  1. Excellent job Baden congrats! My series was an exercise in blowing leads lol. Probably too much tinkering down the stretch, not to take anything away from my opponent, the Thornbury Steelers. They owned me in the reg season and stuck it to me pretty hard in round 1. Oh well, on to next season. Best of luck to you guys still in it to win it!!
  2. That was fun. What a good season. I'm looking forward to another one in the IHL. Also looking forward to these playoffs. Should be a fun ride. Best of luck to everyone!!
  3. Aww schucks, thanks lol. Looks like my season finale is... you guess it...Dunkirk Disaster. That means Badens playoff hopes may be in my hands? Better get out your lucky Tariq Lima bobblehead and hope the Cherokees can pull out a win for ya! Finish strong and see u n the playoffs!!
  4. It's been a wild season in the IHL and my Cherokees are walking a tight rope. Coming down the stretch and clinging to 3rd place, we've been active in the trade market looking to make some upgrades and add some depth. The team called up 1st round draft pick Victor Skvortsov for a cup of coffee, and he bangs home 2 goals from the 4th line, including the game winner! I guess he's earned himself a 2nd game. And with Baden's Skyline breathing down my neck, we're going to need some guys to step up and have a big game. Game 4's tonight with a lot on the line in these tight standings...Best of luck!
  5. Revenge!!! Rookie phenom Topi Niskala records the hat trick as the Cherokees even the season series with the Skyline. And the injuries keep coming lol. We even had a good scrap. The rivalry continues to brew.....
  6. that was a pretty good whoopin you put on me in our 1st official meeting Baden. Even injured my top line center man. Payback for the preseason injury i suppose.... I guess a little bad blood is good for our budding rivalry lol.
  7. Sorry about the bumps and bruises there, Baden. Guess my guys got carried away. If that pre season game is an indicator of how our season series will go, then it should be a hoot lol. We'll have games 10,25,40 and 55 circled in red! Best of luck!!
  8. After a disappointing and humiliating relegation process, the Cherokees are adjusting to life in the IHL. The team struggled to ice a full squad by opening night, and proceeded to play as such, losing the 1st 3 contests of the new season spectacularly. Game 4 appeared to be a lost cause when, after 1 period, the team found themselves down 1-5 to the Disraeli Black Bears. The 5 goal comeback that ensued has sparked the team to a 5-0-2-2 record since dropping their 1st 3 games as the team continues to gel. The addition of some veteran role players to compliment the young core of the team seems to be paying off. Hopefully we can continue to win some games and resigning players won't be a huge issue in the offseason.
  9. And, as an added bonus, i lost 3/4 of my team due to relegation. I guess the teams better than mine need them so that they may stay better than me. You know, competitive balance and all lol....
  10. ok so how does a team being relegated ever get better when their draft picks are taken away and replaced with garbage? If a teams being promoted, obviously they are on the up and up. It seems to me more of a "rich getting richer, poor getting poorer" type scenario.
  11. I feel your pain, Renegades. When i picked up this team midway thru the season, they hadn't won a single game. Not even so much as a ot loss so i figured relegation was inevitable. Didn't realize my draft picks would change as well. So all the time i spent scouting the prospects was just tossed out the window. I've been incredibly busy at work for the last week so i hadn't had time to re-scout so my draft is absolute garbage. What a stupid rule.
  12. Always good to see another Chattanooga team in the mix! Welcome! Might you be a fellow Tennessean?
  13. Season 19, day 40 Assistant impressed by Kirby Agostini ...atta boy! lol
  14. Hi Mike! Good to meet you and congrats on the great job with your team. My name is Rodj and i've been playing this game for about 4 months or so, having recently added a new team in Lumber. I had to find something to fill the void when my previous hockey sim drug-of-choice Good Hockey became an unplayable bag of poo. But i'm glad i found my way over here and hearing how you have been able to rise thru the ranks gives me hope lol. Best of luck!
  15. Thanks again guys. I'm proud to report we have pulled our way out of last place going 6-0-0-3 in our last 9 games (6-0-0-20 on the season now, good for 14th currently). Recent trade acquisition Ken Agostini has helped keep the ship on course a bit. While not being stellar in net, he has recorded some wins and stepped up to snap a bit of a losing streak we got into. I'm hearing there is now a trade block for new teams? Glad i was able to squeeze that one in lol.
  16. Thanks Vincent! yeah, i'm having a lot of fun trying to breathe some life into this franchise. I'm not 100% sure how relegation works, i just hope the hole hasn't been dug too deep for us. Lucky for me the team has a ton of cap space to play with. And thanks for the trade Baden! i hope the pick and prospect turn up for you, and veteran goalie Kirby Agostini should fit in nicely here, having already recorded a win in his 1st start! Best of luck!!
  17. Thanks Baden nice to meet you! wow what a difference day makes. While preparing my last-place squad to take on the #1 ranked Caunck Guardians, 4 more free agents came on board. Veteran goaltender Jad Sherry, Russian winger Mykhail Osipenko, as well as centermen Alessandro Missiroli and Mikita Mazurkiewicz (a 25 year old stud picked up just hours after being released 2 days into a 3 year contract from, guess who, Fort Pierce Bears). Jad Sherry immediately won the coaches over with his high spirit and was thrust into the starting role before the ink was dry on the contract. The result? 29 saves and the #1 star in a classic worst-beats-first scenario. The other 3 new guys were busy making an impression as well, collecting a point a piece (2 with goals,1 with a helper) in route to a 5-2 upset. Next up? The team that replaced the Guardians at the top. Worst v. 1st part 2. No big deal.
  18. Hello everyone! My name is Rodj and i have recently taken the helm of the Chattanooga Cherokees (formerly Brownrigg Redneck Hill?) in the Clapper BHL. I've been playing the game for about 3 or 4 months in Biscuit and decided to branch out a little and maybe find a more active league. I was going to post in the "introduce" tread but i saw the chatter regarding a suspicious trade. The trade with the Bears was made before i took over i can assure you. Since taking over, i have signed several free agents to upgrade the team (which btw has much more talent than my Biscuit team) and i have had 2 trades proposed to me. I rejected one trade proposed by the Canuck Gaurdians and i accepted another from the Sault Ste Marie Stray Cats for forward Maxence Bruno. I have a ton of work to do with this team, which is great. The defense was just awful and goal tending even worse. The roster has players on the wrong side of 35 all over the place. But there are alot of positives as well. I see some great prospects and as i've mentioned, added some great young free agents to help turn this team around. On day 19 of season 19 I took the reigns of a winless team after 12 tries and on day 24 the team tasted victory for the first time at the expense of the Goldenville Hornets. And the winning didn't stop there as they marched into the lair of the #6 Deadwood Irishmen and left with the win in a tough back-and-forth battle. 2-0-0-17 for those keeping score at home. Sky's the limit. See you on the ice!
  19. Hello all! Not 100% new to the game (been lurking for a few months now). Started in the IHL during the season before last, so last season was my 1st full campaign at the helm of the Tullahoma Tomcats. My team has regressed somewhat from when i took it over, with most of the better players leaving for free agency after refusing to resign. But, if there is one thing in particular i have learned as a day 1 Nashville Predators fan, it is that sometimes there is addition by subtraction (looking at you Ryan Suter and Shea Weber). Best of luck to everyone and we will see y'all on the ice!!
