  1. Well figured since it is now season 9, I'd give my 2 cents considering that half of the managers in the GHL in season 1 either quit or are relegated. Jezze's cougars' team is still untouched jersey wise since he left, but if we are doing a managers only, this is my current picks: Pelee Island Hornets Wildwood Wolverines Simmersport Saints Kinda surprised that Dave got shafted during season 1 but I really like the Hornet's jersey. It is simple but looks good, and matches the logo. I also liked Mauri's wolverines' jersey. Not many managers strayed off of the regular designs. This may or may not be an unpopular pick, but I like the Saint's jersey too. I feel as though the light blue chest, with white sleeves is original but looks good too with the logo. Just my 2 cents, though there were a few other honourable mentions!
  2. Lol they aren't expiring. I'd explore a depth trade of Rasmussen for lawson with your team though!
  3. Even though no one on attack goes here apparently, I'm looking at shipping out expiring contracts for this season. Make me a fair offer!

    Trade!!!

Looking to move Morin-Valcourt, Knudsen, and Short. Looking for younger options as well as players with term on their deals. Mid 80's players only unless it is a package!
  5. Try emailing them directly. It usually works for me and anders one time said to do that for urgent things
  6. It also gives you a reason to resign players earlier in the year if you know that their demand could change like that
  7. It may still be a bug but I don't personally see an issue with it. I don't think it is cheap since you'd already be resigning them. I find it is more useful for low 80 players in the GHL, since some of them will reject any 2way deal offered to them. This gives them an extra year of growth in the minors and makes it so you don't have to waste a roster spot on a kid who will sit for almost the entire season on the main squad.
  8. This has been around for a while and I actually like this feature. Also 20 year old will only sign an elc contract for about half the season, then it goes to full-on extension. Some people may not like it, but as a cap team it offers me an extra year of flexibility. Plus you have to catch it early
  9. Trade me Lumsden lol
  10. Oh I don't disagree with anything you said except for the part about low salary. As a promoting team you have the luxury of spending more money than other teams, at least in the first season. I completely think it's stupid to see 3 mid 80s vets traded for a 1st, but if you are gonna trade it there is still a possible nice return. For instance, 18 to 21 year olds (20 if you don't sign them at the right time) are locked into elc's. If a GHL team wants 1-4 overall and you trade it for 2 85-90 overall 18-21 year olds and some garbage, that's addition by subtraction. If you have a shit team to back up 1 elite player, you will fail. You may still fail if you don't know how to manage properly but in theory there is a time and place to move the 1st. Also if it is a garbage draft class. I still don't advise it so we are on the same page. Just making a point that there is instances where it can be beneficial
  11. I think trading SHL picks is a bad idea, however, it depends on how you want to build your team. As Rain said, if you want to rush to GHL you can trade the 1st for quality 85-88 overall guys on 2way deals that can still be useful in the GHL. I still am on the side of don't trade it but I think if it is for a few established mid 80's 18-23 year-olds it can be better if it is a weak draft. That way you have a core when you promote. It is all preference-based at the end of the day
  12. Still not ideal with your situation though
  13. Ya I waived him after the playoffs. 62 games and 7 points for a guy getting paid like a decent 1st liner/ second liner lol. I feel like shl isn't as detrimental overpaying as it is in ghl, at least from my experiences. Your salary scale may be higher in ghl, but contracts are a lot higher than shl salary wise
  14. Lol also when you get the classic offer of you give up a really good young player with excellent trade value for an older bad player with only good trade value. Like why would anyone accept that haha

    Playoffs

Why is it that when you get eliminated 1st round of the playoffs, it shows as playoff 2 on the team stats page? Unless we are counting regular season as playoffs 1, seems a bit weird to me
  16. Just wondering if you're missing some player reputation levels Anders? I've seen players (not prospects) with legendary and just saw one with "has-been" as their reputation. Are there any more?
  17. Happening to me too. It works though if you cancel the trade by opening it first and canceling it from in there, instead of using the new buttons
  18. Idk if this should just be a regular forum or here but whatever lol. So in the offseason, I signed an 87 overall center to a 2 year 4.1 mil per season deal. It was already a slight overpayment but I gave a bit more money to reduce the term of the deal. Through the first 5 attack seasons, he scored between 40-60 points consistently. Through 44 games for me this year, he has 1 goal and 2 assists and a 68 performance ratings. For the player he is, he is a HUGE disappointment. I had him deployed on the 2nd line to start the season, then moved him to the top line, and for the last 15 games I've juggled him on the 3rd/4th lines while giving him his usual powerplay time. I'm curious what your most disappointing contract has been (old or new gen). I'm sure there have been worse lol

    Retire

Ya, minor leaguers and players in Europe I could understand retiring, but a player in the top-level should not be retiring young if they are getting playing time in GHL, for instance. Aside from special Patrik Berglund cases, players typically don't lose interest from hockey unless they are always on a bad team, or have a diminished role on the team. I see your point, and for the most part agree rain, I just want to throw out there that a top prospect playing top minutes in the aahl would not retire in real life, even if they were lazy. Your point on development I agree with 100%. Players, especially goalies and dmen, typically don't fully develop until they are in their mid to late 20s. Seeing a bit more development out of 22-27-year-olds would be nice, although I see also how this could create the same problem as old-gen of having too many top-end players. So what I'd propose is having a larger development curve, but also more "busts" or less developed players in the draft. That way prospects would actually develop more like real life, but the game wouldn't have a GHL with only 90+ players. If not that then at least have more noticeable development in the 22-27 age range.

    Retire

I like the idea of players in this game sometimes declining at younger ages if they aren't being utilized properly, but I agree, they should be developing more since mid 20s is their prime. They should either be developing still a bit longer or more rapidly at a younger age, since for the most part it is only 1 or 2 overall per season until they hit 21-ish, then it is max 1 overall gain per season until 24 right now, then 1 every 2-3 seasons until 30ish.
  21. So it looks like it sort of fixed itself. A lot are still not signing but some are now so maybe those draft years just didn't do anything for the CPU lol

    Jerseys

Reading some forum posts and rebranding my team jersey made me think that adding an option to save an away and alternate jersey would be nice. I had a hard time deciding between my 2 designs and it would be nice to have 3 options just for fun. Hope to see this in the future!
  23. Ya that's what I thought at first, but not a single computer owned GHL team has an 18 - 20-year-old in their line up, and I scouted each team haha
  24. Not complaining about that, but it seems very unlikely that anyone would let a 20 year old 85+ player walk to free agency
  25. It appears as though, in attack, none of the CPU managed teams sign any of their drafted players. None of them have 18, 19, or 20-year-olds playing unless they were traded with a contract in place. Furthermore, there are top picks heading to free agency, which for realisticness, that would never happen. Last attack season, a 20-year-old 86 overall player went to free agency after never receiving a contract from the computer over 3 seasons
