  1. Anyone looking to go all-in for the playoffs?

We are willing to listen to offers for (D) Tadros (Violet Volcano). He is arguably the best player in Biscuit.

Even at 36: league leader in D-man points; shots; hits; blocks; takeaways, and near the top in performance ratio.

His -7 in +/- is due to the coach always matching him with our worst D-man.

Our hope for the return are steep: a first-pair D-man between 22 and 26, plus a future #1 center, but we'll consider other offers

  2. Mitts has been frozen for about 8 days now, just like The Wizard said.

    -

(Not a complaint, because we understand that Mitts is a prototype game-world, wherein it is a privilege that we are allowed to play.)

    -

At least the players will be well rested for the playoffs...

  3. Good idea Exxeo.

Perhaps there should be some restrictions, to prevent new managers from trading-away the future?

Example: Only after managing the same team for 4 seasons, would the manager be able to trade-away their 2-year-out future picks; and perhaps an 8-year manager, could trade away the 3-year-out picks?

    -

The worry is that some managers in desperate situations, will give the house away.

  4. Howdy Gentlemen.

Mittsy has been paused for about 3 days or so.   No info in the timer-information bubble.

    Any news?

(Would rather get the heartbreak of another playoff upset out of the way, before Christmissy time.)

  5. Hi.  There has been a bug that started in Mitts, around the same time as this new update.

    Related or not?

Anyways: the in-game PM's from manager to manager haven't been working for about 2 weeks.

  6. Indeed: The ghost-manager was none other than Nicolas.  He brought his new management style, and kicked the curse, and managed the team to 1st place in the SHL, and a promotion to the GHL!!

Congrats to Nicolas, for accepting the challenge, and proving that he is the best manager in Lumber, and perhaps all of GPHM!!!

(Well: better than me anyways.)  ;)

We have quit the franchise, while changing the team name to: Coto-De-Caza Taco-Eaters.

Now: The Culdesac Valkyries have been reborn in the LIHL. (We took over the De-Motte Venom, 15th place LIHL).

Thanks to all of our cheering fans, and maybe we'll see ya at the draft.

  7.    Noticed the extra details on finances and cap, and it's very helpful.

Nice update to the game-timer as well.  Would it be possible to see the game timer before logging-in?

Like on the main-page: a little box containing all of the different gameworld timers?

Not sure if the auto-call-up from assignments was in this batch of updates or not, but had a slight bug with such a situation:

After a trade went through: 3 players were called-up from the minors, and a game was played before I was able to log-in and do anything.  The 3 players were listed in the line-up for the game, but didn't actually get any ice-time.  So only 15 players got all of the load, instead of the usual 18 from the lineup.

    The 3 players are: ©Broz; (F)Dupil; and (F)Delaney.

UAT: GHL: Blackville Blacks: Season 15: Day 52: Round 46.

Thanks for everything that you do.

  8. Thanks Neural.  You are very generous with your kindness, and that is a wonderful quality.

The team is currently being co-directed by: Jeff, the Zamboni driver, and; Chuck.

Chuck is a 48 year-old poutine-eater, who has never played hockey since pee-wee, and neither coached nor managed a team before. But he is a lifelong fan, who likes to call-in to sports-talk radio shows, and tell them all what the GM's should be doing.

  9.      Ladies and germs, and most specifically,

all of the GHL managers who were boasting how great they are in these forums a few months ago.

We will be abandoning our Cursed franchise: Culdesac Valkyries (SHL).

After 21 years of failure to promote from the SHL to GHL; we give up.

Muscled-out of 2nd place with 2 games left, by a franchise with 9 lvl90+ players,

then drop-kicked in the playoffs by a team with lvl 78 and 80 centres, low yellow team winner-instinct,

and their best two D-men injured.  Oh you say: just a stroke of bad luck. Wrong.

It's been similar uncanny, unbelievable bad luck for 21 frigging seasons.

Including another one after being in 2nd all season, losing game 60 to the 16th place team to fall into 3rd, then again bounced by the 6th place team in the playoffs.

Also multiple other playoff debacles, untimely injuries, monkeys in the dressing-room, you name it.

So: we give-up.  We will abandon the team, and try to get the 16th place team in the LIHL to start-over again.

Here is your challenge: take-over this Cursed franchise, and prove without any doubt,

and for all to behold, that you are indeed the best GPHM manager in all of Lumber.

You will have to abandon your GHL team, and no: we don't want it.

Send us an in-game message, to express your interest, or ask any questions.

  10. Greetings.

GW Howitzer, BHL: Well, it's day 65, season is drawing to an end.   On any kind of professional team, the GM would already have solid plans for the next season's lineup.

We have 13 active lineup players on the last year of their contract, and only 2 are willing to negotiate a new contract.

So we have 11 players in our current lineup, whom will not negotiate, only saying: "I'm happy with my current contract".

As you all know: this could lead to an utter disaster for next season.  The problem is less severe in the GHL, as at least the player won't price himself off of the team, unless he's not a real keeper. If he's a real keeper, then the GM will sign him, and work the cap around that new salary.

But in the lower leagues: it's more difficult to plan and balance.

It's good not to just complain, but better to try and come-up with solutions along with the complaint.

So how about a contract deadline day, by which the player must let management know his intentions. (EX: is he willing to negotiate, how much salary he wants, no chance, whatever.  Just let us know, or we'll cut-off the "extra benefits", from Irma, the team's masseuse.

How about day 37?  At the very latest: day 57.

Cheers, and hope you are all enjoying this cool game.

  11. Thanks for the report. And yes, you're right. I would have waited longer to install the update if it wasn't for the important bug fixes to solve the delayed simulation issues.

Question. Do you remember if that player had a multiyear contract or a one year? If he was contracted next season too, then his salary must fit both season salary caps before being recalled.

    Hi.  Thanks for your reply.

Yes: the player was on contract for the next season, and his salary was above the $460 000 that was available in cap-space for that following season.

If all of the players that are on affiliates have their full salaries counting against the following season's cap: that will make thinks difficult to plan and maneuver.

  12. Huh. There's a team in BHL that is choosing to scratch all of its higher level players (even one that is 84ovr), and play its lesser-skilled players. Funny.

And it is being GM'd by a rookie who has played a total of 37 games... over 5 seasons!

    Can we call bullsh1t?

That in itself is not enough to make any judgement call.

There are 5 games left in Clapper S20.    If their position in the standings is already established, they could simply be trying-out some prospects, to see how they handle some serious playing time.

Have done it many-many times.  Will usually look at player stats around 55-58 games into the season, and then play any player that is at 0 GP.  Because 0 GP is ugly on a player-card, and also sad in a lonely puppy kind of way.

  13. Good suggestions Fangowolf and BFGore.

When a player is injured "game-to-game", we can't immediately tell what that is, but the game knows,  The two ways of seeing his down-time are: As FGW mentioned, or by clicking on the preview of your team's next game, it shows the injury report at the bottom.

I think someone suggested it a couple of weeks ago, but it would be nice to see a small version of the current injuries on the main team page. (Possibly bottom right, under the "Team Rankings" table. )

With all of the extra messages now generated by having affiliate teams: it sure would be helpful to be able to delete multiple messages.

      Enjoy your summer everyone!!

  14. New bug encountered: Mitts GHL playoffs.

Am unable to recall players.  Get a pop-up that says that we don't have enough salary-cap space, but we have over $6 million place this season, but only about $460 000 for next year's  salary space??

Perhaps the system is only looking at next-season's budget?

Sorry to complain after the fact: but it probably would have been more prudent to let the season roll-over in UAT, before doing the update in the regular game-worlds.

UAT: Mitts; GHL; Blackville Blacks.   http://uat.gameplanhockey.com/team?gpid=65

Sorry. Don't want to just complain.  The affiliate teams are pretty cool so far.

  15. Ok.  I see said the blind man.

That is rough indeed.  If it's any consolation: your team won 8-2 yesterday.  So just trust them, and enjoy your vacation!

    Just kidding.

Hopefully: Anders will be by to check this out soon.

(Did you try the "Ctrl + F5" power page reset?)

  16. Well: They say misery loves company.

Often feel the same way, looking at the stats after a game, often find myself remarking something like:

" Oh great!  Another goalie that's had his best game of the year against us!"

Similar thing sometimes with average players having 3-point games, but that does happen in the real-world, so it's nice to see for our team, but frustrating when it seems to happen to the other team, like 4 games in a row.

  17. Hey Renegades.

       Personally didn't report you.

Must say though that you did make a lot of trades, but none immediately stands-out as being dishonest.   (Didn't examine deeper values.)

Perhaps got reported on the quantity of trades, and amount of picks involved.

Still repeat my position:  The banning system is unfair, as it exists now.

Would be nice to have zero-trades with AI gameworlds, and bar-open AI-trading gameworlds.

Take the human judgement level out of the equation.

  18. Seems like a bad glitch, wherein the AI thought you you didn't have enough eligible players, so the auto-manager signed-up about 19 players for you "at the very last minute".

The programmers will probably want to look into this, so here is the URL of your team:

    http://www.gameplanhockey.com/team?gpid=79

Any info you can provide on the lost players, would be helpful.

  19. I hope so!

What is your Mitts team? I'm SHL Spartans and haven't had any players get better at all. I have noticed the goalie thing too!

Look forward to facing your Lumber team tonight on my quest to climb from the bottom of the standings.

Hi MNLK.   Thanks for your message.  Didn't see it 'till now.

We are currently managing the Blackville Blacks, GHL in Mitts.

Having a good season with some good young talent.  Thinking of dropping team, and returning to bottom of LIHL if we can win the Gold-Cup, but hard to give-up when we get a little attached to the teams and players.

How is your season going?   Weird to manage with all of the declining players eh?

  20. Seemingly at the same time as the player-decay bug started: goalie performances had fallen through the floor, with the leading goalies barely having a .900 save-percentage.

But now: the goalies are all all-stars, with .930; .940; and .950 performances over the first 12 games of the new season.

So perhaps the player-decay bug will be corrected alongside the goalie performances?

Or maybe I'm just free-associating two things that are completely separate.
