  1. can’t buy a win this season. I expect to at least make the playoffs with my current roster. My guys can’t score to save their lives. Hoping for a better second half this season. Oh well! I will be extatique when my team starts winning more games. :)

  2. Worst start of a season ever. Already lost my best D in a preseason game for 18 days(Bramble, 95 OVR). In game 6 I lost my 2nd best forward for 4 days (Javorsky, 91 OVR). Now, after 3 consecutive losses my best center is injured for 20 days (Olli, 90 OVR). This is really unbelievable, I guess RNG is screwing my team over again. Anyway, if I end up in SHL, I'm probably going to quit. Or maybe this is just the frustration talking.

I hear you. Last season I lost one of my top forwards (Guyard) for the whole season and could never get over it. The amount of injuries I've had in the past two seasons are staggering. I'm hoping to avoid injuries to my top players this season, but you never know.

Your team is so stacked that I strongly doubt you miss the playoffs, but it does get frustrating when your top guy(s) get injured for a while.  The addition of farm teams will help soften the blow in case of injuries compared to previous seasons though.

Best of luck Kim (Except against the Trojans)   ;)

  3. I've always had very good goaltenders, skill wise, but they always seem to let me down when I need them the most. I switched goalies last season and this one is even worse :)

At least I'm still in a playoff spot in the GHL, so yeah it could be worse. Just a little frustrated that my goalie is killing my season so far considering I thought I was going to improve from last season.

  4. Goaltending has been horrible for my team this season. Not too many options out there either to improve in goal. Wondering if I stay with Stulreiter next season or look elsewhere for improvement. For now I'm just aiming for the playoffs.

  5.

Try to get similar trade for Chovanec - you will see the answer from Trojans. Might be laugh, might be polite no, but clearly NO. Unfortunately, the CPU takes quantity for quality if this is better in the trade meter. That is why any trade with CPU, where many players for few, means very suspicious trade.

The answer would be a polite laugh ;)

  6. As I said prior in this thread I want to do such stuff but I am not interested when trades like what is being discussed would only leave me going; "Here is the team that will finish 1st because they exploited the CPU to build a nearly unbeatable team. Here is everyone else."

It does takes some of the fun out of it, doesn't it? The playoffs are always entertaining because it can go either way, but yeah there's usually no contest for the league lead most seasons

  7. I usually try to stay away from the trade drama around here because the managers that have abused the system either think they didn't do anything wrong, don't care or are not willing to fix their mistakes. I feel like nothing will change unless more drastic measures are implemented by the game in prevention of abuse of CPU trades.

That being said, I find the sense of community in our game world a little lacking. I may be wrong, but it seems we all chat here with each other when there is a conflict over a trade others disagree with, but we never actually chat about our teams, our league, players, potential trades, direction of the game, etc.

Just my two cents, back to lurking now :)

  8. I'm also curious about the effect of player happiness on player performance.

It would make sense that it does affect performance since I don't see any other reason to have that feature as part of the game. But that's just a guess though.

To what extent they affect each other is also a mystery to me.

  9. I find that one of the issues with trading with human players is the lack of communication by most. If a trade is rejected, a counter offer or a message saying why they are not interested would be awesome.

Often I get a trade rejected and don't receive a counter offer or a reason why they are not interested. IF you don't want to move that player, make him unavailable or tell me what it would take or simply tell me I don't have anything you want for said player. This is something I miss from H-D, where there was some sort of negotiation and a active chat for this purpose. Here the game world chat is barely used and could help negotiate and keep in touch with other managers.

Also I had decent players available all season and had to trade them to CPU teams since no one  made offers or counter offers on them even though they were available almost form the start of the season.

  10. EXXEO: Best rule of thumb, if you would not accept the trade, don't offer it to someone else.

If everyone followed this, the game world would be a better place. :)

That's what I go by if I trade with a CPU.

In all honesty,  we shouldn't  be trading picks with any CPU teams.

It's really not fair for the new manager and in my opinion is a form of cheating since you are gaining an unfair advantage over managers that don't want to abuse the system.

Don't get me wrong, I'm cool with CPU trades, as long as everything is kept fair and actually give up something of value for what you want and not fleece the CPU.

  11. Just a quick update on Salman Kiss, today he reached 88 OVR rating. Edited the post above as well. As said, he is still improving! :)

Wish I would've kept that guy, but his salary was and is a little much for me.

  12. koekefix I think everyone but Yann is trying to figure out how to resolve the goaltending/defensive performance.

Even though my goals against are pretty low, I'm still looking for defensive help (Top pair D), I think that's the last piece I need at the moment.

But yes, I'm very pleased with my team's defence right now.
