  1. 2026-2027 SEASON - JANUARY What a season this has been so far. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we could win forty plus games by the end of January. Sure, when the season started I had little doubts that we would seriously challenge to repeat as NBA champs, but we are on the verge of one of the greatest seasons in NBA history. Can we top the 2016 Warriors 73-9 record, not likely, but the mere fact that it's still a possibility at this point in the season is astounding to me. Also, the Dallas Mavericks are shredding the league. The Mavs have now won twenty consecutive games and appear to be virtually unstoppable. Can they surpass the Lakers record of 33 straight wins? Probably not, but they are clearly the class of the Western Conference and I would be very surprised if they don't make the NBA finals. 2. 2026-2027 SEASON - DECEMBER By far this has been the best month of basketball we have ever had during my tenure. Nearly perfect, except for the single loss to the Spurs, but I'm not complaining. We have the best record in the NBA, although we do trail the Hawks and Mavericks in the power rankings. That's actually a little hard to fathom, because we are ranked 1st in the league in points-per-game and rebounds-per-game, plus our offensive rating is 5th and our defensive rating is 2nd overall. No matter, we just keep winning games and that's all that matters. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, so I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride. GO BULLS! 3. 2026-2027 SEASON - NOVEMBER Fantastic month of basketball and no one can complain about a 16-4 record. We are currently ranked 7th in offense and 8th in defense. We are the 3rd ranked team in points-per-game and 2nd overall in rebounding. My only concern at this point is Steven Adams. He was relegated to a backup role just before the season started and although they say winning cures all ills, I don't know if he is going to remain happy coming off the bench, despite coach Stein has been providing him with plenty of minutes. 4. 2026-2027 SEASON - OCTOBER Good start to the season. We had a few injuries along the way, but nothing too serious. Head Coach Brian Starks has made some changes to the lineup, moving center Justin McCuthison into the starting position. The means Steven Adams has now been relegated to the bench, but so far no real complaining from Adams, despite the fact that I know he wants to play. I decided to send Viktor Florakis down to the D-League to get some minutes. I still have a high regard for Florakis, I just want him to get some floor time. 6. 2026-2027 PRE SEASON REPORT I'm still basking in the glory of a third NBA Title, the owner is super happy, I have the entire starting lineup returning for next season and my job security has risen to 100%. All is good and it's time to get to work on the repeat. First is the draft...ugh...I never feel good about the draft and I always come away thinking I totally screwed the pooch. We had the 4th pick overall (via OKC) and I had my sights on small forward Terry Rosen. The mock draft had him falling to me with the fourth pick, but he went second overall, so I went with who I thought was the best available, PF Lee Askew. It's possible that I may have taken him too early, but I like his potential. Bosl...I still think he was a good pick at the 30th spot, despite what that idiot J.P. thinks. Harris was the last pick in the draft and I don't think we will retain him on the roster, but we'll retain his rights so that he can go play overseas. Since I didn't get the small forward that I was looking for during the draft, I reached out to the Celtics and sought a trade for Viktor Florakis. Florakis is only nineteen and played in Greece. He is raw, but has a ton of potential. He won't have an immediate impact, but I think he can be a superstar in the future. Boston must have thought so too, since they picked him with the sixth overall pick. Prying him away from Boston wasn't easy and I gave away a lot to get him, but he is now a Bull. Let's hope I was right about him. Contract wise, we have our entire starting lineup returning, but Bradely Beal was going to be a free agent at the end of the season. So, I either have to trade him, let him go to free agency or offer an extension. I did the latter. Yes, Beal is thirty-three years old and he's not getting any younger, but he'll save me over $7 million next year and $5 million the following year. Beal will be thirty-seven in the final year of his contract, but I should have his replacement by then, but he'll be a $30 million dollar backup, so I'll probably have to trade before then. I don't normally like to resign players nearing their mid-thirties, but Beal is a very good player and he provides stability to the lineup. Too many times I've been forced to trade away talent because of the financial constraints place by the owner, this time I decided to end that streak and maintain some team continuity. It may cost me in the end, but I'll worry about that when the time comes. Free agency...what to say. Players want insane amounts of money and if your at or over the cap, like we are, your not competing for any real talent. We needed to fill some rosters spots, so I simply waited until there were only a couple days remaining in the draft and picked up some role players. However, since we were already over the cap, I was going to have to get creative and utilize some exceptions to fill out the roster. We desperately needed some depth at shooting guard, so I offered a one year mid-level exception contract to Markelle Fultz and he accepted. Next I offered point guard Spencer Dinwiddie a two-year $6,358,346 to provide experience and depth at point. The Dinwiddie acquisition will also allow me to send both Bosl and possibly Askew or Florakis to the D-League to get some playing time that they would not normally have gotten riding the bench. In the end we will start the season $30.4 million over the cap, but at least we won't be paying any luxury tax. DRAFT Let me just say that J.P. can suck it. You know who I'm talking about. That talking head who critics everyone's pick during the draft. One minute he's blathering on about how Marcus Bosl is the best player still on the board, then the very second after I select him, I should now be fired for doing so. Personally, I can't say I'm entirely thrilled with any of the guys I drafted. I know it was ultimately my decision, but it really makes me wonder just how much I can trust WSSN or even my own staff. Sometimes the draft seems to be a complete crap shoot and I suppose it is in real life, so I'm not complaining, just pontificating on the subject. Truth is, they all look great until you actually draft them. Maybe they'll develop into great players, but this draft seemed more like pin the tail on the donkey...and I'm the donkey. Lee Askew - PF/Georgia Tech (1st RDPick #4) Marcus Bosl - PG/UCONN (1st RD/Pick #30) Brandon Harris - SF/Butler (2nd RD/Pick #60) TRADES Chicago Bulls trade SF Justin Shin, 2027 1st RD pick and 2029 1st RD pick to the Boston Celtics for SF Viktor Florakis and 2027 2nd RD pick. 7. 2025-2026 OFF SEASON REPORT OWNER MEETING Jerry was thrilled, but he also didn't pass up an opportunity to mention that I'd spent a little more than we'd agreed upon. Whatever...at the moment we are $4.4 million over the CAP, small price to pay for an NBA Title if you ask me. Jerry probably spends that much on his dry cleaning. Man, this owner is hard to please. I give him three NBA Championship's in seven years and he's still penny pinching. Then again, my job security percentage went from 20% to 100%, so there's that. Anyway, Jerry called me back a few days later and we discussed the up coming season. I told him we were Championship material and that he wouldn't have to pay the luxury tax. He actually seemed okay with that and with the salary cap increase, less free agents, we will head into the new season $19.3 million over the cap and need to sign four bench players. Plus, we will get Oklahoma City's 1st round draft pick, which just happens to be fourth overall. PLAYER CONTRACTS Not much to do with player contracts this year, as the vast majority of the team is returning next season. I was able to extend Marcus Donovan's contract following the playoffs. His salary went from $7M to $25.7M with a 7% increase over the next three years. Honestly, for a player of his caliber, that's getting off cheap, because virtually everyone of his peers is currently getting $30+ million a year. I also went ahead and exercised the rookie option on Center Justin McCuthison. That leaves PG Joe Chealey, SG Rawle Atkins, PF Travis Jefferies and SG Robinson Wilson, who will all become free agents at the end of the year. STAFF CONTRACTS All four members of the coaching staff have three years remaining on their current contracts. ---------------------

  9. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - NBA FINALS (GAME 5) !!!THE CHICAGO BULLS ARE THE 2024-2025 NBA CHAMPIONS!!! The Bulls left now doubt who was the best team in the NBA, scoring the opening basket and leading wire-to-wire in a convincing 125-109 victory. Seriously, the game was never close. The Bulls led by as many as twenty points, the game was never tied and New Orleans never once had the lead. It was a truly dominating performance and a fitting end to the season. So...the title is ours...now it's time for me to get to work. Oh, I'll savor this championship for a short while, but Donovan is going to be a free agent at the end of the season if we can't find a way to keep him. It will probably put us over the cap, but coming off an NBA title, I think even cheap ole Jerry Reinsdorf will be willing to open up his pocket book to keep this team together for another year. Besides Donovan, Joe Chealey, Rawle Atkins, Travis Jefferies and Robinson Wilson are all eligible for free agency at the end of the year. Honestly, all I care about is Donovan and I'm going to do pretty much whatever it takes to keep him on the roster. 10. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - NBA FINALS (GAME 4) The Bulls P.J. Washington may have led all scorers with 38 points, but it was Player of the Game, Dejounte Murray, who stole the show. Murray had 29 points, 13 assists, 7 rebounds and 7 steals to lead the Pelicans to victory and stave off elimination. The series now shifts back to Chicago for game five, where the Bulls are certain to be the favorites. Obviously, I'd like to end the series in game five, but in the event that the Pelicans are able to come away with the victory, I've been assured that Brandon Ingram will be able to return to the lineup in a matter of days. Let's hope we don't need him. Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 OT F W CHI(1)| 26 | 34 | 27 | 23 | -- | 110 (3) NOP(2)| 33 | 25 | 34 | 34 | -- | 126 (1) ---------------------
  11. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - NBA FINALS (GAME 3) The Smoothie King Center was rocking and Zion Williamson gave the crowd their monies worth. Williamson was simply a one man wrecking crew, scoring 37 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Alas, it takes five players to make up a team and Zion did not get much help from his teammates. Ultimately Pelican fans would go home defeated, knowing that they would now have to sweep the Chicago Bulls to win their first ever NBA Title. A tall task when you consider the Bulls are 50-3 at home this year. From the Bulls perspective, this an unexpected surprise and as the saying goes, "Their loss is our gain." We are now poised to win a ninth NBA Championship, the third of which has occurred during my tenure as GM. Not bad considering I was nearly fired at the end of last season and my current job security is at a lowly 20%. Off to game four...could we possibly sweep?!? 12. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - NBA FINALS (GAME 2) Unlike game one, there was no tug-of-war battle in game three. The Bulls got off to a slow start, trailing by eight at the end of the first quarter, but managed to battle back and tie the game by the end of the first half. The game was a series of runs in the second half, but the Bulls eventually pulled away and held on to win by nine. Player of the Game, P.J. Washington, led all scorers with 35 and grabbed 11 rebounds. So, we win both home games against the Zion led Pelicans and we do so without the services of Brandon Ingram. Before the series began, I don't think many would have predicted that outcome. Of note, Justin Shin has played well in Ingram's absence. Shin played twenty-nine minutes, was 5-8 from the field, 3-5 from three and 3-6 from the free throw line. Not exactly stellar numbers, but he did finish the game with a plus/minus +24. Now we head to New Orleans for games three and four. It will be a difficult task, but it would be great if we could steal a game on the road. 13. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - NBA FINALS (GAME 1) EPIC! In a word, that's how I would describe game one. One of the greatest games I've ever had the pleasure of being apart of. It was a tremendous battle that saw twenty lead changes, seventeen ties and required overtime to determine a victor. The Player of the Game, Chicago's Marcus Donovan, led all scorers with 35 points and added 12 assists. I must admit, when P.J. Washington fouled out with 5:37 remaining in regulation, I thought we were doomed. However, we kept it close and were tied 116-116 with 0:26 remaining. Unfortunately we didn't have the ball and everybody in the building knew who was going to get the ball. Sure enough, Charles Wallace, another former Bulls player, found Zion Williamson in the post. He bricked his initial shot, but somehow got the rebound and hit the bucket. The play-by-play announcer shouted "How in the world did he get that one to fall!" and we called a quick timeout. We inbounded the ball with only 0:11 remaining on the clock and Donovan found Steven Adams in the paint, but he was quickly fouled by Wallace. Adam's went to the line and missed the free throw, grabbed his own rebound, missed the shot, grabbed the rebound again and then hit a jumper with 0:03 on the clock, sending the game to overtime. In overtime the two teams traded buckets, then with the Bulls up 135-134 with 0:29 remaining, Donovan drove to the basket and was fouled. He hit the first free throw, missed the second, but got his own rebound and was fouled again. This time Donovan made both free throws and the Bulls are now up by four with 0:24 left in overtime. The Pelicans Jrue Holiday got a good look, but missed the shot and then immediately picked up his sixth foul when the Bulls grabbed the rebound. Donovan made both subsequent free throws, securing game one for the Bulls. What game! It was terrifically tense and a thrill to pull off the win, but it's a seven game series, so we can enjoy the victory for now, but there is much basketball yet to be played. 14. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - CONFERENCE FINALS (GAME 7) Eastern Conference Champs! P.J. Washington poured in 31 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the Bulls 119-114 victory. The Bulls will now face off against the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA Finals. Unfortunately we will do so without the services of Brandon Ingram, who injured his back and will likely miss the entire series. That leaves us with Justin Shin as our only small forward. Shin and power forward Jermaine Baker will share the small forward duties, but Ingram's absence leaves a very large hole in the Bulls starting lineup. 16. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - CONFERENCE FINALS (GAME 5) Thank goodness Donovan is back in the lineup. We have a very good starting five, but our bench isn't as deep as it has been in the past. In case your wondering and you probably weren't, Chealey did play five minutes in the game and he didn't take a single shot. He did go 2 for 2 from the free throw line, but at least he's not shooting. Anyway, we head back to Orlando for game six and although it would be great to end the series on the road, I'm pretty certain we're going to a game seven. 17. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - CONFERENCE FINALS (GAME 4) With game four in the books and the series now tied at two games a piece, it's time to have a serious discussion with coach Starks about the play of Joe Chealey. If I had my way, he'd never touch another basketball in Bulls uniform. Unfortunately, I can't actually release him and I don't want to force the situation by taking over the depth chart, but he can't play again...ever. I'd rather lose with our rookie point guard than let Chealey back on the floor again. Some might say that I'm harshly judging Chealey, but I disagree. In three games he is 9 of 41 from the field, ZERO of 35 from three and he just keeps shooting. Thankfully, Marcus Donovan is healthy again, but I don't want Chealey on the court again, so I went into the depth chart and removed all of his positional availability, but that didn't work. So, I went into commissioner mode and changed his playing style, changing Pass to 100 zero's in all else. I also reduced his range to 100 in the Post. That should keep him from chunking up anymore bricks...I hope. 18. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - CONFERENCE FINALS (GAME 3) The Chicago Bulls Joe Chealey is on a mission and I assume that mission is to become a professional mason, because he is laying bricks left and right. Historically speaking, Chealey's ineptitude might be the two worst playoff performances in the history of the NBA. Over the course of two games Chealey is 4 of 25 from the field, "ZERO" of 25 from three and 5 of 8 from the free throw line. Honestly, if he doesn't stop taking shots, I may release him just to prevent him from playing. 19. 2025-2026 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - CONFERENCE FINALS (GAME 2) Despite point guard Marcus Donovan being sidelined with an injury, the Bulls were still able to come away with a convincing fourteen point victory. What wasn't convincing was the play of Donovan's stand-in, Joe Chealey. Chealey made only his fifth start of the season and over the course of 42 minutes he was 1 of 18 from the field, 0 of 14 from three and 1 of 3 from the free throw line. Wow...that is monumentally bad basketball, but a win is a win and we'll take it. P.J. Washington was named the player of the game, with 23 points and 13 rebounds. It was primarily a defensive struggle, interrupted by moments of utter ineptitude. Neither team shot well, play was generally sloppy and both teams seemed to be in a contest to see who could turn the ball over the most...but as they say, "Somebody's gotta win!"
