Case in point kuensami. Never did I say you were a tool or egocentric fool. Just that liking your own posts gives the impression that that is what your character is. It would really behoove you to recognize the difference between "looking like" and "you are." I said look like and looking like. Never did I say you were. Not trying to be rude, just giving it to you straight.

This community is small not because of any community negativity but because the game is very new and has had virtually no exposure beyond word of mouth.

The point of the "Like This" button is for OTHER people to appreciate your comments. Let's leave that to them. Our job is to contribute to the community in a manner that makes it better. Liking your own comments doesn't serve such a purpose. We've had cases in the past like this, all it'll get you is a bad rep.

Is adding more statistics to the game in the pipeline for improvements? I believe we have a good set of base stats available, but it's rather hard to fully analyze a players performance. For example, if I want to know if a player played well defensively all I can go off of is +/- and taking a shot in the dark at guessing what the performance number could mean. A good starting point would be adding a stat like corsi (shots for minus shots against while player is on the ice). Managers would get a good indication of a players puck possession.
Anyways just me nit picking, keep up the good work Anders.

We used have something like that in Hockey Dynasty. You'd have 3 spaces(don't remember # of characters for each...maybe 100 or 150) on your team home page to write whatever you want. Other people could also come to your page and leave a message as well. Its a bit different with team pages in this game, so it'd prob be implemented a bit differently.

Maybe have it as a type of message that gets sent to everyone in the League or something....and have reminders at certain points of the season sent to every manager to remind them that they should send out their regular press release. Could have some sort of minor impact on the players' morale or something as well.....or maybe fans, if we add Fan Support and stuff into the game.

    Hiya,

Since the draft/prospects were added....it'd be nice to have those available in the drop-down menu for Transfer Needs. Teams should be able to let others know that they want to move their players for only prospects or draft picks(re-build situation).

Great work so far Anders! Can't wait for Mitts and Lumber's first draft

I understand what you mean, but I wouId welcome the added difficulty. As it is in the NHL, you have to make tough desicions on players and take risks in order to win. It just adds another element of cap management.

Kind of taking an idea from another game that I played. Team press releases are always a fun thing to add to experience of owning and managing a team. In the other game during the season me and a couple of the other managers that had become familiar over the game would write weekly press releases about the our team, take friendly digs at the others teams. I feel it could add to the community aspect and add another level of realism.

Maybe another option would be if you got promoted you get an option to change it. This way within a league familiarity stays the same but in a new league you can be a new team

100 games isn't much tho...just a little bit over a season(depending on playoffs run)....maybe extend the time period by quite a bit more?

Each club will nominate 1 player from the entire League/World or their own team only? We don't want too many people in the Hall of Fame right...requirements to get in need to be tough, so that its actually a "Hall of Fame".

Early accounts can change their logo/name once because new ones were added recently. This feature is coming somewhere in the future to "All-Star" accounts if I'm correct. (All-Star accounts are "support" accounts that you can buy for a small monthly fee, I believe)

Currently though, it's kinda hard enough to try and get some trades done with actual managers...it'd be very hard to find someone to send our players to. Sorry if I've misunderstood what you guys were talking about in terms of the football type thing...haven't played that.

Also, we'd have to sorta trust that manager with our players right...training them correctly, playing them correct minutes, etc.

I'd rather have a system where we're in total control of our minor team...we could possibly even set our training, lineups, etc just like in our major league team, but it just won't have any real competition(game results just matter in terms of player development, not really about winning the Cup or anything). So that way, we're accepting full responsibility for our players.

Exactly my concern. I don't necessarily trust other GMs with my players unless I know that they're experienced(at my level or more), which we obviously can't guarantee. I'd rather have my prospects in non-playable leagues, where I can send down/bring up players. I would obviously like to see how they're doing in terms of development/stats, etc.

What we could do is have sort of a parallel World(non-playable) where each of our minor teams would exist. If our teams promote/demote, our minor teams would do the same. One problem there is that we want that parallel World to sorta run like a real world, where teams will win/lose games...but then the promotion/demotion of the minor teams in accordance with our normal teams' promotion/demotion will not line up most of the time.

Just something I came up with on the spot, anyone got any ideas? The more we discuss and come up with solid propositions, the easier it'll be for Anders to implement them as he won't have to do as much in terms of the planning aspect of it.

This is by no means a show stopper, more of a kinda-nice to have.  I believe we got the option not too long ago to change our team name, color and logo (possibly because of an increase in choices if I recall).  I think it could be cool and refreshing, for those of us who like to fiddle, to change things up after a while with some new colors and such.  The drawback I see however, would be familiarity within the league from season to season.  Again, not a show stopper by any means!

    Foreign Affiliate Teams

I like the World structure of foreign leagues in GPHM now.  USA has AMHL and AMHL2 (similar to AHL and ECHL in real life); Sweden has SEHL, SEHL2, SEHL3 (similar to Elitserien, Allsvensken, and HockeyEttan in real life), so on and so forth.  Let's use the foreign teams as affiliates.

    CPU manages minor league teams

A parent team in GHL/SHL/IHL/LIHL could have "control" over 1 or 2 minor league teams, for example in AMHL and/or AMHL2.  The human GM of the parent team can call up/send down players, and the CPU will be in charge of playing, coaching, developing the minor league teams.  That way you don't have to rely on another human to develop your players.

I guess with them in leagues like the current non-playable leagues, it'd eradicate the problem of promotion/demotion? Or would it....if I've got a team in the GHL...my minor team should be better than if I was in the SHL right? How would we deal with promotion/demotion? Just move the non-playable teams in between leagues?

I've gtg ri now...so I'm sure my thoughts are all over the place, but let's the ball rolling

I mean, its a nice idea. But it wouldn't make sense to include every League within a World in it....wouldn't be much of a competition.....it'd just be like a second GHL playoffs.

I think the International Competition would work at each League level....but that's probably something Anders could look into once he's taken care of the more important business.

The point of the trade deadline is so that you take care of such needed trades before it. This is what happens in RL as well.

One thing that can be done is to make players talk contract extensions a while before playoffs, so that there's more room to maneuver even without trades in playoffs.

Yes, you can have multiple accounts, as long as they are in different Worlds. In order to do that, just create another account and join a World

So, we've been having this following idea with my friends for a while. Being able to easy and quick compare players to each other (without all the hazzle and math it requires now) so I threw together a few scetches for a "compare players" suggestion".

First up is the compare screen itself:

So in the compare screen you can have 2 or more players, with their ratings or basic info, contract etc. laid out next to each other. Stronger stats / better contract are being highlighted in green and worse in red with the differense shown in numbers in between. If more players are added that 2, then the color will cut halfway through the player block.

When you click the add player button, it takes you to the following screen:

There you first select the League, then the team and finally the player you want to add to the compare. (Could also have a hotkey for your own team.)

Also second option for the compare screen could be their stats laid out horizontally, where you could then sort them stat by stat by clicking the stat name at the top. (A bit like you see now in your roster screen, but with only the players you've selected, and being able to sort).

So, what you think about the idea? How would you implement it? (I know the pictures aren't the best, just something I threw together in 20 mins.)

In Hockey Dynasty, we could tag players as available or untouchable. We could also highlight what type of players we're looking for. So far, we've got that here in GPH as well. The additional thing was that we could enforce our needs/wants by choosing an option that would block all other users from including our untouchable players or players from their team that didn't fit our needs/wants criteria.

For example, I could say that I'm looking for a Top Line Center and enforce that. The system would automatically disallow other users from including Centers that are not Top Line worthy based on MY current team.

Obviously, there is some room for concern as well, since we may be looking for a certain attribute in a player.....but the computer will continue to enforce our needs/wants criteria based on whatever equation is being used by the developer.

A workaround for that would be to allow us to specify certain attributes(Examples -> Shooting of at least 85, Ovr of at least 90) in our needs/wants criteria instead of just the general "Top Line Center", etc.

That trade offer is not worth complaining about at all OP. No it isn't a fair trade both ways but it isn't completely atrocious to be called a troll offer. it is a respectable attempt but has poor value of return for what you are giving up.

This is one worth mentioning and Matt I'm not calling you out per se here but really?

http://www.gameplanhockey.com/goalie?gpid=427(22yo G at 84OVR with gifted and enthusiastic for development) for http://www.gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=14498 (25yo D at 75OVR with gifted and purposeful for development)

Would you accept this offer in reverse Matt? If so lets trade Broz for Berardi then I'll accept your offer.

Besides this trade being a WTF from Matt the only thing wrong with it is that the player being offered will never be near as good nor is near as valuable now much less in the future yet has the same trade value as the player being requested in return. The defender he is offering has too high a trade value. That isn't Matt's fault.

PSA TO EVERYONE: Think about the trade you are offering. Would you even consider accepting the trade you are thinking about offering if the situation were reversed? If not don't bother sending it.

    Thanks for your replies guys.
Indeed we all have different management and coaching styles.
GMS: Thanks for your explanation, but: your top of the league scoring? In case you haven't noticed; three players from my team have more points than your leading scorer, and I don't double-shift them either...
