  1. Hi Anders, I'm sure there is a good reason Clapper was paused, yet I still am curious as to why. Can you elaborate on that? And thanks for fixing whatever it is you did fix

Along the line of miracles I actually had a 7 game winning streak ánd was nr 1 in GHL for a while, but hey, reality caught up with me again. Good thing it's Christmas, they can eat all they want, get new strength and bring back that trophy for the first time in franchise history! Merry Christmas to all of you
  3. With the idea of returning next season right? ;-)
  4. if only this season was full of special team matchups
  5. Welcome in any case. How did you end up in GHL lumber then? Is that a possibility with a certain level of success and obviously an available spot? You did get one of the best teams of the league though with lots of depth prospect-wise. I think you'll be quite alright! I am open to trading should you be interested, just sent me a message or an offer
  6. Welcome and good luck to you too, by the sounds of it thing are turning for the better for you. Keep it up!
  7. I agree on the straight to the GHL option. I got it for being a beta-user and chose to be a SHL manager, think that is high enough for any joining manager. I also have not found the cure for my team yet.. but hopefully they will turn things around. On the bright side, my PK is currently the best in the GHL and perhaps my PP will stay intact too, that should turn things around eventually.
  8. P.S. Where does Zhou come from all of a sudden? (Swansea Mariners) ... and welcome of course!
  9. Welcome Rodj, enjoy Clapper! And thanks for your active writing on your team, I like it My team is not on form this season, new team that did great last season reaching the first GHL playoffs in history of the franchise. But it seems to have been a fluke... the youngsters are not filling the gaps and I'm off to fight to prevent relegation for now it seeems. But hey, only 1/3 of the season has been played, it could all still change!
  10. Ah yes, that makes it harder, sorry about that! I have offered you some offensive support, as long as you make more goals than your opponent, who needs backup goalies? ;-)
  11. Thanks Beaver, clearly I haven't been mixing myself in the forum as much lately. This discussion has been going on for ages, I'm happy to give my opinion and suggestions, as I've been playing this game from scratch, but I feel it should be in a dedicated project group or discussion with let's say the French principles of Liberty, equality and fraternity, rather than being focused on CYA or "what's in it for me" @weekKnights, you're welcome to try and set up a trade for Kivi or Mitchell if you see a way ...Might make the difference, or maybe not
  12. I'm curious as to why Tut left, does anyone know? Pity as both the Dutchmen, but also Rhinos were highly competitive teams. I think it's only because of their leaving that I am fortunate enough to be competing for a playoff spot with my youngster team. I feel like the Calgary Flames, talented enough to make it to the playoffs, but generally not good enough to make it longterm I'm curious whether my investment in youth is finally starting to pay off. Had to build from scratch 7-8 seasons back. It is also just very possible I'm not getting the game fully still ;-) Good luck to everybody.
  13. I agree, haunting would not be nice, but is realistic, which I think makes it more interesting to trade and figure out a roster with free agency. For me one of the most important aspects of any managing game is exactly that, managing. And I personally like building, but I think creating "a shortlasting winning"-team also becomes more of a reality with that option.
  14. I like player interaction, but it needs to be complicated I find. Otherwise after two or three times you'll learn what to click on in order to improve confidence, which would be a shame. So I'd say in the current shape of the game it's too complicated for what I'd want player interaction to be. Perhaps a good start would be to have a teamtalk option?
  15. Graphs like that indeed are interesting. Provide easy insight. Perhaps as an extra standings tab? Like the reputation / stats
  16. Hi all, Not sure what to call it, but I think it'd be awesome if in contract talks you can not only discuss salary and the amount of time, but also discuss what line you intend / agree to play a certain player in. I think that could be linked to player happiness. So for example, if you agree to 2nd line for a certain salary, the player will be happy with playing 2nd line, over the moon playing 1st / getting a bonus in happiness and not so happy playing 3/4th line. Something simliar can be done with amount of time played in special teams. I think the happiness in that case should depend on the amount of minutes spent in a certain line. On top of that I think it's interesting to begin with in what line up a player performs best - 1st, 2nd etc. What do you think?
  17. Thanks guys, always flattering to hear ideas being supported, but mostly because I think it would be a great addition to the overall game experience. I agree that the HOF would be empty at first, but we have to start somewhere of course. Perhaps it's also possible to have players already in HOF while still active, milestone achievements or something like that. Although perhaps that's a step back. In any case I think good to discuss and come up together with a shared HOF-format. I couldn't find the topic elsewhere Koekefix, perhaps I'm just blind ;-) As for transfer history, good point on the shortlist-tracking Steve. Although for me I'd like a more permanent overview option. Could be as simple as something like: Player 1 -- team x to team y - season 1 Player 2 -- team x to team z - season 1 Player 3 -- team y to team x - season 1 Player 4 -- team x to team y - season 2 etc.
  18. Hi, not an instant request, but for a sentimentalist like myself, I'd like to suggest the Transfer History option. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, but a page where you can review your transfers per year for example would be nice. That way you can see whether a player you let go turned into a star after all, or vice versa. Apart from the Transfer History, maybe it's also nice to have a hall of fame for the most legendary players in a league over time, or per team. Kind of similiar to the already available player reputation, but a longer lasting one. Perhaps a certain ranking on points, goals, MVP etc list per season eventually leading to a certain player being put in the hall of fame. Just thinking out loud here. Glad to hear what you all think
  19. Hi, What if were to play a 99 goalie and five 99 players in everything on a team that other than them is 80 overall. If I play these five fellows in line 1, 2, 3 and 4 and in all special teams - would they for one game be a constant 99 team? Or would they be drained of their energy after one period? 20. As far as I know you can do this right after the playoffs, but of course before day 77. Depending on the league you're in playoffs end earlier or later.
  21. Hi all, I'd also like to suggest a "confidence level indictor" or however you want to call it. A simple clue on whether the confidence of your player is on the rise, lowering or stays the same. That way you can see whether line movements, training, contracts, roles etc have an effect on what you do. I feel like currently I'm blind on a lot of elements of this game. This way if I am away for a day or two, I can see whether my change had the intended effect, without my having to memorise everything. As stated in another topic, it is nice to know the effect of confidence on performance as well. And for that matter the effect of performance on game-outcome (and stats). This also holds up for fatigue. Thanks! V
  22. Hi all, I'd like to suggest a player sorting option in the "roster" of the teampage. I personally like having my players sorted in different manners for different actions. I think it'd be handy if players automatically / by default are sorted on "overall Q". When looking for whose the best shooter or defenceman it can be nice to be able to sort on specific skills too. The same holds up for contracts. It'd be nice if I can sort them by "Number of years left on contract", so that in an instance I can see who's contract about to expire in what season. I'd be alright if this can be done per position, but wouldn't mind an overall team option for that too. Also I'd like to add that sorting on performance in the player stats doesn't work correctly. V

    Season 9

Hi all, Good luck to the ones still battling in playoffs! I've been out of it for 7 seasons, but good to be back. Nice to see drafts were implemented this season, think it will be a great addition to the game. I wonder what's up with the sudden chances in personality, is there any other way now to tell how talented a player is? Apart from that I still need to get the hang of the tactics, as it seems that changed a bit, or I'm just not as good as I thought I was back in the first seasons ;-) ... is there any logic / guide in it? Other than the explanations with what the tactics are, is there anyone that actually knows these tactics and which ones work well against which for example? And how does home advantage play out? Lots of questions, but eager to play! This season didn't go as I imagined, finishing 5th and losing first round in the playoffs SHL. Anybody with any thoughts on what line they'd create with my current team for example? In any case, good to be back, glad to see more players are engaged!
  24. Hi Bouncer, Unfortunately with the launch of the new beta I can't look up all the details anymore. But I had no SHGs against me as far as I can recall. That doesn't particularly mean it's true haha. A difference in our teams might have been that I did pick Fs with at least 70 in defence as well. So if push come to shove they are not completely uncapable of retrieving the puck. I hope that helps for you. Feel free to ask for more if you want.
