I was trying to figure out where you are chronologically in the season. If you have not promoted yet/started a new season, then the promotion clause will take effect once the new season begins. e.g. If you are on Day 76 of Season 3 and you offer a contract to John Smith with a promotion clause, that promotion clause will take effect on Day 1 of Season 4.

There are plenty of GHL teams available in UAT Mitts. So far, it's just cbuckser and myself in the top league.

I have not seen a performance hit between forward positions, at least from what I can tell it's not a noticeable one. Playing a D-man as a forward may be a different story, although if he is an offensive defenseman, he may be serviceable up front. Likewise for a forward playing D, if he has a good defensive rating, he my be adequate.

The clause should take effect after you have promoted.

No new issues have arisen, at least not from what I can tell.

It would definitely add to the social networking element of the game, which as CrimsonLumberjacks pointed out in another post, is a massive appeal to this game.

Another issue... Mitts3 is on Day 17 now, but games from Days 15 and 16 were never simmed.

Found one issue already Initial Prospect Rankings just came out in Mitts3, so I went to the Prospect Rankings page. Whenever I click "Go to the player page" I get the "This can't be good" message. This happens with every prospect I select, no matter where they are ranked, 1st-276th.

My team (Bushong Hill Giants, GHL) also has many duplicate players and I'm $30 million over the cap.

I like the idea as it adds a symbol of realism to the game. It could come back to haunt you though. For example, you sign a top-notch center, saying he will see 1st Line action, but he under-performs and you drop him down to the 3rd Line. That, too, is realistic!

Awesome idea! Basically a tryout, NHL teams do this with prospects and farmhands in preseason games.

What?! No Team North America?! Seriously though, I remember having a topic about this before, and a lot of people liked the idea, but it may take a while to implement functionality wise. I'm all for the idea, but I have a feeling it's not on the top of Anders' list. I'd say stick a pin in it for now.

Looks like UAT Mitts is back up and running.

Bear in mind, GPHM is still in a beta phase. I have not seen any marketing of the game (correct me if I'm wrong), and I imagine marketing won't happen until after the beta is ironed out to a full release. I got lucky and stumbled upon GPHM through a Google search for "online manager hockey game." Right now, people are finding out about GPHM through searches (like me) and word of mouth. So, if you to fill up Howitzer with humans, tell your family, friends, colleagues, whoever!
