem like more than a few people HAve come over from the same game. I'm pretty stoked to of found this game, and loving how its just getting off the ground. I want to say that from what I've seen so far, what Anders has been doing and his commitment to developing this game has been awesome, a real breath of fresh air.

I'm slowly getting used to the game and getting all the ins and outs squared away. As I get more in tune with things I'm going to try and get more involved in discussions. For the time being I think I just have to try and stay in the BHL and see if I can bolster my blue line and clean up my crease during silly season.

Take it easy on me if we're in the same league and if you want to check out my team and throw any suggestions at me they would all be welcomed.
