  1. There as been a restart earlier tonight but it seems to be stuck again at 00:00 on day 39.
  2. Anders left a message that the server needs to restart and that it may take a few hours. The new drafting system seems to put some pressure on the server.
  3. If by "the exact guy you are describing in your post", you mean that I'm managing one of the best teams in my league: thanks and I have to say I'm proub about it. But I guess that's not what you meant. The fact that I'm managing one of the best teams in my league is irrelevant with my work to try to make this game better to everyone. As making a guide to improve everyone's game. I actually had this argument plenty of times with different players and, so far, no one as given me the demonstration that rising the salary cap will even out chances between players. Maybe I'm wrong, but right now, it is obvious to me that it only help better teams to keep their best players long term for a cheaper price (keeping players on your team will always be cheaper than putting them on free agent market). I'm not arguing about how player play, managed their teams or enjoy this game (except for cheating), I'm arguing how the game system works and deal with the salary cap. I still think that the salary cap should stay the same even if I'm one the the teams that will have to get rid of my best players.
  4. To bwgrim: Yep, I'm Senet in Mitts and Camille Senay in Howitzer. To Cliff: Ok but look at these player's age. Often over 36 yo, so risky contract. How many player under 92 you and I have on our teams? Most of these players, actually none, would be on our two first lines. But, maybe you are right about waiting for a few seasons to make a mind about it.
  5. Sorry koekefix but I'm against a salary cap increase because it makes it easier for the best teams to stay on top of the league. If you keep the salary cap low, you have to make some choices and good players become available for other team. I understand it is frustrating to get rid of players but it makes the league more competitive and gives a chance to everyone to rise and shine.
  6. No problem Canuck. Well ... You know what I mean. Because of salary cap and trading, I've seen right from the start the potential edge you could get from draft. I was mislead by the fact that Southside and Great Dane first picks got traded even before I could got up in day 1 after the drafting system and couldn't trade with the Wizard for his first pick too. I really though the fight would be toughter for draft picks this year, which lead to this. I never met to make this league boring or frustrating for anyone and I'm sorry it turned out this way. I really hope this gentlemanly rule can fix this out. I'mstill open to fix this out if it doesn't.

  8. I hope I didn't offended anyone when I wrote about "active teams" and I'm really happy to see new players in Howitzer. Welcome to everyone.
  9. I see 4 "active" teams in GHL: Eagles, Brown Bears, Coasters and Knights ( suspended for 3rd time). I'm about a 100 percent sure Hemlock is controlled by Knights (latest suspension). What about the other teams?
  10. GMF: I don't mean to point out on everything, but Sholar and Venasse were leading the league by 3 points went the server crashed. Gallagher never leaded in point by far this season.
  11. To GMS: Receiving some trade offers that aren't interesting to you is part of the game and you will receive more uninteresting offer than interesting ones, whatever the system Anders is putting on. Just tagged your players as untouchable. To BBC: It's quite obvious the kind of players GMS is looking for. I also think the way he build his team have it's limits but it's his choice right now. This has nothing personnal I think. I don't think that it's a bad idea to have more trading option and maybe being able to block offers that don't match those criterias, maybe just not the right way to explain it. Have fun
  12. Salaries should get higher, not the cap. If salaries are higher, you can't afford a team full of great players. Than every team will have 4-6 great players and everyone will have a chance to win. You do bring a point about trading free agents. You shouldn't be able to trade them for a year. The hole idea is to prevent teams from getting too strong, too quickly and for too long.
  13. It doesn't happen because experienced players will always know better who they should keep and sign. There should be more challenge and the salary cap is a good way to solve this. Like in real life. You started your team on season 10 or 11 in a league without competition. It helps to build on a team. I started a team on howitzer season 1. I'm years in front of anyone else. I may not win every season, but it's just too easy. It would make things harder for the best players and easier for the newbies. Seems fair. No?
  14. I already wrote a post about this but Duster GHL is starting to get like UAT I: best 2-4 teams get the best players in the league and every other team is left behind. My point is salaries should get higher so a team can't get more than 6 over 90 players. Just like in real NHL. What's the use of a salary cap if you can get all the best players anyway? It also keeps new players away from old leagues because they can't compete against the best teams.
  15. I'm playing in the same league than Goodmeanshelf. See previous post. That's why.
  16. Good luck. I'll miss having a real player who isn't cheating in GHL. See you soon.
  17. - 1. Just makes cheating easier. If this is a problem, it's because you have many many accounts. That is a pain in the butt, GoodMeanshelf.
  18. Hi my name is Camille Senay and I'm playing with Mountain city Eagles.
  19. Hi everyone I'm playing with the Mountain city Eagles in GHL. I see only 4 teams in GHL that actually buy any free agents and do some trades, even if there is only two spots available ( What about the 10 other teams?). Can you just take a minute so we all know which teams are active and which teams are sleeping? Not only in GHL but at every level? Thanks.
  20. I'm playing in GHL duster. First in the league. 14-0. Also playing in UAT, I don't see how I can get even close to the first three teams. I'm in both seats in different leagues and I still think any team shouldn't have more than 3 or 4 over 90 players. Salaries don't raise that fast when you know how to choose your players. My two cents.
  21. It's getting really hard to make any trade. It's becoming too hard to fall into "can't do this trade". I understand that it is to protect new players or computer teams. But why, after a few seasons of experience, I shouldn't be able to make a trade that may seems bad for my team, but is actually better long term. And, on another to pic, great player ( over 90) should have a higher salary (over 4mm) so you can't have a packup team forever.
