  1. It really is. 22 years later, there still isn't a graphical football simulator out there that can do what this game can do.

The Phildelphia offensive line was horrible and were the reason why the Philadelphia offense could not gain consistency. Boston's offense was paced by HB LaDainian Tomlinson moving the chains for 1st downs and WR Hines Ward making big catches for huge gains. Washington Dominated the time of possession (34 minutes to 26 minutes), but two QB Matt Hasselbeck red zone interceptions took points off of the board for Washington, allowing Denver to win. Whether in fantasy or real life, turnovers, especially in the red zone, kills a team. Now New Jersey has taken the lead in the 2KFL Atlantic division (due to beating Washington twice in head-to-head games) with 2 games left to play. Denver is rolling now and they are going to be tough in the playoffs. The are my favorite to win it all. On first down, Tampa Bay QB Marc Bulger throws a dart outside of the numbers to WR Plaxico Burress for 13 yards and get the ball down to the Los Angeles 36 yard line. This is as far as they are able to go, unfortunately, and throws 3 straight incomplete passes to end the game. Los Angeles HB Clinton Portis controlled the ball game for Los Angeles, punishing the beleaguered Tampa Bay front 7 by gaining (9) first downs by himself and extending numerous drives on his effort alone. Tampa Bay must address this weakness in the draft, especially their defensive tackle position, and rookie stud DT Kevin WIlliams just so happens to be one of the top rated draftees next season. They need him. Chicago dominated Michigan and the main reason was the play of stud LB Keith Brooking. He was all over the place making plays (3 sacks, 1 interception for a TD, 1 forced fumble) and made life difficult for the Michigan offense all day helping to hold them to only 199 yards total offense. Chicago HB Jamal Lewis was really the main offense for the Blitz while Michigan QB Aaron Brooks struggled mightily all game long. Ineffective offense and 2 turnovers in the 4th quarter allowed Philadelphia to score 17 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to put the game away. For once, Philadelphia's linebacker corps came to play as LB Ian Gold and LB Jeff Ulbrich played great games. Can they sustain that level of play? History say no. New Jersey, despite sacking the Philadelphia QB 9 times, was not able to sustain much offense today. This loss for New Jersey puts their hold on the wildcard spot (much less the division) in danger as Arizona, with a win, would tie them for the final playoff spot. But Michigan could not stop Denver QB Brian Griese who led 2 backbreaking touchdown drives to kill Michigan's momentum and win the game. Arizona ran for over 257 yards on the ground, overwhelming the Chicago front 7. Since Chicago is tied for Philadelphia for the worst record in the league, they are in line to take the top rated rookie QB next year (who happens to be QB Tony Romo) which is a good thing as their current crop of QBs are just not good. Current starter QB Joe Hamilton takes good care of the ball but is not accurate at all. Arizona has to keep winning in order to keep pace with New Jersey for the final playoff spot. 16. Birmingham Stallions 0 7 0 3 -- 10 Philadelphia Stars 14 7 7 0 -- 28 First Quarter Philadelphia - Dugans 32 pass from Brady (Graham kick), 3:52 Philadelphia - Jones 7 run (Graham kick), 14:00 Second Quarter Birmingham - Dayne 12 pass from Manning (Dawson kick), 10:48 Philadelphia - Johnson 12 pass from Brady (Graham kick), 13:57 Third Quarter Philadelphia - Jones 5 run (Graham kick), 8:24 Fourth Quarter Birmingham - Dawson 42 FG, 9:41 After an 8 game losing streak, Philadelphia used a strong running game, led by HB Thomas Jones, to grind out 35 minutes time of possession, plus a strong defense to gain their first win of the year. It has been a tough year for Philadelphia due mainly to their inability to stop the run. When CB Donovan Darius leads your team in run stops with 11 (tackles to lead to an unsuccessful running play as defined earlier in the thread), your defensive front 7 are not doing a good job against the run. The linebackers (injured LB Brian Simmons, Ian Gold and Jeff Ulbrich) especially have not had good years and may require a high draft pick to bring in a more stout run stuffer for next year. Birmingham struggled to move the ball all game, as has been their main issue for a couple of years. Despite 4 interceptions by Denver QB Brian Griese, the Denver defense was able to hold down a pretty strong Arizona offense to 12 points. Denver really is a surprise team this year. They have a middling offense but a very strong defense in the front 7 and in the secondary. Arizona's loss knocked them out of the wild card spot, so they are going to have to win and hope that the current wild card team, New Jersey, falters. Though Oakland had some huge runs by HB Rueben Droughns, their anemic passing game led by backup QB Akili Smith continually hurt this team's ability to sustain long drives. With Denver and Arizona both ahead of Oakland in the standings, the only way Oakland makes the playoffs is the wildcard and this loss was a bad one if they had hoped to keep pace. On the pros side, Hamilton did not turn the ball over, pushed the ball downfield and actually had this team leading 19-17 going into the 4th quarter. On the cons side, he was not very accurate and he was sacked 3 times. On the whole, his game was the top rated Blitz game of the year for Quarterbacks; it has been that bad. Despite forcing 4 turnovers, the Chicago defense just could not contain Michigan HB Shaun Alexander. Michigan was lucky to win this game. The defense played well, but offensive turnovers by QB Aaron Brooks (3 interceptions and 1 fumble) really made thing difficult for the defense. Boston proceeds to score 2 unanswered TDs to take a 27-24 lead. Philadelphia attempted a 47yd FG with :38 left in the 4th quarter that landed short to deal Boston's victory. The Boston trio of QB Daunte Culpepper, HB LaDainian Tomlinson and WR Hines Ward played great games. Philadelphia's defense yet again failed to protect a late lead. Hard to see Philadelphia winning a game this year, so 0-12 could be in their future.
