    Hi Jer

Think I understand what you mean. Yes, as you missed the playoffs you will remain in the IHL next season. That means that you have the same salary cap restrictions as you have today. If you don't have any space left you can't offer one of your players a raise until you have created more space. This can be done on two ways. As you mentioned you can release one of your players and take the penalty. You might also try to trade away one player for another player with less salary.

If you have any outgoing contracts those players will automatically be released the last day of the season without penalty. Then you will have more space. It can be quite hard to keep good players in a lower league if they develop fast since they're looking to play in a higher league and therefore have higher salary demands. If a player have unreasonable high demands maybe the best thing is to let him go.

    Good luck

Former Northshore here. First timer in GHL! Hoping to stay and finish higher than Buckingham Breakouts I was planning on staying one more year in SHL to grow my team to make sure I won't drop back immediately, due to scars left by other manager game. But after a x-x-1-12 roll on first 15 games I made few changes and boosted by an 11 game winning streak I ended up winning SHL so I was promoted. FA might have been even too kind for me and can't wait for the season to start! Altought according to friendlies it's not going to end too well

    Hey Everyone!

Been playing since back in the Prototype days with Yucca Vikings/Grizzlies and now Canmore Grizzlies since Canadian cities were added (although I'm a Brit Canmore, AB is one of my favourite places)

Started off game world Biscuit in the BHL and managed to pick up a good crop of young players from FA, most of those players have seen me through getting promoted back to back seasons to the GHL.

I would have been happy with a mid table GHL finish in the first season there, but after a couple of good trades we quickly found ourselves pushing for the top of the table. Again I was happy to ride this out and not sacrifice any of my young players in bad trades for a quick win and we ended up finishing 3rd just a few points behind the leaders. Then came the playoffs and we somehow rallied all the way to winning the Golden Cup!

Pretty much unchanged for Season 4 other than a couple of depth free agent signings so I'm hoping for a good year :-)

Good luck to everyone this season!

Goalies get injured just its very rare and very short. It would kind of be overwhelming every couple games having to change your goalie due to fatigue and then have it get injured the next game. Plus goalie injuries in real life aren't that common either, James Reimer and Price are the only big ones that happened so far to starting goaltenders in the nhl I think

Yes that's true, goalies may get hurt even for longer periods. But it's very rare.

Hiring of staff is a high prioritised feature that I've been wanting to add for quite some time now. I'm hoping to release this feature in the next couple of months. It's only on the sketch board yet, but it will most likely include hiring of coaches, scouts, doctors, agents.

What a coach could add to the game is something like; game breakdowns player by player, boost training for players, team reports, suggestions of best lines, suggestions of game tactics.

    Hi.

My team is Bermuda Sea Lions (because i like seals and Sea Lion was the closest i got.. also Bermuda was "funniest but still familiar" place i found)

Currently playing BHL. Last (2nd) season ended 10th and this (3rd) season i have much younger and less talented (but potential) team.. and my goal is to stay in BHL so i don't lose these potential players. I'll also try to re-sign my 1-way contracts to be 2-ways so in case of dropping i'd atleast keep my future stars. It also gives me some moving space in case farm-teams are introduced in a few months. I think it would take 2 seasons to either win league or progress in play-offs (assuming i won't relegate to ihl this season).

I started maybe 2 weeks before beta was released and i have played manager games for more than 10 years (with longest game lasting about 7 years in freekick.org until site was hacked and creators took it down forever). I like soccermanagers (because they tend to be better made) but i prefer hockeymanagers (because it has so much more potential and i feel like this game, this site would finally unleach it).

Hey, Steve from the U.S., but living in Sri Lanka right now. Started in the beta last winter and have been chasing Yucca up from the Bronze league since the relaunch.
