  1. I have a player that just retained his $4.3 M contract from the GHL after being relegated to the SHL...he still has no promotion clause and is still a two way...all other two way contracts had their salary adjusted already. How does that happen?
  2. Is here anyway we could see a few more details as to what certain simulations are? For instance, I have like 8 offers out to managers right now and due to relegation I'm a bit stressed out because I'm afraid my top guys may just suddenly disappear - POOF! and then there goes my chance at getting anything in return. Boy this sucks...it won't be done simulating for 30 minutes, which means my guys may be long gone before any manager can react
  3. Oh man… I think I just experienced the worst of all statistics which lead my team to relegation . After defeating the outlaws 6 to 1 in the first game, game two and three just look absurd. During game 2 and 3 we outshot their team and during the 6-1 victory we were outshot.. In fact, in game 2 they only put up 15 shots between the last two periods. It doesn't help that my top rated Defenseman got injured during Game 2 but when you look at the team overall ranking in PP and PK it makes me scratch my head how game 3 ended. The end of season stats has our team at #9 in PP and #1 in PK. Game 3 started with us going up 2-0 but then by the second finding ourselves all tied up. We take the lead, 3-2, in the 3rd but what follows is strange. We hadn't let the Outlaws score a single PP goal in the previous two games and I can't remember the last time my PP has let in a SHG (in the regular season). They get a PP goal to tie it up and then get a SHG to win the series...seriously?

    S24 Trade Talk

Well apparently My team doesn't like being in the GHL, so that means that all of my one-way contracts are open for trade on day 77. Just looking for prospects or pics to take down with me to the SHL. Feel free to shoot me a message and we can coordinate the trades before day 77… Cheers!

My experience with the GHL relegation playoffs has been pretty easy going (I've seen too many of them...) but after a loss last night I'm getting a bit nervous about today's match. Having my top rated Defenseman go down for three matches isn't going to help anything either...bah!
  6. Let's say you have two players that have similar attributes and overall ratings. Both have similar traits but one develops a bit faster while the other tends to slightly put up better numbers. What is the best solution that you have found - draft a better developing player or choose the player who seems to score more now?

Yup, a solid re-brand could bring in more fans and coax interested players to join your squad - ha! A fan base would be an interesting aspect to the game

    S13 Trade Block

I have one player Adamec who is in the Trade Block - he's an 86 OVR C on his last year of contract. He wants $3M for the upcoming season - we can't afford that. Looking for centers, prospects, or picks.

    Talk about stuff here
  10. Today's Storm win is a good example of my perplexing confusion. We had a seemingly daunting match against the 1st place Steelheads who were 9-1 going into the game. We lost our backup 1st line center (the original was out for half the season) and were defeated in every statistic possible except one - goals allowed. My goalie killed it today but he had to make 43 saves on 44 shots. And a few days back got 6 scored on him as we got shutout. This game is crazy! Never know what's going to happen. Now to figure out what the heck to do for the next 3 matches as my two top centers are both out to finish the season
  11. Yup, totally agree- not trying to debate that
  12. I'd be ok with that as well.
  13. I like the control aspect quite a bit. It's so dang hard to monitor fitness in the Affiliate leagues and I would gladly hand off my better prospects to train in a controlled environment where they could potentially train harder and retain health.
  14. Over the past several seasons Pingu and I have developed a great interactive set of transactions. We have recently even made a few three way trades from the BHL up to the GHL. It's been rather fun. Our newest endeavor is diving into the talks of player loans. In Biscuit, I'm in the SHL and he is in the GHL and so to offer up a draft pick to give a developing GHL prospect extra experience and my team to get a temporary top notch player...well it makes sense for both of us. The hard part is trust at the moment. While we have developed a good working relationship and trust, not everyone would be apt to send down a great prospect to not be sure if they'd get them back the next season. All this to say - what if in our trade options we have a box that we could check that would make a loan possible. For instance let's say Pingu wants to send a goalie prospect down for a season to develop with my team and wants to make sure he does get returned, then he could check the loan box and it would already schedule a return on day 77...or whatever the term would be. You could also designate players for loan in the player transfer options to let other managers know who would be potentially available. The two things I foresee needing to be worked out/necessary would be to make it only Manager to Manager and not allow the CPU to be involved with it - just too many weird situations to sift through. The second would be how the trade fairness bars would see a loan rather than a direct trade. I feel as if both teams win on a loan so a first round pick wouldn't make as much sense to me to be on par with the player on loan as they would only be there for a season. Let me know if you see any other openings for expanding this
  15. I wanted to wait until a few things got worked out with the trade system but now that CPU trades are more stringent I think this may be a good time to suggest it. I like the idea of being able to offer up two seasons worth of draft picks. I think that opens the floor up for a lot of different trade options and could make manager interactions more in depth. For instance; player loans would be easier to negotiate having the option to offer up a next season 3rd round pick etc. Let me know what you guys think.
  16. I think I underestimate tactics Paul...I feel as if it's something that's a bit understated because a lot of what you're saying makes sense. I tend to run Puck Possession at the moment so I expect my guys to be able to retain the puck more but I think ultimately what needs to be evaluated (by myself) is why the lopsided losses make sense...guess I'll just have to do some more digging statistically.
  17. I'm still so confused as to what I need to do to win in Clapper. In the last few games I've won against teams that are better than mine and also lost one in overtime while on the road to the #4 team - but hey, when you're in 13th place with two of your top scoring players injured, a point is a point! Most of my wins have been with my team having less overall Puck Possession, less time in the offensive zone, and less shots on goal. Going into last nights match I figured my team, having a new format that seems to bring success, would have a great chance at another Winn against the 14th place team on my home ice. We had 9 more shots, a higher puck percentage, and were in the offensive zone 53% of the game and we lost 1-3. Not to mention, all players beside two performed within the green or blue...even my goalie at a 77. My whole point in bringing this up is not to complain but to ask what he heck is happening so I can reverse these results. In order to get out of the bottom four in the GHL, something has to change somewhere. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  18. I guess my confusion comes when the bars change and the only thing I did was have a player who's already playing just play more time for the injured guy and then designated a different leader because said injured guy was a captain.
  19. There has been some discussion about this topic in the chat box here and figured it may be a good subject to hash out a bit more. The idea is to try and better engage the community. I really enjoy the chat box in top of the page here and think it would be great to see it in a similar format that sits on top of the browser rather than in the manager tabs. I know there were other ideas discussed as well so please throw those in here too.
  20. Well we had a five game winning streak, lost a game and then lost in a shootout earlier today. I went back to see how the team was looking and now the Confidence is OK, the Teamwork is Good, and the Winner Instinct is back to OK (and in the blue again). I'm really confused. Also, the Confidence bar is at like 90% Green but we're just Ok in that department while the Teamwork is near 75% and Good...and how do I lose Winner Instinct???

My team is very generous and full of thoughtful players...glad we could assist by getting the snot beat out of us today
  22. My Clapper team is currently on a decent streak. I just had one of my defenders (who was my captain) go down for a few days. While he was away I assigned a new temporary captain to fill the void. When making that change nothing was altered on my team chemistry (Confidence: Good, Teamwork: Good, Winner Instinct: Ok) . Now that I brought him back my team stayed the same in Confidence, dropped to OK in Teamwork and increased to a Strong Winner Instinct...what the heck?

It's a Christmas Miracle! I think for the first time in my GHL career the team managed to get in a 5 game winning streak! This may be right up there with the Cubs winning the World Series!

I had several 3rd place finishes while in the BHL but none come as close to promotion as last season for you - I mean 50 wins and no promotion...that's just absurd!
  25. It's difficult sometimes to see how a player is progressing based off of the current bar system. One could take notes as to their last known locations and track gain and loss but what would be nice is a bit more simplistic overview. What if when you went to the player's progress tab you were then able to see one of four progress bar colors to show growth and decline. We could use the same colors (red, yellow, blue, green) as a foundation for this. Let's say that a player is increasing but at a slower rate at faceoffs then the bar would show as blue for slow progress while a different attribute on the same player could be increasing quickly and show a green color bar. Likewise, there could be a player that has some digression and his bars could look yellow or red depending on how fast those traits are decreasing. This would give a GM a better understanding in how their players are developing or decreasing and maybe even give a little insight into how training alters specific training rates. Thoughts?
