  1. Do you ever sit there on Sunday shaking your head as your favorite team blows yet another game? Do you watch the head coach call the wrong play and let out a sigh of frustration every time the wrong name is called on draft day? Think you can do a better job? Here’s your chance to prove it!

Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2020 is now available for Win-PC. DDS:PF20 gives you total control over your favorite franchise. Make just the big decisions like who to draft and who to sign or make all the decisions even right down to creating and calling your own plays. If you have ever wanted to be a general manager or head coach this is your shot – it is the most realistic football simulation you can find today!

One of the most exciting new features in this year’s game is the brand new custom play builder! Yeah you read that correctly – now we will see just how good of a football mind you have when you take to the custom play builder. Create offensive and defensive plays, set multiple actions per player and enjoy the total control you have to build the perfect playbook for your team. You can even import and export playbooks so you can share yours with your friends in the community!

The improvements to game strategy only start with the brand new custom play builder. There are new offensive and defensive formations, late game offensive situational strategies, new offensive and defensive strategies for QB tuck and run and aligning man coverage and totally revamped end game logic. Simulation football has never felt this real!

That’s not even close to all of the new stuff you’ll find in DDS:PF 2020. The team has given you even more control over customizing your league with settings to let you control coach progression, training camp gains, in season training gains, scouting points and the ability to create your own user-configurable overall formula.

Players and coaches come even more alive in DDS:PF 2020 with all new player pictures, team jerseys and coach outfits. New in game news articles and magazines give you a more in-depth look at players and news from around the league and more stats like “targets” for receivers are now in the game.

The interface has also received a refresh with some new additions like mini player cards when hovering over player names, the ability to see play diagrams before calling plays and even weather layers so that you can watch the 2D action unfold on the frozen tundra.

Don’t spend another minute on the couch thinking about how you could do it better – prove it right now with Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2020.

  2. Hello Everybody, It is now time for this weeks devlog where the focus has been on optimizing recruiting, since it was just implemented very quickly in the beginning with no clear overview on which players the human team have made contact to. Recruiting The first thing we have implemented is a view where it is possible to see all recruits which have been offered, accepted or rejected a scholarship. The second thing we have looked into is the possibility to put recruits on a watch list so it is possible to easy find them later on. This is also done since we have added both freshmen and sophomores recruits, which you are not allowed to offer scholarship to until the recruits are at least juniors. The rating for the recruits will also change each new season so a freshman can be a 2-star talen...

  3. Hello everybody, We are now ready with a new release, and this time it is a release where we really need the help from you out there. Loading and saving The main focus for the release is saving and loading of a game, so we need to test that everything is working as planned. We have added saving of a game under the settings menu and loading of a game is done from the start menu. At the moment the saving takes a couple of seconds while the loading takes between 1 and 2 minutes, so please be aware of that when testing. Transfers We have also included a minor update to the transfer. As soon as a transfer has been approved the player will get transfered to the new team where the player will either be allowed to play right away or has to sit out an year. If sitting out an year the player is sti...

  4. Hello everybody, This is only a small update since at the moment we are focused on one feature only and that is to get the loading and saving of a game to work. We have implemented almost all the functionality and are currently looking into optimizing it. Both in performance and in the size of the saved game. The most important part is the loading/saving time but we will also try to keep the saved game as small as possible. At the moment it is only possible to load a saved game from the start menu, but maybe later we will add the possibility to do it when in a game. As soon as the functionality is implemented we will release it as a test version so we hope to get some help testing it, even that we know that we might have some optimization to do. Please remember to use the forum at http...

  6. Hi everybody, Now that our vacation is over it is time for the next biweekly release. Bowl Games The focus of this release is optimization of bowl games and especially how the selection for the different bowl games are made. One of the main things is that you need to be bowl eligable in order to get invited to a bowl game. Minor updates On the GUI we have made a few minor improvements to the depth chart view, so it is now possible to see the overall rating for a player on the depth chart when hovering the mouse over the player. The same overall rating is also shown on the team squad We have also started on a start menu. For the next release we are thinking about focusing on loading and saving of a game, so we need the option to be able to load a game, and that makes most sense to do from...

  7. Well fans we’ve had a lot going on recently but #FeatureFriday is back and in a big way as we take a look at one of the biggest new features coming to Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2020 this year….the custom play creator!

To say this feature is a game-changer would be an understatement. The custom play creator gives you the utmost in control. You already can set a very detailed and extensive gameplan in DDS:PF 2020 but this is a whole new level of control! It’s a coach’s dream – your football acumen against the AI’s (or in multiplayer leagues another human’s). Can you build the better play? Can you build the ultimate playbook? Just how well do you know football?

Now before we dive in let me preface this by saying this is an optional feature – if you’re a player who just enjoys the GM side of things and doesn’t revel in the details you can turn this feature off and multiplayer leagues can do so as well if they wish to do so but we sure think it’s going to up the challenge level if you’re creating plays and playbooks to beat your buddies! Best of all you can even share your playbooks and import them into the game so if you’re in a generous mood feel free to share your creations with the community!

As you can see there is alot of detail and options on this screen but hey, football is a complex game. You can create plays on either side of the ball but for this post we’re going to look at the offensive side. Start with choosing a formation – I’m going with the Spread formation here because I want to air it out! I’m choosing a pass play and you can see there are a number of options available each which can change based on the formation you are using. You get to choose your preferred range on the pass as well as the area you want to target. You also get to set what roles you want the RB and TE to play – in my case I want everyone going out for a pass. The more options the better, right?

Now here’s where the real fun begins. As you begin to set actions for each player you will see their routes or duties appear on the chalkboard at the bottom. The WRs in this setup have nearly 40 actions themselves they can perform! The number of different plays you can create is immense because there are so many choices. You can even set multiple actions. Maybe I changed my mind and wanted my RB to block at first and then release for a pass. You can do that!

When you’ve got a beautiful play finished don’t forget to give it a name and save it and then add it to your playbook. After that get out there on the gridiron and watch it unfold in our physics based 2D gameplay engine. Can you imagine the feeling you will get when its 4th and goal and you need a touchdown and you pull out the special play you designed just for that situation? You see that TE break off on his quick slant, watch the QB fire the ball to him and see him haul it in and listen to the crowd roar as you see TOUCHDOWN on the screen! Just don’t hurt yourself with all the pats on the back you will be giving yourself for being the next Vince Lombardi.

There’s no other football game out there that can give you this level of detail and control and really make you feel like the decisions you are making are impacting your team’s chance to win or lose. We can’t wait for you to get your hands on the play creator and see what kind of plays you come up with. Make sure you hit us up on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook when you want to brag about how your play won the game for you and don’t forget to comment below with your thoughts about the new play creator!

  9. Hello everybody, Bowls In the past week we have been doing a lot of work on optimizing the selection for the different bowl games. We have implemented a number of new bowl games so the total is now at 40 bowl games in the game, where the conferences have tie ins for the different bowl games. In the process we have also added a new screen, so it is possible to see which bowl games the different conferences have tie in for. Two of the things still missing and the focus for the next week, is to allow some of the independent to participate in some of the bowl games and to change so it is only teams who are bowl eligable who will be able to compete in the different bowl games. Scheduling While doing some testing for the bowl games we noticed a couple of issues with the scheduling. One of the...
