Today, I want to start with the already retired players. And later I will continue with the active ones.

    Artem Bublik http://www.gameplanhockey.com/goalie?gpid=1798

There is already a special thread on Bublik, but I cannot start with anyone else. He was the cornerstone of all of our 5 cups. He has 6 cups in total (one  cup for the French Gulch Black Knights), which makes him second most successful goalie in Biscuit and most successful starter. He retired at age of 40 with still amazing 95 OVR (he lost some endurance, but kept other skill still very high). Despite being cocky and egocentric, he was loved. He would have stayed with Protons longer, but he was a money guy - he was paid $6 390 000 per season in S5 and he asked for similar amount in his late 30's (ended up with $5 575 000 per season with the Thetford Mines Pegasus in S11).
But his stats are amazing - he played in 570 regular season games (553 started - counting only GHL) with OVR performance of 75. He had 73 SO, 92.3 SV% and 2.23 GAA. In playoff he was stable as well - 75 games played (73 started) with OVR performance of 75, 8 SO, 92.2 SV% and 2.29 GAA.
He had most shutouts 6 times in GHL, 6 times best GAA, 5 times best SV% and was named 1st star of the week 11 times (and made top3 of the week 18 times!).

Since this world/server is about to end and this season will be most likely last one (might be even incomplete), it is good time to remember here some players - so I will introduce few of the most important players from the Proton team into Hall of Fame (HOF) in this topic.

    Nolan Daugherty http://www.gameplanhockey.com/player?gpid=15016

Nolan is not technically retired, but at age 41 he is waiting for contract offer and with declination from 94 OVR to 82 OVR, one can see he is no Jagr. But I think there might be big fat contract waiting for him in Russia.
Nolan was for really long time the best or at least among best centers in the GHL. His 99 faceoff skill was really valuable and thus 56.7 FO% si among highest in GHL (he won stunning 6594 faceoffs in his regular season career). And for the Protons, he was top line center in all our 5 cup teams.
Nolan was mostly known for his great two-way play and as top line center for most of his career, he played average TOI of 20:30 with lots PP and PK time. In 839 GHL games, he collected 706 points (257+449), +207 in +/-, 40 SHP, 2568 shots, 1808 hits. He also played 87 PO games with 63 points (23+40) and 56.2 FO%.
He had most points in GHL in S8 - 76 points in regular season.
This tough and nervous guy was a nightmare for PP of the other team (even at age of 41, he still has defence of 99)

Yup, Bublik was insanely good... I acquired him by luck. He asked French Gulch Black Knights (after winning cup there in S2) insane money to resign, so he went to FA and I got him for much more reasonable salary... the salary got higher with each season and more cups, but we managed to afford him and he worked hard for every dollar. His number of shutouts is insane and he got us all 5 cups / so you can correct that he has 6 cups and he was in the GHL finals for 9 times including 7 in a row. But in S10 the salary demands started to increase again and our cap situation was too tight, so he went to FA once again. And we didn't win any cup since then.

Calculated on day 5 of S15, using:

    Team OVR = (OFF + (DEF x 2) + (SG x 2))/26

    where
OFF = Combined overall of 12 best centers/forwards
DEF = Combined overall of 6 best defenders
SG = Overall of starting goalie (best overall goalie in team)

In case of a tie for team best ovr skater, career performance rating for current league level was used as a tiebreaker. After that games played on current level, and then points.

Yep, Pohorelec and Honda with 91 OVR and only 36yo. Bublik was not loosing any skills at 40, but at that age, I would understand it. Muller was too young to retire. I think Boller and Hartig are losses to their teams as well.

Lol, I guess you have pretty ugly cousins

Anyway, back to math class for you

But I think that more interesting is the fact that 7 out of 11 last PO finals (including this season) were between Vandals and Protons and only one final (in S12) was without either Vandals or Protons (since S4 inclusive). For me, this is impressive and I guess for the rest of the league, this is very annoying Sorry about that.

Between Protons and the Vandals, you guys have won 8 of the last 10 GHL titles (6 Protons/2 Vandals) with Vandals trying to repeat.

Trying to root for one of you in this series is like trying to decide which cousin I should try to kiss at the family reunion.

Great game for the GHL championship last night between Vandals and Protons.  Protons had it won (likely) had it not been for those two costly penalties in the 3rd and the 2 PPGs from Vandals that gave them the 1 goal victory.

Trying to decide who to cheer for is a lot like watching the Knights-Caps series, either way, we all lose!  haha.

    Hi,

Hopefully a relatively simple suggestion to enhance the messages feature on the manager page. Recently went through a team haul and signed a few new players. They all accepted at once, which meant I had to individually delete 10-12 messages at once.

Is it possible to create an email inbox style page to read messages and select a list for deletion? In fact, replicating an email inbox with mail read, important, unread, etc. functions would be handy.

Otherwise, game is built really well. Really enjoying it, thank you!

Just noticed that those of us that have been in since the beginning and/or have a lot of playoff games are surpassing 1,000 games played! Hard to believe but shows the staying power of this game since each match is no more than once a day!?!? What have I been doing with my life?!?! Haha.
