    Hi all,

Not sure what to call it, but I think it'd be awesome if in contract talks you can not only discuss salary and the amount of time, but also discuss what line you intend / agree to play a certain player in. I think that could be linked to player happiness.

So for example, if you agree to 2nd line for a certain salary, the player will be happy with playing 2nd line, over the moon playing 1st / getting a bonus in happiness and not so happy playing 3/4th line. Something simliar can be done with amount of time played in special teams.

I think the happiness in that case should depend on the amount of minutes spent in a certain line.

On top of that I think it's interesting to begin with in what line up a player performs best - 1st, 2nd etc.

    What do you think?

    Hi all,

I'd like to suggest a player sorting option in the "roster" of the teampage.

I personally like having my players sorted in different manners for different actions.
I think it'd be handy if players automatically / by default are sorted on "overall Q".
When looking for whose the best shooter or defenceman it can be nice to be able to sort on specific skills too.

The same holds up for contracts. It'd be nice if I can sort them by "Number of years left on contract", so that in an instance I can see who's contract about to expire in what season.

I'd be alright if this can be done per position, but wouldn't mind an overall team option for that too.

Also I'd like to add that sorting on performance in the player stats doesn't work correctly.

Maybe make something similar to the Olympics with this game and have an international tournament every few seasons.

The tournament would have 12 teams divided into 3 groups of 4, such as this.

    Group A
    Canada
    Czech Republic
    Germany
    Austria

    Group B
    Sweden
    Finland
    Russia
    USA

    Group C
    Slovakia
    Switzerland
    Norway
    Italy

I know the groups aren't balanced but I'm just trying to get my point across.

There could be an automatic qualifier to the tournament so the best players are showcased since there are so many small hockey nations in GPHM (Italy, Norway, Austria, France, UK, Denmark, Slovenia, etc.) By this I mean the countries are ranked in terms of combined player overall and the top overall nations get to participate.

Whereas the best nations automatically get a spot in the tournament (Canada, Sweden, Russia, USA, Finland, etc). Sort of like coefficients in soccer/association football.

This would offer managers a break during a certain point in the season to regroup and make trades/signings (depending on league position), and it would be interesting to see how your players play against the best.

Maybe players would be able to manage international teams?

    What do you guys think?

I think it would be cool if we could have our prospects play in preseason games without signing them to contracts. It would be a good way to evaluate how well a prospect fits into your lineup in order to see if they are ready for your team and, even if they aren't, it would still be neat to see them play.

Vincent C got a reaction from Yann Rock in Transfer History + hall of fame options
    Hi,

not an instant request, but for a sentimentalist like myself, I'd like to suggest the Transfer History option.
Doesn't need to be anything fancy, but a page where you can review your transfers per year for example would be nice. That way you can see whether a player you let go turned into a star after all, or vice versa.

Apart from the Transfer History, maybe it's also nice to have a hall of fame for the most legendary players in a league over time, or per team. Kind of similiar to the already available player reputation, but a longer lasting one. Perhaps a certain ranking on points, goals, MVP etc list per season eventually leading to a certain player being put in the hall of fame.

Just thinking out loud here. Glad to hear what you all think

Vincent C got a reaction from IneffableLeafs in Confidence level indicator
    Hi all,

I'd also like to suggest a "confidence level indictor" or however you want to call it.
A simple clue on whether the confidence of your player is on the rise, lowering or stays the same.
That way you can see whether line movements, training, contracts, roles etc have an effect on what you do.
I feel like currently I'm blind on a lot of elements of this game. This way if I am away for a day or two, I can see whether my change had the intended effect, without my having to memorise everything.

As stated in another topic, it is nice to know the effect of confidence on performance as well. And for that matter the effect of performance on game-outcome (and stats). This also holds up for fatigue.

    Thanks!

Vincent C got a reaction from GamePlanHockey in Experience so far
    Hi,

I've been playing this game for two full seasons now and I really enjoy it so far.
I like the amount of detail, the stats of the players, the roles, tactics used (for all lines and units), the learning ability and wishes of players.

1: A guide for new and experienced players
My main concern so far is that I miss a guide. Basically apart from the first few steps on what means what when you click on it there is no guidelines or page you can go to learn on what stat effects the game how.
Of course the game should keep it's secrets on some factors, but currently there are so many factors in play it's almost comes off as random - certainly for new players.

I finished 3rd in my first season and 2nd in my second season, so I am not completely in the dark on how the game works. I think it largely depends for a large amount on the quality of players I've attracted and putting them in the right spots, the tactics used and the roles given to players. However, I still miss feedback on what works and what doesn't for finetuning my team.
For example, both my PP-units are fairly efficient (25.2% overall over 56 games). The first unit has F-C-F and F-D on the blue line, the other has F-C-F and F-C.  I've practically selected the highest shooting and passing players I have and combined them on left-right handedness.
The first unit is: playmaker-powerforward-sniper and sniper-offensive
    The 2nd unit is: sniper-grinder-twoway and sniper-playmaker

I think it is useful to have a bulky guy in the crease, so a powerforward or a grinder, but that's just my vision. I have no idea whether that actually has influence on the game as there is no explanation anywhere. I didn't even mention what the style of my powerplay units is, and what the effect of the opponents tactics is.

So what I'm saying is, it's awesome that the game is so detailed, but you also lose track of all the details quite easily. Basically what it means is, I set it once and then mainly focus on putting players in the lineup that are fit and happy. I think it'd be nice if there's some pointers on all these elements for starting players, and experienced ones.

    2. Training
I can only train offensive, defensive or normal - what stats am I training more or less if I set those focuses? What is the effect of hard training? I imagine it makes my players learn faster but tire fastes too, but I can be wrong. Perhaps it'd be a nice feature to be able to set which skills/ability should be focused on.
Is it better to let youngster train hard or not? Or do they learn more playing games?

    3. Injuries
As nice as I think it is to have injuries involved in the game, I would also like to be able to know how that comes to be and what I can do about it. I imagine fitter players to get less injuries and also that playing safe means less injuries than playing hard. It would also be nice to have some option for staff, like trainers and medical staff.

    4. Interaction
I miss interaction in the game so far - practically I could also just be playing this game against AI. I have no real option to interact with other managers. Trading and a transfer platform would go a long way. Also I think it'd be awesome if each league could have it's own seasonal message board so people can interact.

    5. drafting
I know this is a league where you can relegate and promote, but I think drafting could still be an option. Teams can pick on their ranking, promoted teams get to pick first, relegated teams last for players between certain stats. Overall quality of 63-68 for example for IHL, 68-71 for BHL etc. Just a thought that comes to my mind as I type.

All in all I think this is a great simulator and for me the most enjoyable hockey simulator I've played so far! I would have never taken the time to write this down if I didn't enjoy this or didn't want this to be succesful. I hope my feedback helps you and I'm more than willing to think along on how to improve this game further.
