  1. The Madison Pandas were rolling along offensively behind their MVP caliber QB Abdur Greer, who threw for 2 TDs and ran for 1, leading to Madison to a 28-14 halftime lead.....the disaster struck. Early in the 3rd quarter, TE Coen Cuevas played the part of a turnstile pass blocking against Orlando DE Moses Lucero; who then nailed QB Abdur Greer, knocking him out of the game (luckily he should be back next week). The game went downhill from there as the Madison offense only scored 10 more points the remainder of the game. There is no doubt in my mind that had Greer not been injured, this game would have turned out differently. Orlando QB Kingston Terrell was amazing, consistently keeping the Madison defense off balanced between his accurate passes and his scrambling ability. He destroyed the Madison secondary! Late in the 4th quarter with 1:15 left on the clock and down 38-34, Orlando QB Kingston Terrell found a streaking WR Glen House behind the defense for a 68yd bomb and a score and that sealed the game. Amazing comeback by the Orlando Warthogs! Defensive Standouts were: Madison CB Milton Bender had a great day with 6 tckls, sack, interception and 3 pass breakups Orlando DE Moses Lucero not only put a quarterback out of the game, he also had 5 tckls, sack and 2 tackle for loss Madison Pandas @ Orlando Warthogs 0:00 4th quarter Spectrum Stadium - Orlando FL (USA) - 32,615 (95%) 79° Heavy Rain at kick --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 2 3 4 OT TOTAL MAD 7 21 3 7 -- 38 ORL 7 7 6 21 -- 41 TEAM STATS --------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIRST DOWNS 3RD DOWN CONV 4TH DOWN CONV TOTAL PLAYS ----------- ------------- ------------- ----------- MAD 25 MAD 4/9 MAD 0/0 MAD 70 ORL 21 ORL 7/12 ORL 0/0 ORL 66 TOTAL YARDS TURNOVERS LOST PENALTIES POSSESSION ----------- -------------- -------------- ---------- MAD 410 MAD 0 (0i0f) MAD 3/19y MAD 30:30 ORL 508 ORL 0 (1i-1f) ORL 5/40y ORL 29:30 PASSING RUSHING ----------------------------- ------------------------------- MAD 28/37 306 YDS 3 TD 0 IN MAD 27 CAR 104 YDS 2 TD 0 FLST ORL 29/39 414 YDS 5 TD 1 IN ORL 27 CAR 94 YDS 1 TD 0 FLST SCORING SUMMARY --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1Q 08:45 MAD 7-0 QB Abdur Greer to WR Elmer Ellison 2 yd rec (K Alfred McNally PAT) ---------- 1Q 01:45 ORL 7-7 QB Kingston Terrell to TE Gio Cano 8 yd rec (K Macy Mann PAT) ---------- 2Q 09:30 MAD 14-7 FB McCauley Adams 2 yd Run (K Alfred McNally PAT) ---------- 2Q 09:00 ORL 14-14 QB Kingston Terrell to HB Rafe McCabe 3 yd rec (K Macy Mann PAT) ---------- 2Q 03:45 MAD 21-14 QB Abdur Greer to WR Elmer Ellison 3 yd rec (K Alfred McNally PAT) ---------- 2Q 01:15 MAD 28-14 QB Abdur Greer 1 yd Run (K Alfred McNally PAT) ---------- 3Q 09:00 ORL 20-28 QB Kingston Terrell to WR Dylan Johnston 4 yd rec (PAT blocked by NT Zack Smith) ---------- 3Q 05:30 MAD 31-20 K Alfred McNally 43 yd Field Goal ---------- 4Q 10:45 ORL 26-31 HB Avneet Cordova 6 yd Run (Two-point pass failed) ---------- 4Q 08:30 MAD 38-26 QB Olivier Goines to TE Mason Morton 44 yd rec (K Alfred McNally PAT) ---------- 4Q 04:30 ORL 33-38 QB Kingston Terrell to TE Gio Cano 29 yd rec (K Macy Mann PAT) ---------- 4Q 01:15 ORL 41-38 QB Kingston Terrell to WR Glen House 68 yd rec (Two-point pass good)
  2. This game was a tale of two halves for the Albuquerque Gazelles. They were actually up 14-3 on the strong Wichita team until a very late 2nd quarter touchdown by Wichita brought the score to 14-10 going into halftime. The 3rd quarter proved decisive for Wichita. The first play from scrimmage after halftime, from their 9 yard line, Wichita QB Wyatt Odom hit WR Bogdan Livingston on a hitch route. The defender fell down and Livingston scampered 90 yards down to the Albuquerque 1 yard line. A quick punch in by QB Wyatt Odom and just like that, Wichita takes the lead. After (2) Albuquerque field goals and a 57 yard TD run by fleet-footed HB Atticus Nichols, we head into the 4th quarter with Albuquerque down 24-20. Midway through the 4thquarter and down 27-20, Albuquerque QB Remi Jeffery threw a back breaking interception to Wichita FS Martin Reese, giving Wichita the ball at the Albuquerque 35 yard line. Seven plays later, QB Wyatt Odom threw a 7 yard TD pass to WR Bogdan Livingston sealing the win. Again, Wichita is the cream of the TTFL and proved it in decisive fashion. Some defensive standouts for the game were: Wichita NT Jaidan Field was a force on the inside of the defensive line with 8 tackles (2 for losses) and a sack Albuquerque NT Damian Tang was equally impressive notching 6 tackles (3 for losses) Albuquerque's defensive front 4 brought steady pressure while combining for 3 sacks Wichita Cheetahs @ Albuquerque Gazelles 0:00 4th quarter Dreamstyle Stadium - Albuquerque NM (USA) - 36,117 (92%) 61° Sunny at kick --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 2 3 4 OT TOTAL WIC 3 7 14 10 -- 34 ABQ 0 14 6 0 -- 20 TEAM STATS --------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIRST DOWNS 3RD DOWN CONV 4TH DOWN CONV TOTAL PLAYS ----------- ------------- ------------- ----------- WIC 12 WIC 1/7 WIC 0/0 WIC 50 ABQ 24 ABQ 13/20 ABQ 1/2 ABQ 80 TOTAL YARDS TURNOVERS LOST PENALTIES POSSESSION ----------- -------------- -------------- ---------- WIC 358 WIC 0 (0i0f) WIC 4/25y WIC 22:45 ABQ 378 ABQ 2 (2i0f) ABQ 7/45y ABQ 37:15 PASSING RUSHING ----------------------------- ------------------------------- WIC 14/17 206 YDS 2 TD 0 IN WIC 26 CAR 152 YDS 2 TD 0 FLST ABQ 27/40 263 YDS 2 TD 2 IN ABQ 40 CAR 115 YDS 0 TD 0 FLST SCORING SUMMARY --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1Q 06:00 WIC 3-0 K Conan Nairn 47 yd Field Goal ---------- 2Q 12:30 ABQ 7-3 QB Remi Jeffery to WR Yousif Hassan 7 yd rec (K Kendall Tomlinson PAT) ---------- 2Q 05:45 ABQ 14-3 QB Remi Jeffery to HB Keenan Williamson 16 yd rec (K Kendall Tomlinson PAT) ---------- 2Q 00:45 WIC 10-14 QB Wyatt Odom to WR Keyan Fowler 12 yd rec (K Conan Nairn PAT) ---------- 3Q 14:15 WIC 17-14 QB Wyatt Odom 1 yd Run (K Conan Nairn PAT) ---------- 3Q 08:15 ABQ 17-17 K Kendall Tomlinson 40 yd Field Goal ---------- 3Q 07:15 WIC 24-17 HB Atticus Nichols 57 yd Run (K Conan Nairn PAT) ---------- 3Q 02:30 ABQ 20-24 K Kendall Tomlinson 49 yd Field Goal ---------- 4Q 10:45 WIC 27-20 K Conan Nairn 49 yd Field Goal ---------- 4Q 07:15 WIC 34-20 QB Wyatt Odom to WR Bogdan Livingston 7 yd rec (K Conan Nairn PAT)
  3. From the looks of it, Eugene QB Franco Drummond played lights out, but a subpar first half (9/18 70yd 0 td 0int) allowed Aurora to take a 17-6 lead at halftime. The 2nd half was pretty much a shootout, minus a late 100yd kickoff return TD by Aurora KR Adam Ramos, but had the Eugene passer converted some of those 1st half misses into 1st downs, this game could have been a lot closer. As for Aurora, QB Roscoe Draper showed what kind of damage he can do with his legs and his arm and despite a couple of interceptions, he was great. The two defenses struggled this game, but a couple of standouts were: Eugene LB Zayden Eastwood had 2 interceptions Eugene DE Subhan Cook continued his dominance with a sack and 4 QB pressures The Aurora Pass rush harassed the Eugene quarterback mercilessly with 21 QB pressures/sacks for a 41% pressure rate, which is amazing Offensive Player of the Game - Eugene QB Franco Drummond Defensive Player of the Game - Eugene QB Zayden Eastwood Eugene Frogs @ Aurora Coyotes 0:00 4th quarter SMS Stadium - Aurora CO (US) - 30,000 (100%) 72° Dome at kick --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 2 3 4 OT TOTAL EUG 3 3 7 21 -- 34 AUR 7 10 17 13 -- 47 TEAM STATS --------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIRST DOWNS 3RD DOWN CONV 4TH DOWN CONV TOTAL PLAYS ----------- ------------- ------------- ----------- EUG 23 EUG 3/12 EUG 1/2 EUG 72 AUR 21 AUR 7/10 AUR 0/0 AUR 63 TOTAL YARDS TURNOVERS LOST PENALTIES POSSESSION ----------- -------------- -------------- ---------- EUG 441 EUG 0 (0i0f) EUG 6/45y EUG 30:15 AUR 508 AUR 2 (2i0f) AUR 3/33y AUR 29:45 PASSING RUSHING ----------------------------- ------------------------------- EUG 34/51 381 YDS 4 TD 0 IN EUG 19 CAR 60 YDS 0 TD 0 FLST AUR 26/34 337 YDS 2 TD 2 IN AUR 29 CAR 171 YDS 3 TD 0 FLST SCORING SUMMARY --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1Q 07:45 AUR 7-0 QB Roscoe Draper 6 yd Run (K Saban Ruiz PAT) ---------- 1Q 02:15 EUG 3-7 K Layton Firth 33 yd Field Goal ---------- 2Q 11:15 AUR 14-3 QB Roscoe Draper 20 yd Run (K Saban Ruiz PAT) ---------- 2Q 01:15 EUG 6-14 K Layton Firth 48 yd Field Goal ---------- 2Q 00:00 AUR 17-6 K Saban Ruiz 56 yd Field Goal ---------- 3Q 14:00 AUR 24-6 QB Roscoe Draper to WR Antonio Cobb 10 yd rec (K Saban Ruiz PAT) ---------- 3Q 09:30 EUG 13-24 QB Franco Drummond to TE Ezra Haines 2 yd rec (K Layton Firth PAT) ---------- 3Q 04:30 AUR 27-13 K Saban Ruiz 30 yd Field Goal ---------- 3Q 00:30 AUR 34-13 QB Roscoe Draper to WR Cruz O'Connell 33 yd rec (K Saban Ruiz PAT) ---------- 4Q 09:15 AUR 40-13 HB Magnus Lowe 35 yd Run (K Saban Ruiz PAT missed) ---------- 4Q 08:30 EUG 20-40 QB Franco Drummond to WR Laith Travis 26 yd rec (K Layton Firth PAT) ---------- 4Q 04:15 EUG 27-40 QB Franco Drummond to TE Tim Hardy 8 yd rec (K Layton Firth PAT) ---------- 4Q 04:00 AUR 47-27 KR Adam Ramos 100yd kick return (K Saban Ruiz PAT) ---------- 4Q 00:30 EUG 34-47 QB Franco Drummond to WR Donald Bell 11 yd rec (K Layton Firth PAT)

Rochester missed 3 FGs, had 1 FG blocked as well. Late in the 4th quarter, Rochester executed a PERFECT goalline stand from the half yard line, denying Newark the TD 4 times. Newark did not help their cause there as they passed 4 times in a row trying to score the game winning touchdown. But as luck would have it, Rochester took over at their own 1 yard line and immediately gave up a safety! Thankfully, Rochester's defense held Newark in check for one more drive to secure the win. 5. Moving forward, I will provide a game to game review as I chronicle the TTFL. I will provide some visuals as well to help enhance the readers experience in following along.
  6. WESTERN DIVISION AURORA COYOTES - Probably having the most balanced offense in the TTFL, Aurora is led by 3rd year QB Roscoe Draper (29/36 288yds 2 td 1 int; 9 car 18yds) and 7th year HB Magnus Lowe (21 car 104yds). WR Antonio Cobb (10/130 1td) is their best receiver and will catch most of the passes on offense. Defensively, OLB Ianis Gay is a sideline to sideline stud (6 tckls, 1 sack, 1 int) and NT Omer Boyle provides plenty of push and pass rush up the middle (3 tackles, 2 sacks). ALBUQUERQUE GAZELLES - One of the few teams to actually focus on running the ball, their passing game is play action based with 5th year QB Remi Jeffery (16/24 211yds 1 td) seeking to feed the ball to their all world TE Corrie Field (10/159yds 1 td). HB Nazim Armitage (20/72yds 1 td) and HB Keenan Williamson (13/34yds) for a strong duo that can wear defenses down and run play clocks all game long. Defensively, they blitz all game long, which leads to big defensive stops as well as big offensive gains. I love their aggressiveness. EUGENE FROGS - Highlighting a very strong passing game led by 3rd year QB Franco Drummond (36/49 392yds 3 td 1 int; 5 car 22yds), Eugene's strength is really their trio of pass catchers WR Donald Bell (7/93yds 1 td), WR Laith Travis (10/150yds 1 td) and TE Timur Hardy (8/64yds). Defenses will have to pick their poison with this pass offense. On Defense, they are led by DE Subhan Cook who is a monster off the edge (2 tckls, 1 sack, 7 QB hurries; 2 tckls for loss) and their Nickel back, CB Emory Bain, is the best Nickel back in the league. WICHITA CHEETAHS - This team is the class of the TTFL, featuring a ground and pound running game led by HB Atticus Nichols (24/144yds 2td) and supplemented by the great play of 3rd year QB Wyatt Odom (15/18 231yds 4 td 0 int; 5car 15yds). WR Keyan Fowler (4/159yds) is their big play receiver and is a blur running down the field. Wichita's offensively line is the best in the game and are adept at protecting in the passing game and plowing holes in the running game. Defensively, Wichita have good players at all 3 levels with very good blitzing linebackers. This team is my favorite to win in all. SAN JOSE MANDRILLS - Another well balanced offense led by 7th year QB Youseff Gaines (28/36 358yds 2 td 0 int), their passing offense has an awesome trio of receivers (WR Naseem O'Brien (5/115yds 1 td), WR Ibrar Paul (6/85yds and TE Giorgio Davidson (10/118yds 1 td)) as well as a great running game led by HB Eugene Pritchard (21/117yds 3 td). On defense, San Jose is very well rounded with no real holes though they could stand to have their front 4 provide more pressure on the QB (only has 3 pressures all game long). I think Wichita and San Jose will meet in the playoffs.
  7. EASTERN DIVISION MADSION PANDAS - Led by dynamic 2nd year QB Abdur Greer (last game: 22/26 450yds 6 td 0 int; 6 car 14yds 1 td), the Madison offense is very explosive. Their tandem WR corps of Raiden McClellan (8/168 3td) and Stanley Ewing (6/125 2td) will give defensive backfield nightmares. Their run game is used to supplement their strong passing game. Defensively, Madison is not very strong, so must lean on the offensive to outscore teams. Their secondary will get picked on, so it is up to their stout front 4 to bring pressure on the passing game to help protect these cornerbacks and safeties. NORFOLK SWANS - Offensively, they stress the short passing game behind 2nd year QB Tony Harvey (last game: 23/30 171yds 0 td 0int) while also utilizing a committee of half backs of HB Artur Fitzpatrick (5/38 1 td), HB Akeem Moore (12/37 0 td) and HB Shane Lancaster (5/15 0 td). The lack of explosiveness on offense will be an issue all year long as their best receiver is actually TE Ronaldo Hills (6/49 0td). This is team that will struggle to stop teams running the ball (gave up 219 rushing yards and 4.6 yards a carry last game) as their front 7 are fairly pedestrian. Last game, they lost their best defensive backfield player, CB Adeeb Croft, to a season ending Achilles tendon injury (yes, the game has injuries). ORLANDO WARTHOGS - Featuring an offense based on spread concepts, this teams airs the ball out with dual threat 2nd year QB Terrell Kingston (last game: 41/50 370yds 4 td 0 int; 7 car 21yds). Running the ball is an afterthought to this team. Defensively, their front 4 is the strength of the team and boy, do they get after the quarterback (33% QB pressure rate). They will need that pressure weekly as their secondary is not strong and can be exploited. ROCHESTER COCKATIELS - The 'Rock Cocks' as I lovingly call them, are led by veteran 8 year QB Tahmid Zavala who brings a potent passing game to the table (34/44 361yds 3 td 0 int). The offense really has no featured receivers as last game, all 8 wide receivers and tight ends caught a pass. Defensively, Rochester is very balanced at all three levels of the defense and has no real weakness. This team will be tough all year and a favorite of mine to make noise in the post season NEWARK BEES - One of the more balanced offenses in the TTFL, 2nd year QB Kayden Nicholls has gunslingers tendencies that will turn the ball over at times (24/33 314yds 2 td 2int). To help balance him out, Newark has a nice running game led by HB Rayhan Ventura (10/98yds 1 td). On defense, DE Tai Bostock is their best player who gets after the quarterback (5 QB hurries). This team will have issues stopping the pass though as their secondary is a bit on the weak side. I predict Madison and Rochester will be playing for the division title in the playoffs.
  8. Utilizing the very creative team creation tool located within XEG Football (which uses season stats to populate positional attributes), I converted a 10 team league I created with the Flash Football table top game into the TTFL utilizing the XEG Football engine for game play. The game is free and located at https://xegstudios.com/. Though XEG Football does not have the capability for season play yet, the game does have a very nice feature where you input the prior season stats for the teams and the game automatically ages the players, improving some or declining others based on their stats and years experience. Utilizing Excel and the exportable CSV files the game generates, you can easily track weekly, seasonal, career stats, while letting the game engine play out the game (and the game designer provides very copious notes showing you what is underneath the hood for the engine and how the play results are determined). Simply put, this game is tailor made for those looking to replay old NFL, College, USFL, etc seasons. Build your rosters, input your team player stats and away you go. My league has 10 Teams: Eastern Division - Madison (WI) Pandas, Newark (DE) Bees, Norfolk (VA) Swans, Orlando (FL) Warthogs, Rochester (NY) Cockatiels Western Division - Albuquerque (NM) Gazelles, Aurora (CO) Coyotes, Eugene (OR) Frogs, San Jose (CA) Mandrills, Wichita (KS) Cheetahs The league plays a 9 game schedule and the top 2 teams from each division make the playoffs. I have currently completed Week one of schedule with the following results Newark Bees 27 @ 34 Aurora Coyotes Albuquerque Gazelles 17 @ 21 Rochester Cockatiels Orlando Warthogs 35 @ 28 Eugene Frogs Norfolk Swans 9 @ 48 Wichita Cheetahs San Jose Mandrills 45 @ 49 Madison Pandas The next few posts will give a broad overview of the teams.
  9. For all of the graphical sim football fans out there, Pro Strategy Football 2021 came out last week, and let me tell you, this game is a winner. With a big mod community, a very responsive developer (who originally created Tom Landry Football way back when), and tons of options to coach play by play or sim and handle the GM side of the game, which has expanded more from previous versions. On the bad side, he fumbled the ball 4 times (lost 3 of them). On the good side, he scored the game winning TD with :27 left in the game to atone for those turnovers. Birmingham's failure to stop the Los Angeles running game was ultimately their downfall. Offensive Player of the Game - Birmingham HB Rudi Johnson (20 carries 97 yards 1 TD; 4 catches 33 yards) Defensive Player of the Game - Los Angeles S Mike Brown (1 interception, 1 TFL, 4 Run stops)

Denver QB Shaun King was efficient (18/22 209 yards 2 TD 0 Int) while executing the play action passing game behind the potent Denver running game (40 carries 197 yards). New Jersey QB Brian Griese fell back into old habits, struggling this game after 2 great games (17/37 255 yards 2 TD 1 Int). Offensive Player of the Game - Denver QB Shaun King Defensive Player of the Game - Denver CB Corey Chavous (1 Interception, QB Hurry, Run stop, 2 Pass deflections)

Oakland Invaders (2-1) 14 7 14 15 -- 50 Arizona Wranglers (1-2) 13 24 3 7 -- 47 First Quarter Oakland - WR Jacquez Green 8 pass from QB Akili Smith (Feely kick), 3:04 Arizona - WR Patrick Crayton 102 kickoff return (kick failed), 3:29 Arizona - WR Larry Fitzgerald 77 punt return (Gramatica kick), 5:24 Oakland - WR Jacquez Green 20 pass from QB Akili Smith (Feely kick), 12:41 Second Quarter Arizona - HB Deuce McAllister 1 run (Gramatica kick), 0:05 Arizona - HB Deuce McAllister 2 run (Gramatica kick), 2:29 Arizona - HB Deuce McAllister 1 run (Gramatica kick), 8:05 Arizona - Gramatica 30 FG, 13:23 Oakland - HB Ladell Betts 2 run (Feely kick), 13:47 Third Quarter Oakland - WR Jacquez Green 3 pass from QB Akili Smith (Feely kick), 5:11 Oakland - WR Jabbar Gaffney 68 pass from QB Akili Smith (Feely kick), 8:57 Arizona - Gramatica 26 FG, 13:49 Fourth Quarter Oakland - HB Reuben Droughns 2 pass from QB Akili Smith (Feely kick), 4:21 Arizona - WR Larry Fitzgerald 100 kickoff return (Gramatica kick), 4:45 Oakland - HB Ladell Betts 9 pass from QB Akili Smith (Ritchie pass from Smith), 11:38 This was the wildest game in league history. I don't think I have ever seen a game where a team has scored 3 special teams touchdowns and still lose the game. Arizona actually led this game 37-14 late in the first half but could not hold the lead. The defending champion Oakland team showed a resilience rarely seen in winning this game. Oakland QB Akili Smith put the team on his back and refused to let them lose (21/31 319 yards 6 TD 1 Int; 7 carries 48 yards). Despite untimely turnovers and atrocious special teams play, QB Akili Smith just refused to bow to the pressure and continually performed when he needed too. WR Jabbar Gaffney was amazing (8 catches 172 yards 1 TD) and WR Jacquez Green caught 3 touchdowns. Arizona QB Donovan McNabb has really struggled this year and no game was no exception (13/25 127 yards 0 TD 1 Int) and Arizona may be looking at a quarterback change. The only Arizona offensive player that came to play was HB Deuce McAllister (24 carries 122 yards 3 TD) and the head coach will be leaning on his offensive coordinator to refocus the offense on the running game and take the ball out of McNabb's hands. Offensive Player of the Game - Oakland QB Akili Smith Defensive Player of the Game - Arizona LB Larry Foote (1 sack, 1 QB Hurry, 6 Run stops, 1 Pass deflection)
  13. Tampa Bay Bandits (0-3) 0 3 0 15 -- 18 Michigan Panthers (2-1) 7 14 0 0 -- 21 First Quarter Michigan - HB Shaun Alexander 4 run (Lindell kick), 10:55 Second Quarter Michigan - HB Shaun Alexander 69 run (Lindell kick), 2:38 Michigan - HB Fred Jackson 3 run (Lindell kick), 10:14 Tampa Bay - Brown 28 FG, 15:00 Third Quarter No scoring Fourth Quarter Tampa Bay - WR Randy Moss 8 pass from QB Marc Bulger (Baker pass from Bulger), 13:06 Tampa Bay - WR RandyMoss 20 pass from QB Marc Bulger (Brown kick), 15:00 This was a weird game that Michigan had no business winning. Tampa Bay out gained Michigan (454 yards to 363 yards), held the ball much longer (35 minutes to 25 minutes) and converted much more on 3rd down (56% to 22%) and did not turn the ball over. Looking through the play log, they were sustaining drives, but were not executing well when they crossed the 50 yard line until very late in the 4th quarter. That cost them the game along with letting Michigan HB Shaun Alexander go off (16 carries 156 yards 2 TD). Michigan QB Aaron Brooks did not need to do much (10/16 180 yards 0 TD 0 Int) as the Michigan running game ran for 200 yards and 6.7 yards a carry. Tampa Bay QB Marc Bulger played extremely well (27/40 362 yards 2 TD 0 Int) and WR Plaxico Burress (9 catches 138 yards) and WR Randy Moss (8 catches 89 yards 2 TD) were too much for the Michigan secondary to handle. Offensive Player of the Game - Tampa Bay QB Marc Bulger Defensive Player of the Game - Michigan LB Joey Porter (1 sack. 1 TFL, 1 QB Hurry, 2 run stops)
  14. Washington Federals (2-1) 10 20 14 7 -- 51 Chicago Blitz (2-1) 0 17 7 7 -- 31 First Quarter Washington - WR Peter Warrick 98 kickoff return (McGuire kick), 0:25 Washington - McGuire 32 FG, 6:37 Second Quarter Chicago - Edinger 38 FG, 0:11 Chicago - WR Cedrick Wilson 2 pass from QB Eli Manning (Edinger kick), 5:14 Washington - WR Dez White 5 pass from QB Matt Hasselbeck (McGuire kick), 10:07 Washington - McGuire 36 FG, 13:22 Chicago - TE Dan Campbell 9 pass from QB Eli Manning (Edinger kick), 14:19 Washington - QB Andre Johnson 59 pass from QB Matt Hasselbeck (McGuire kick), 14:42 Washington - McGuire 42 FG, 15:00 Third Quarter Chicago - HB Jamal Lewis 45 pass from QB Eli Manning (Edinger kick), 3:10 Washington - WR Dez White 4 pass from QB Matt Hasselbeck (McGuire kick), 8:05 Washington - WR Peter Warrick 23 pass from QB Matt Hasselbeck (McGuire kick), 15:00 Fourth Quarter Washington - WR Peter Warrick 17 pass from QB Matt Hasselbeck (McGuire kick), 4:22 Chicago - HB Sammy Morris 50 pass from QB Eli Manning (Edinger kick), 6:44 Washington destroys the Chicago defense behind (5) Washington QB Matt Hasselbeck passing touch downs (20/32 279 yards 5 TD 0 Int). Before he got hurt late in the 4th quarter with a minor knee injury, Chicago QB Eli Manning continues to be the most dynamic rookie QB we have had in the 2KFL (22/35 328 yards 4 TD 2 Int), but he has to do a better job of taking care of the ball (4 fumbles, 1 lost to go along with those 2 interceptions). The Washington offensive line (C Brad Meester, G Bobbie Williams, G Kyle Kosier, T Kyle Turley, T Jon Jansen) was amazing allowing only (2) hurries all game and 0 sacks, while also plowing huge lanes open for HB Edgerrin James (24 carries 133 yards; 2 catches 32 yards). Offensive Player of the Game - Washington QB Matt Hasselbeck Defensive Player of the Game - Washington DT Ryan Pickett (1 sack, 2 forced fumbles, 1 TFL, 1 QB hurry, 2 run stops)
  15. Philadelphia Stars (2-1) 0 0 7 14 -- 21 Boston Breakers (0-3) 3 3 7 0 -- 13 First Quarter Boston - Hall 28 FG, 9:02 Second Quarter Boston - Hall 35 FG, 9:25 Third Quarter Philadelphia - TE Dan O'Leary 3 pass from WR Tom Brady (Graham kick), 4:13 Boston - HB LaDainian Tomlinson 4 run (Hall kick), 9:25 Fourth Quarter Philadelphia - HB Sammy Morris 37 run (Graham kick), 7:29 Philadelphia - HB Michael Turner 11 run (Graham kick), 14:11 The end of the 1st half saw a sequence that cost Boston the game. Boston was in the red zone when QB Daunte Culpepper threw and interception into the end zone to Philadelphia S Brian Russell. On the ensuing play, from their own 20 yard line, Philadelphia QB Tom Brady threw an interception to Boston S Chris Hope. With :14 left on the clock in the 1st half, QB Daunter Culpepper proceeded to throw another interception to Philadelphia S Adam Archuleta. Has Boston scored any of those TDs, they would have gone into halftime with a 13-0 lead and the momentum. Having stop 2 red zone TDs, Philadelphia rode that momentum to score 21 second half points and the victory. Philadelphia struggle on offense for the most part as QB Tom Brady was not very good (13/21 101 yards 1 TD 1 Int; 7 carries 25 yards) and HB Michael Turner was not able to get hit the holes consistently (14 carries 53 yards 1 TD). Boston QB Daunte Culpepper struggled with those 2 1st half turnovers (27/43 279 yards 1 TD 2 Int; 5 carries 21 yards). Boston starting out the season 0-3 is shocking considering their 2KFL Bowl berth last season. Offensive Player of the Game - Boston WR Hines Ward (9 catches 75 yards) Defensive Player of the Game - Philadelphia LB Ian Gold (3 sacks, 2 QB hurries, 1 run stop)

This game featured 6 lead changes, which does not happen very often. Michigan QB Aaron Brooks was not very good in the air, but killed Oakland with his legs (18/34 253 yards 1 TD 2 Int; 8 carries 100 yards 1 TD). Oakland QB Akili Smith was streaky (20/37 232 yards 1 TD 2 Int) and actually was able to get the ball down to the Michigan 26 yard line with 1:09 left in the game. Unfortunately, he threw the game clinching interception to Michigan LB Sam Cowart, his 2nd interception of the game, to seal the win for Michigan. Oakland HB Reuben Droughns ripped off a couple of big gainers and was steady as usual (17 carries 98 yards 1 TD). Offensive Player of the Game - Michigan QB Aaron Brooks Defensive Player of the Game - Michigan LB Sam Cowart (2 interceptions)
  18. Philadelphia Stars (1-1) 0 0 7 7 -- 14 Arizona Wranglers (1-1) 13 9 3 10 -- 35 First Quarter Arizona - Gramatica 53 FG, 5:36 Arizona - Gramatica 49 FG, 10:18 Arizona - CB Pierson Prioleau 45 interception return (Gramatica kick), 14:39 Second Quarter Arizona - CB Corey Ivy 19 interception return (Gramatica kick), 5:03 Arizona - Safety (P Hunter Smith tackled in endzone by DT Albert Haynesworth), 12:27 Third Quarter Philadelphia - WR Michael Jenkins 4 pass from QB Tom Brady (Graham kick), 4:30 Arizona - Gramatica 37 FG, 7:33 Fourth Quarter Arizona - WR Darnerien McCants 55 pass from QB Donovan McNabb (Gramatica kick), 2:47 Philadelphia - WR Chris Chambers 2 pass from QB Tom Brady (Graham kick), 10:31 Arizona - Gramatica 40 FG, 13:20 Philadelphia giving up 16 defensive points in the 1st half doomed them. Arizona QB Donovan McNabb played ok (18/28 205 yards 1 TD 1 Int), HB Deuce McAllister was steady (13 carries 71 yards; 4 catches 14 yards) and WR Darnerien McCants stepped up big time (4 catches 95 yards 1 TD). The story of this game was the defense though. Arizona's pass rush was relentless, sacking the Philadelphia quarterback 8 times and hurrying him 8 other times for a 44% pressure rate, which is outstanding. The defense forced 3 interceptions and forced 5 additional fumbles (none were recovered though). The Arizona defense just demolished Philadelphia. Philadelphia QB Tom Brady struggled with turnovers (21/36 212 yards 2 TD 3 Int) and just could not survive the onslaught of the Arizona defense. Offensive Player of the Game - Arizona WR Darnerien McCants Defensive Player of the Game - Arizona CB Pierson Prioleau (2 interceptions, 1 defensive TD, 1 forced fumble)
  19. Boston Breakers (0-2) 7 14 7 0 -- 28 Birmingham Stallions (2-0) 0 13 7 9 -- 29 First Quarter Boston - HB LaDainian Tomlinson 10 run (Hall kick), 5:37 Second Quarter Birmingham - Dawson 39 FG, 0:54 Boston - WR Dont'e Stallworth 5 pass from QB Daunte Culpepper (Hall kick), 4:27 Boston - WR Brian Finneran 25 pass from QB Daunte Culpepper (Hall kick), 6:24 Birmingham - HB Rudi Johnson 16 run (Dawson kick), 10:25 Birmingham - Dawson 23 FG, 14:56 Third Quarter Boston - WR Hines Ward 1 pass from QB Daunte Culpepper (Hall kick), 12:57 Birmingham - WR Deion Branch 83 pass from QB Peyton Manning (Dawson kick), 13:24 Fourth Quarter Birmingham - Dawson 35 FG, 2:20 Birmingham - Dawson 38 FG, 10:54 Birmingham - Dawson 41 FG, 15:00 Birmingham was down 28-20 going into the 4th quarter, but 3 K Phil Dawson field goals, including one when time expired, allowed the Satllions to steal this game from Boston. The duo of free agent acquisition HB Rudi Johnson (27 carries 175 yards 1 TD) and WR Deion Branch (7 catches 187 yards 1 TD) were amazing and dominated the game from start to finish. QB Peyton Manning played well and and protected the ball too (18/32 276 yards 1 TD 0 Int). Boston starting out the season 0-2 was not the way their envisioned the season starting after last season's 2KFL Bowl appearance, but here they are. QB Daunte Culpepper played well (19/34 221 yards 3 TD 1 Int), but that turnover was very costly and led to one of the decisive field goals that led to their demise. HB LaDainian Tomlinson was very good in the rushing game to try to keep his team in the game (18 carries 113 yards 1 TD). Offensive Player of the Game - Birmingham K Phil Dawson (5/6 FG, 2/2 XP, game winning field goal) Defensive Player of the Game - Birmingham CB Tod McBride (2 TFLs, Forced fumble, 4 run stops)
  20. Chicago's defense scored 11 points (don't think I have ever seen 2 safeties for the same team while playing FBPro 98) , which were the difference in the game. Chicago rookie QB Eli Manning has ignited the Chicago offense with steady play and the short passing game while also utilizing his escapability to gain yard on the ground (21/33 246 yards 3 TD 1 Int; 4 carries 35 yards). The Chicago running backs, HB Sammy Morris (17 carries 114 yards) and former starting running back HB Jamal Lewis (4 catches 97 yards 2 TD), were the stars of the game. Los Angeles QB Charlie Batch was statistically solid (18/30 301 yards 2 TD 0 Int), but his bobbled snap allowed the fumble return TD and those two safeties were also on him as he held the ball way too long. He has to be more aware of the pass rush. Offensive Player of the Week - Chicago QB Eli Manning Defensive Player of the Week - Chicago DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (Safety, 2 sacks, 1 QB Hurry, 1 Run stop)
  21. New Jersey Generals (2-0) 14 13 3 7 -- 37 Tampa Bay Bandits (0-2) 7 3 7 0 -- 17 First Quarter New Jersey - CB Mike McKenzie 14 fumble return (Scobee kick), 2:38 Tampa Bay - WR Dane Looker 60 pass from QB Marc Bulger (Brown kick), 4:23 New Jersey - WR Lee Evans 14 pass from QB Chris Redman (Scobee kick), 12:50 Second Quarter Tampa Bay - Brown 42 FG, 4:20 New Jersey - WR Lee Evans 96 kickoff return (kick failed), 4:44 New Jersey - TE Jeremy Shockey 8 pass from QB Chris Redman (Scobee kick), 14:49 Third Quarter Tampa Bay - HB Fred Taylor 25 pass from QB Marc Bulger (Brown kick), 7:34 New Jersey - Scobee 35 FG, 13:43 Fourth Quarter New Jersey - WR Lee Evans 4 pass from QB Brian Griese (Scobee kick), 11:07 New Jersey jumped all over Tampa Bay to go 2-0 after a miseable season last year. New Jersey rookie WR Lee Evans (7 catches 76 yards 2 TD; 1 kickoff return TD) has sparked this offense and made life much easier for the passing offense. QB Brian Griese (5/9 30 yards 1 TD 0 Int) was injured early in the 1st quarter, but was able to return later in the 4th quarter. His backup QB Chris Redman played very well (14/20 167 2 TD 0 Int) and moved the ball downfield very well. Tampa Bay may have a quarterback problem. QB Marc Bulger struggled with accuracy (14/26 198 yards 2 TD 0 Int), which considering his weapons at wide receivers (WR Randy Moss and WR Plaxico Burress) , is strange. This offense should be deadly most games. This will be something to watch in the next few games, because this team is built to win. Offensive Player of the Game - New Jersey WR Lee Evans Defensive Player of the Game - Tampa Bay DT Ryan Hale (2 sacks, forced fumble, 3 run stops, 1 TFL)
  22. Washington QB Matt Hasselbeck was efficient (12/18 175 yards 0 TD 1 Int; 2 rushing TDs) and his two rushing touchdowns in the 1st quarter proved to be the difference in the game. Washington HB Edgerrin James was solid (20 carries 84 yards 1 TD) and rookie WR Andre Johnson had a couple of big plays (2 catches 85 yards). Denver QB Shaun King seems to have regressed from his stellar play last season (27/41 182 yards 1 TD 2 Int) as the Denver offense struggled all game long. The one bright spot for the offense was HB Anthony Thomas (17 carries 76 yards; 7 carries 67 yards) who put on a all-around show for the Denver Gold. Offensive Player of the Game - Denver HB Anthony Thomas Defensive Player of the Game - Washington CB Nate Clements (1 interception, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 2 run stops)

Though Los Angeles QB Charlie Batch was not very efficient (17/31 275 yards 3 TD 0 Int), He did push the ball down field and threw for 3 touchdowns. WR Dennis Northcutt (7 catches 123 yards) and WR T.J. Houshmanzada (5 catches 97 yards 2 TD) were a vicious one-two punch for the Arizona secondary. Arizona QB Donovan McNabb was terrible (18/45 153 yards 1 TD 2 Int; 8 carries 41 yards) and could not provide any continuity for the offense. The top pick of the 2004 2KFL draft, WR Larry Fitzgerald (4 catches 33 yards), was ineffective, but some of that was not his fault as McNabb targeted him 16 times, most of the targets were not accurate. Arizona backup QB Brock Huard may need to get himself ready, because a couple of more performances like this from McNabb will necessitate a change. Offensive Player of the Game - Los Angeles QB Charlie Batch Defensive Player of the Game - Los Angeles DT John Thornton (1 sack, 4 QB hurries, 3 run stops)
