  2. You guys in mitts would know better about how salaries evolve over time since you're ahead of most of the rest of us so if you think it's manageable I trust you and concur.
  3. Senet: what I meant is you are the exact guy that you were describing In your post?
  4. Yeah but according to people in your league, aren't you that guy Senet? Lol I'm messing. But I have noticed that eventually players can be talked back down after they hit their peak and you can negotiate to save cap space. Just remember though that if one manager overpays like crazy for a dude, that player will probably not ever accept less later on. This is how we end up with talented players asking for too much in FA to fit into any competitive rosters.

    Depth Chart

It really does seem like the most efficient way of setting lineups for future games. It seems like it would be easier to implement than setting a few "template" lineups as was discussed before.

  9. Top two teams are promoted and gets to rest.
  10. I feel okay about the season. A little disappointed with not at least making it to the finals and having a mini-collapse down the stretch after a solid regular season but the team is returning and a bunch have been coming along nicely. Not going to full sale but I'm also looking to move a few players for either a 1-2 pairing defenseman or a young defensive forward with potential to clear some cap space.

    Injuries

Ice time and training intensity play the biggest roles. If the players have low endurance it seems like they may get injured if pushed too hard. Also, it may depend on how physical or big (just perception, no actual data to back it up) the players on the other team are and what type of tactics they are playing. If you see fitness start to decline reduce practice intensity first.

I also think it would be cool for an option to add a gold star to your team crest for each Gold Cup.

  14. In football manager you have the option to list your player for loan and other clubs can offer to "rent" them. You state how long you'd like to send them out and they say that the player would play in X position and be a starter, bench, etc. However, sometimes the lesser offer might be from a better club, so it is a risk you take. Every so often you would get a notification if your player wasn't being used as agreed upon and you had the option (if you negotiated it) to recall the player. The issues is that we have a solid structure of world teams and minor leagues that add texture and depth and we should use that instead of the user leagues as feeders. In football manager you could sign affiliate agreements to last X years that would allow you to send players there and visa versa. Maybe we could have foreign affiliates for the top two tiers and the American and Canadian minor leagues could fulfil the role for the lower tiers. Either way, the level of competition has to be a step below the parent teams and I can't imagine any human players would want to be an affiliate unless they are okay with the idea of renting players to get to the next level instead of farming them and raising them themselves.
  15. I agree Canucks that the more user controlled the feeder system is the more I'll use it. I won't trust anyone to really train players or play them, but then again maybe it's me.
  16. Could also do it like football manager and send them out on loans with agreements to play them such and such position/ice time and pick which level would suit them best. If they aren't being played as agreed you can recall them.

    Season 7

    The name Shmuel is awesome.
  18. My opinion is that you shouldn't get a feeder until you're in SHL or GHL. There's no reason for LIHL teams to have players with potential not playing for them and if players begin to start entering the league at 40overall for example and supposedly they have potential but aren't playing on a Lower level team that isn't realistic either. The goal isn't to wallow in the lower levels so sending away players that are your potential franchise players seems counterintuitive. SHL and GHL feeders could play in the same or not, I don't think that matters as much since the pool of players is the same and they all should hopefully carry some talent.
  19. I don't think it matters for promotion relegation for feeder teams. Just play in an east/west or something random in multiple divisions. The results aren't as important for those teams, they just need ice time. On a side note, I'd trust you with my prospects Canucks lol.
  20. If feeder teams were to be user-controlled, I'd most likely keep them on my bench instead. I'd be fine with them playing in a league like the other country leagues and just seeing stats over time. I wouldn't want another manager ruining them by overusing them or playing them in ill suited roles and potentially stunting development.
