If my GHL Clapper team was in Biscuit I'd trade you some of my high $ 40 year olds for your 35s in a heartbeat.. They are well aged and have a solid two more years on their contracts! (Yup, I know - newbie move! What was I thinking?!!!)

I guess you'v been doing it "wrong" then

I mean if you trade, let's say six, 25-35y old players with 80-85ovr for one 18y old 87ovr player how the heck it's not a win in every possile way? Only scenario I come up with is you'r relegating and 18y has 1W and others not with years left in contracts to lift you back up to GHL.

Still 31 games to go and you are only 5 point behind playoff spot, Steve. Don't give up

I think the last two places should remain the same - Redington used to be a great team, but having half of the team 35+ and basically without change since S1, this cannot work any longer. Scandinavia was raped many times, they don't even have a chance. Otherwise - everything is pretty much open.

Just keep winning   and promote already...before you again lose the next wave for GHL teams
Almost half way through the season and minutemen still outside of playoff picture
Pardon me if I'v just been ignorant, but afaik Oilers is looking strong to make the poffs as a bit of a suprise

+ Always pleasing to end up winning 7-2 games when you expect it to go the other way around

I got reported yesterday (two days ago/Tuesday night EST), which was odd since the only trade I did was with Kim (Vandals, he twisted my arm, haha) which was pretty even up.  Personally, I would rather just have someone message me if they felt I was doing something wrong and hell, maybe offer me a more fair trade, or explain why they feel I am cheating.

I do find that our self policing mostly works, but there are times when it just makes sense to do a "bad trade".  For instance, my goaltending situation has hardly improved in the past 2-3 seasons for despite my best faith in my guys, find myself wanting to find an out.  If I am willing to sweeten the deal to get a deal through, neither I nor the recipient should be blamed.  I realize this is different than some of the matters discussed above by Rich, but perhaps we need to start naming names to give people a chance (both parties and jury members) to explain why they believe it is or isn't an unfair trade.  I have seen that blow up here, most notably with SHL teams and certain team hopping managers, but to get an email from the system accusing me of cheating and/or my account locked for just making an offer, feels a lot like being "guilty until proven innocent."  We're all adults here and if you can't defend your trade, even if lopsided, then we probably don't want you in Biscuit anyways.

I don't recall the exact trade you are referring to in Season 8, but it would be hypocritical to suggest I have never tried to push the envelope with a CPU trade (not sure last time I did one, but am sure I have in the past) or even a trade with a fellow manager.  But this goes to the point right, we either need to rely on some generally reasonable self policing (I don't trade with SHL teams unless I feel what I am offering is something that can help them immediately) or just prevent CPU altogether.  Honestly, since it is such a hot button issue and creates a lot of bad blood between each of us, I say just ban it outright.  All CPU rosters should be locked.  Seems like it would put an end to repetitive conversations like this, no?

    Hi Steve.

You also said this in a previous post: "We're all adults here and if you can't defend your trade, even if lopsided, then we probably don't want you in Biscuit anyways.  "

Please be careful not to sprain your ankle, as you step-down off of your self-anointed soap-box.

I'm one of the ones that reported you. It wasn't for the last trade, but for the AI-team rape-trade you made on Day 12, of Season 8.

Don't mean to pick on you, just get so sick of the constant hypocrisy here.

I'm no better, and have been banned with every team I manage, even for trading with other players.  Will probably get banned for accepting a CPU-offered trade sometime. That will be funny.

All of this judgement of fair-trade stuff doesn't work. Players can't be trusted to police themselves, and Anders doesn't have time to play kindergarten teacher with our little disagreements.

The best way to end a complaint, is with an offering of a solution:
A-) Create a game-world where AI trading is completely disabled.
B-) Create a game-world where AI trading is 100% acceptable even when lopsided.

Of course I would be the only real-player in that B world, right?

bouncer: I understand what you mean and honestly I didnt see that Scandinavia Skyhawks was a CPU... I even don't know since when we can make trade with CPU... and what I want to mean for "clear cap salary" is to clear my cap salary to receive the big salary of that new player since I was near the limit if the trade pass!

also it was a day that I made a lot of trade offer so I really didnt see it was a CPU since in past year we cannot make trade with CPU I think!? I'm not a trade guy so I dont make a lot of offer, I'm still noob at this  lol but for me, the offer I gave for that was fair! they are not useless player at all...(they are ov 83) they can also help that team a lot! also giving my 1st round (12th atm) with a young rookie ov 79 for only 1 player! yes he's one of the best but giving 3 players with avg ov 82 for only 1 player are pretty fair at my eyes

but I didnt abuse of that! you can see in history that I never MAKE trade! only free agent or accept offer from others teams

also I know that making that kind of trade with Trojan which is one of best team there will not be the same thing then with a team in bottom standing who had a big change to be in lower league next season...

anyway I will be more carefull next time I will make some trade offer to be sure it was not a CPU! thanks for your report cause without that, I never knew we can make trade with CPU and Yes Anders may put the CPU trade engine more rude or just put that to OFF like in the beginning of that game! (if my trade was unfair, we have all different opinion about thing )

Steve - yes, I assume Anders can see that, but I also assume he has real work, he is developing the game engine, all new features... and you want him to go through every report in 6 game worlds? That would take him a lot of time from important stuff.

My suggestion would be - disable Human-CPU trades completely. Keep the report button, but only with mandatory fields, where you need to explain what trade/action and why you consider cheating - that will discourage such jokers, who can now only click team cheat button without anything and leave it be. The reporting message has to be read by moderator or Anders and first approved before any action is taken.

I know this means to "employ" some people within the game, which with couple of hundreds managers looks pointless, but this game is very good and I assume the numbers will grow soon.

Because I mentioned names here once and got everything fired back.
About Yu, I was waiting for someone to mention this trade. When Senet asked me his first round pick back we settled things straight. I even gave him more before I traded for the pick. The trade with Yu (his 1st round pick) was more than fair. I gave up a lot to get Yu and I think in the end with that first trade for the 1st round pick and the trade for Yu, it was an unbalanced trade for me.

I hope this guys read this and can PM me for telling me why he think I'm a cheater... I get only 1 trade and Yes I paid a lot to get that player but its also because I need to clear some Cap Salary...

Yes sometime is good to Report but before flooding the Report button why don't you ask the reason of the trade cause that start to annoying me a lil bit receive each time a email because someone think I'm suspicious of cheating...

    Thank You

Steve, your trade was ok. If trade is between two managers (with no complete newbie), then it is almost all the time ok - the trade meter will take care of bad trades. Obviously there might be small portion of trades where the two know each other (or it is multi-account) and one team aims to boost the other, but that is also easy to recognize (and I don't think somebody like this is in GHL/SHL right now).

The more I think about it, the more I am for complete ban of trades with CPU teams. Easy solution (if you are only human in your league level, get a friend or leave for different world - it is boring to be alone anyway). Only CPU-CPU can be allowed. Over 90% of shady business is Human-CPU and report button is also dangerous as it seems to me that one gets message when it is pushed without any human cross-check that it is not just angry click from team that lost to you (why someone wanted to push it for you?).

This will make this game so much better and cheating is usually the critical point of such type of manager game - either you can solve it and you have most of the managers happy and clean, or you will fail to deal with it and the game is ruined for many.

Also I wonder - are there any reverted trades? I noticed that Rhinos are now again CPU as the new "manager" got a lot of reports, I assume, but why the hell aren't the trades reverted? If somebody takes over of a team for a week, makes 10 CPU trades and then is banned, those trades should be automatically reverted - no questions asked.

Although we came back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game with just half a minute remaining, it looks like the changing of the guard will have to wait since we lost in OT. I'd say Protons and Vandals are still the standard-bearers for the league, and they're both gradually climbing back up to their usual spots in the standings.

It'll be a big game for us tomorrow yet again facing a traditional powerhouse in the Grizzlies.

Well, Vandals squeaked by GKs in a SO, Oilers handled Trojans, and Rhinos sent Protons packing, so this season is truly wide open!
    Here are tonight's key contests:

Oilers 3rd VS Protons 4th -- Another big test for Oilers, but if they pass it, does this represent the changing of the guard in GHL?  Or do Protons still have a few tricks up their sleeves for the upstarts!

Two other teams to watch tonight are Grizzlies 14th and Minutemen 10th.  Both are playing teams in the lower half of the standings, which have always been typical easy wins for both.  If one or both continue their slide tonight, how long until we see some big moves?
