Hi, Greg, you have a good team there, should fight for promotion sooner rather than later. You also have one of my former goalies (Klima) who should be very good at that level. As for me, this season has been a disaster. The effects of the latest game update hit me hard. I lost the entire first line, the top defenseman and the top goalie either through shock retirements or through ridiculous regressings. It is very hard to compete like this in the GHL.

Both of your teams look good for promotion. Lumberjacks, you do have to offload some players and maybe replace them with another 1-2 good players. As for you, IneffableLeafs, you should get a winning streak at some point. I am more worried about your next season finances, even if you get promoted. Those Promotion Contracts will eat a lot into your budget and for the GHL you will need to improve the squad. I also sympathize with your goalie problem. I have it in the GHL, too. The game will start being invaded by zombies. My guy has now lost 7 points in 11 days. I am now in "being amused" mode. Nothing else to do but wonder how fast he will become a zombie on a high-wage contract.

He dropped again 1 point. 5 points in 8 days. This is officially ridiculous and in my view an undesired effect of the last update.

Mine is 38, but it is clearly related to a hidden trait (longevity or something like that), because I also have a player of 40 who is doing fine (so far) which means his longevity is better. The problem is not that they are regressing (3 or 4 points per season would be fine), but that they are doing it too fast. I should also point that the player has not been injured in this or the previous season.

This may well be, but then why would I get - for the same game - the info that the captains prepared the team well? Anyway, what traits of the captains influence the over/under - estimation stuff? I guess there are also other factors involved.

I have the same question. Especially as my players underestimate opponents they shouldn't (like the team on the first spot) while usually they don't underestimate other opponents.

One of my players decreased twice in three days. Must be an effect of the last update, but I do hope it doesn't go too far. Coupled with the sudden retirement of guys on Day 77, this could affect the game in the wrong way. Let's see how it develops.

It's based on the idea of a lottery. From my experience, usually either the team from the first place in the SHL or the team from the 13th in the GHL gets the firts pick.

1. If it's a GHL team, unless it's computer managed and/or in very bad shape (losing streak, not a lot of key players etc), there are few chances of promotion. You would have to have very good confidence and very good winner instinct, plus to get the tactics right. 2. If you go up to the GHL try to keep a good mix between top veteran players that you will sign or trade for and a few good players that are not on 1w contracts. They will help a lot if you get relegated straight back.

I only know Fishbowl and Clapper and I tend to prefer the first one for two reasons: I do not have that much time (so 1 game a day seems fit) and there is not such a gap between veteran teams and new ones (because there have not been too many seasons). But the current challenge I have to survive in GHL in Clapper is - I have to admit - exciting.

This is a very good thing. But in my view the trade lock should be longer: 1 whole season for newly signed free agents and half a season for those signed through trade. One of the significant problems of the game now (cause it heavily advantages GHL teams) is that teams sign many players that they don't actually need only to use them as trade bait.

Thanks, koekefix. I know those two links and they are certainly helping. However there are based on interpretation. The game needs an offical guide. I know it takes time to produce one, but if there was at one point such a document I think it should still be available to newer users. And maybe it could be adjusted to the current state of the game.

Is that "old help system" still available somewhere? It would really help to have a proper (aka detailed, official and one) help document

I start my first season in SHL and I am a bit worried. In my opinion, the draft order heavily privileges the GHL teams and will make it even harder for us (late starters) to catch up. In this context I would love to see you try to start again from LIHL. It would be a lesson to all of us. I drafted three players that don't look very encouraging and I am encountering a poor free agency market. All the good players are asking for ridiculous wages (even if they are under or around 80) and some of my own young good players are not interested in staying with the team. I hope nonetheless that I can stay in this division and find a way to progress.
