  1. A player was just put on waviers in the BHL and it doesn't give me the option to put in a claim. What do I have to do? I am in BHL as well and I have enough money to take on his contract so there shouldn't be any issues. Anybody have any thoughts?
  2. My team (Deadwood Irishman) looks like they are trying to set the record for the most shoot outs in a season. We are up to 12 so far. Is this what life in SHL is like?
  3. Yeah, I made a similar suggestion on the Mitts forum when they were testing the affiliate stuff and Anders let me know that it already existed!
  4. Go to "Manager", "Action", "Settings" and click display affiliate assignments. When you do that the assigned players appear in your normal roster with red script and show all the info of the other players, including parent club salary and length of contract.
  5. My guess is that if bringing a player up to the parent club puts you over the salary cap even though you aren't bringing the player up, the computer thinks there is a cap issue and won't allow the trade.
  6. we tried rejecting the trade and offering it again but we are still getting over the cap message.
  7. Honestly, for some reason I can't. My computer isn't pasting the picture into this dialogue box. The trade was with the Mount Eerie Eagles. I figured out the problem. The trade screen didn't properly adjust his cap. He is gaining 100,000 of salary but it says he is saving 110,000. So, it looks like the trade works.
  8. I am in Biscuit, the New Haven Woodpeckers, and am trying to make a trade with another team. According to the trade screen, after the trade I would be 101,400 under the cap, but when I hit accept I get a message that says "Salary Cap Reached. Trade Offer could not be accepted." There is no reason I can think of that this wouldn't go through.
  9. It happens. Offer the contract again. When this happened to me the player took the contract the second time I offered it.
  10. IMO, I would try to trade him. When I was in LIHL, I traded any of these types of players to IHL teams for players with long term contracts. If you get back a player with only a year chances are he won't sign with you either. When I got promoted, I was even able to sign a few of those guys I traded away when the team I traded with let them go.
  11. Right now, assigned players appear just like prospects on the team/roster page. Would it be possible to have them appear like team players? That way we could have important information all in one place. For example, I like to use the team/roster/transfer page to look at my teams complete contract information. It would be helpful to see how long I have assigned players under contract on this page instead of having to go to their player pages. This also brings up a question... does assigning a player affect his happiness? If so it would be nice to see that on the team/roster/transfer page.
  12. yes, it counts last season and any preseason games in win streaks
  13. You remain competitive with the league you are in. You dropped a league, so to keep the balance fair you get lower draft picks that match the league you are in. You didn't earn higher draft picks. Yes, it sucks that you inherited a team in that position, but the rule makes total sense. I start in LIHL so that I am able to build the team I want without worrying about losing players or draft picks in that way (or at least if I do, it's totally my fault).
  14. Cherokees, I understand your frustration, but it really isn't a stupid rule. How do you expect a team gaining promotion to compete with the rest of the teams in their new higher league if they are still drafting as if they are in the lower? And if they are going to draft at a higher level it must be at someone else's expense. Logically that would be the team being relegated. It's a very smart rule that is trying to maintain competitive balance.
  15. I've been struggling with the same decisions. I actually put my backup in for game 55 and the simulation ran so late I couldn't change back before I went to sleep. I ended up losing game 56 because he couldn't handle two games in a row. So, no more changes for me!!
  16. And all four are worthy. Man, this is a nail bitter of a season. Good luck to the rest of you guys!

  18. Excel: I've noticed the same thing. There is very much some unknown streak factor with goalies. If you can catch one on a hot streak ratings don't seem to matter much.
  19. Yann Rock- interesting comments. I've read a lot of complaints that there were too many great goaltenders available in the drafts. To those of us working our way up from the bottom that always sounded like rich man problems, since it is very hard to find a quality goalie in the lower ranks. I'm sorry it's an issue for you but it's comforting to hear that teams higher up have some similiar struggles!
  20. Ya know... I think I'm kind of glad I'm not in GHL. There is a lot less bickering and a lot more fun down here in IHL!
  21. Excited to be in BHL this year. My Deadwood Irishman have been advancing in a pack with Oretta and Brentwood, so I know some of the competition will be like but am a little nervous about how I stack up against the rest of the league and if any of my favorite players aren't going to be able to make the jump.
