  1. Not sure if there's a way to ping Anders to this thread, but on this note, a Computer controlled team just offered me a trade where they would be sending me a player who is in this situation and couldn't be signed, since his rights will be lost at the end of the season and he's with a foreign team. My assistant highly recommended the trade. Fortunately I caught it and didn't accept.
  2. I actually just noticed this and how it says it was fixed in the patch--and I don't believe it was. I just tried to sign a prospect outside of Silly Season (we're now midway through in Mitts) and wasn't allowed. The prospect I attempted to sign isn't 20YO though, but he is with a foreign club. I assume this is going to be included in the next patch. Not sure the timeline on that one because it may be a somewhat major patch.
  3. I'd like to see the ability to mass delete messages, as I just found out last night that messages don't disappear after the 10 page limit is hit--they're still there, and deleting messages returns older ones to the inbox. Similarly, it would be nice to have a 'Saved' folder. This particularly would be useful when given the Midterm Rankings and assistant recommendation for players, as well as what trade offers that teams have declined so I don't keep offering the same two players to a team over and over again. I imagine it would help reduce strain on the database to do this, since I can't imagine having 500+ messages hanging out in my folder is helpful (fortunately I deleted a bunch once I realized that they aren't gone forever once my inbox fills up). Additionally, and I don't know how to fix this necessarily, but having something that can help cut back on the crazy amounts of (x) team has offered (x) player a contract at the start of the season would be great, since messages get lost among that. Once your shortlist accumulates a decent amount of players, these notifications can fill up 5+ pages just when the calendar turns to the next season. I know there's some messages bug fixes coming up in the next update, but these were a few things I was thinking last night!
  4. I noticed this last turn of the seasons in Lumber at least, players seem to be retiring a lot earlier. It may have just been an unfortunate fluke though, but one team I saw (thankfully not mine) had 3 guys retire that were between 32-35. I've had one guy retire on my team before and I believe he was >36. But seeing that team lose three guys has made me really wary about signing anyone over 31. I checked those players to see maybe if they just sucked and nope, they all seemed pretty stable. Personally I'd like to see a HoF and those players 'archived', while the lesser guys are just wiped clean from the database to make sure issues like what happened with Mitts don't happen again.
  5. Unfortunately, he's going to be walking. 20 y/o prospects who are contracted to an AI/foreign team at the start of their final season as a prospect need to be signed during silly season or else you'll lose their rights, despite them still being on your roster. There's no gap or grace period as far as I'm aware. Free agent 20 y/o prospects can be signed as normal until another AI team signs them. Generally, from my experience, AI teams don't offer unsigned prospects contracts until around Day 10 or Day 11, so you have a lot of time to sign them. But, if your guy is signed to a 3 year contract with a Swiss team for example, you have to snag him during Silly Season or else he's off limits (unless they release him, but I'm not sure if that ever/often happens).
  6. Looks like on holiday managers can be traded with again? Just logged in today and apparently the AI traded one of my guys away (and one of my better players) for a pick. EDIT: Straight up ignore me. I forgot which team was which on what world and mistook UAT 'Steam' as my Lumber 'Steam'. I've had a long day. Though, Anders--will there be an attempt to optimize the UAT server? I know the whole point is that it's unstable, but the load times for pages are really killing the ability for me to play since I have absolutely no patience :/
  7. Same here. Not even getting an email to confirm and my former UAT log in is gone. My team was SHL, Dunkirk Mercury.
  8. In "Other Games" (Eastside Hockey Manager, the closest to this IMHO), I believe you can view ten games back, with a 'five game split' summary on the team summary page (which would be a nice feature, underneath 'current season stats' on the player pop-up summary having 76-80-80-82-61 for example). And while it's true players don't USUALLY go on cold streaks that long IRL... I definitely have had them go on cold streaks for that long in game and have seen it happen if a team is at the bottom of the league and lined up against several top guys in a row. Personally, I'd rather see a separate section for pre-season ratings, too, so I have a better idea of how each player is doing but those stats don't show up unless you go into the individual games. It'd be nice to also archive games from the past season or be able to view them. I know there's a lot of database strain issues, but I still stand by saying that if we eliminated most of the players over 40 or nix retired stats for guys who haven't played in several seasons we wouldn't be any worse for wear. Eastside Hockey Manager does this, with stats only being maintained for players who remain in the database as coaches.
  9. I think you mean the Montreal Carey Prices?
  10. I'm having this same issue--I *assume* it's due to aging being frozen, which means our draftees are still 17 and ineligible to be signed. I guess this is the downside to the benefit of stalling due to the bug.
  11. Unless I was due for a gigantic pay raise... Also, if a prospect of yours somehow does have their rights expire and they're signed to another team... I'd say we should agree to allow a trade to get that player back to their rightful team, if that makes sense. If a Computer team loses rights to a prospect though... I suppose free for all?
  12. So it looks like the season rolled over, but player contracts on a whole did not change, nor did players age. I'm hopeful this is a fix for now and we're safe. Fingers crossed!
  13. So you would like him to be able to be signed by another team, or 'off limits'? My 'reserved' list is: Jean Felix-Brayford, Donnie Maeda, Eliah Lantz, and Jean-Daniel Molson, if anyone reads this and has considered signing them... I'd love first shot getting my boys back.
  14. Hey guys, Can I propose another rule? Since there's still an ELC bug and we're entering day 77... I think it would be really nice if we all could agree to delay extending offers to players who were formally on an ELC and belonged to another team. I would like to see everyone able to attempt to re-sign their own prospects. So if you see a 21-year-old, for example, who last played for (X) team and was 'released after not signing contract' on Day 77... could we all agree to wait to attempt to sign him? My prospects developed into the core of my team and, like others, I'm facing losing them. As a BHL team, this is going to hit pretty hard (especially when it comes to goalies). I don't know another way around this. If a player has an offer extended to him by a team that they formerly belonged to... it would be nice to pass on offering him a contract for a bit. I know NPC teams will make offers so I'm at a loss here... I don't know what else to do if we don't get the day frozen
  15. So if we had a player's rights until season 8, didn't sign them off the bat, and they now play for an AI club, they're lost?
  16. I just played a team that changed names between when the game was played and when the box score was posted, resulting in the first star being from the old team and second and third the new team. So that's a fun one.
  17. Was wondering the same thing... I signed them at the beginning of the season because I figured at the end of the season I wouldn't be allowed to since they'll be playing for an AI team.
  18. I know one of the attractive parts of the game is being able to move a team you're freshly taking over... but it's kind of getting a bit much when the face of the league is constantly changing because sometimes they switch owners many times over the course of one season. Is there any way we could maybe 'lock' a team's city location for a season? For example, if an owner takes over midseason, would it be possible to make them required to either keep the team's name or city 'locked' until the start of the next season, where they'd be prompted to allow a one-time name/location change? I keep feeling like I'm losing track of which teams are which, with mascots, names, and cities changing constantly. At the same time, I do like the idea of being able to personalize teams, but... the face of BHL leagues is changing so much.
  19. Silly one, but I'd like to see fights won/fights lost listed, and maybe the ability to set players to *not* fight if they suck. I know you can set tactics to be more polite, but it's obnoxious having five different players get fighting majors and maybe only one of those even capable of dropping the gloves. I don't know if even losing fights hype up the team, though, but if lost fights are a negative influence over all... I'd rather not see my guys trying to fight Chara-like players, destined to lose.
  20. I released a player who was on a six year 1W contract because I'm getting relegated... before realizing he had 6 years left on his contract. Will that cap hit drop off upon relegation because he was on a 1W, or am I SOL and eating that cap hit now? I was planning on using that extra space to try to woo other players into negotiating. Thanks in advance! I want to avoid any sticky situations with the rest of my guys on 1Ws before I try to free space to sign one of them.
  21. Still unable to do so. I don't know if this helps, but this is the player I'm still getting an error on in Lumber: http://www.gameplanhockey.com/goalie?gpid=1484 The player I was able to sign after he became a UFA in Mitts was: http://gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=6519 Thanks in advance!
  22. Hey guys, So this has happened twice now and I can't seem to figure out what to do. When I get to the end of the regular season and try to sign my prospects, I get "You can only offer an extension to a player with an entry level contract at the end of regular season the last year of the contract."-- It's his last year and I definitely want to sign him, and he sounds interested in doing so. The last time this happened (on Mitts), I snatched the prospect back up after he was released--is this a situation where they remain a 'RFA' after they're released? (This maybe belongs in Q&A? Not sure!)
