Giving it a shot in a slower World. Took over the last team in the World I believe. Can't wait to build some close relationships in this World and make it to the top! Let's see how we do in our first season
I'm just getting the feel of my team (Kingston Assassins in SHL) atm, so feel free to send in any offers, suggestions, etc. I'm willing to listen to anything right now
I'm quite sure we could get some of the vets back as well. Like Scorevat, Renegades, etc.
Definitely agree that the draft and affiliate systems would really begin to make sense in this format. There'd be a point to "tanking", etc. I think even just building the community via the human-human interactions is quite an incentive by itself to get this World started.
I'm not sure what the demographics are with the GMs playing GPH...I know a more than a few are NA-based, so we'd all jump at a chance to play something that embodies the NHL structure, with some tweaks perhaps.
Just thought I'd create a thread to continue the discussions in the chat. Some of us were wondering if an NA-style World would be possible. NHL format. 30 teams (or the 31 if u wanna be legit ). I can almost guarantee that we'd have enough people sign up for that. With a World fully composed of human GMs, I think we can definitely use that as a point to grow the community and keep people interested in the game.
I know the new Dangles World was kinda created for similar reasons, but honestly speaking, I don't think its had a positive impact in any sense. Feel free to disagree
@Anders, could we please put some real thought into this matter? I've brought this up a few times now in the forums, but its always kinda died out since we don't really get anything started.
Just a thought that came to some of our minds as we were discussing in the chat. What if we could disable computer trading completely? Instead of the Day 20 deadline, how about just getting rid of computer trading totally?
I feel like we could definitely try this, especially with the new Worlds. I'm sure it'll fill up pretty quickly, and we could keep it really competitive between human managers.
@Anders, could we please consider this before the Day 20 deadline hits?

I guess I'm making a parallel between us putting effort into searching for certain players and RL scouts finding players to draft, sign, etc. I suppose there's gotta be a balance between making the game like RL and comfortable for GMs as well.

@Erzac, I see what you mean. However, that's not how it works in RL right....yeah, you can sort through databases of players' stats, etc. But you can't really do that with personality types (in GPH - Profiles). That would be something even scouting would reveal little about (off-ice stuff involved as well). So, it kinda makes sense that we sorta need to manually sift through those things, but pairing those filters with your team personnel efficiency might be an idea worth looking at. Just something that came to mind as I was reading through the above posts, didn't really put much thought into how it would actually work.
Come to think of it, I suppose you could make a case that even in RL, you would be able to get an idea of a player's Profile via their contract history, performance in big games, etc. For example, if you want to search for Big Game players, you'd look into player history in Elimination games, Tournaments, Playoffs, Game 7's, etc.
Hope that kinda makes sense. Sorry for the rambling
