2015 Lombardi Award

It is time to hand out the accolades, and first up is the Rotary Lombardi Award. The Lombardi is awarded annually to the best college lineman based on performance, leadership, character, and resiliency. The 2015 winner is Virginia Tech senior DT Scott Sandoval

In receiving the Award, the big defensive lineman is honored for a season in which he recorded 11 sacks, forced 5 fumbles, had 14 QB hurries, and 9 stuffed plays in his 46 tackles. Sandoval  helped lead Virginia Tech to a 10-3 record, and an appearance in the Camping World Bowl. Sandoval is seen as having next-level talent and is projected to go early on Day 2 of the upcoming NFL draft.

2015 Chuck Bednarik Award

Next up is the Chuck Bednarik Award; presented annually to the defensive player judged to be the best in college football. The 2015 Award was given to Notre Dame senior ILB Christopher Daniel. The standout linebacker had an amazing year in which he had 7 sacks, 26 play stuffs, 9 forced fumbles, 17 pass deflections,  and 4 INT's in his overall 128 tackles. Daniel anchored a Notre Dame defense that was ranked 29th in the Nation, and which resulted in a memorable 12-1 record and Sun Bowl victory.

2015 Ray Guy Award

While not the most glamorous position, ask any coach and they will tell you that a dependable, talented punter can make their job a heck of a lot easier. The winner of the 2015 Ray Guy Award is Alabama senior punter Robert Lam. In playing all 13 games, he totaled 3,006 yards on 70 punts; good for a 42.9 average and 37.3 Net.

2015 Lou Groza Award

The Lou Groza Award is presented annually to the top CFB placekicker by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. Past award winners include future NFL starters Martin GramaticaSebastian Janikowski, Mike Nugent, and Matt Gay. The 2015 Lou Groza Award was given to Clemson senior placekicker Brandon Washington. In putting together is award-winning season, Washington went 51 of 52 in extra point attempts and 36 of 47 in field goal attempts. This resulted in a mind-boggling 159 points on the season. Though he is likely a Day 3 draftee, Washington is sure to hear his name called in the upcoming NFL draft.

2015 John Mackey Award

The John Mackey Award is presented annually to the Nation's most outstanding tight end who best exemplifies on field play, sportsmanship, academics, and community values. Today, the winner of the 2015 John Mackey Award was announced as TCU junior TE Richard Ledesma. Appearing in all 15 games, Ledesma caught 74 passes for 997 receiving yards; good for a 13.5 ypc average and 10 TD's.

2015 Mosi Tatupu Award

The Mosi Tatupu Award is given annually to the special team player of the year. The 2015 award was presented to Ohio State junior punt return specialist Troy Hall. On the year, Hall racked up 778 return yards on 53 returns; good for a 14.7 return average. Contrary to the snapshot, Hall had 17 fair catches and 4 return TD's.

2015 Jim Thorpe Award

The Jim Thorpe Award is awarded annually to the top defensive back in college football. This year's award was announced as USC strong safety Gerald Cook. The junior standout player recorded 114 tackles, 10 INT's, 7 pass deflections, and 4 forced fumbles.

2015 Outland Trophy

The Outland Trophy is awarded annually to the best college football interior lineman. The 2015 winner was announced today, and the Award was given to Virginia Tech offensive tackle Shawn Cardona.  The big lineman is projected to be a low 3rd round or high 4th round pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

2015 Fred Biletnikoff Award

The Fred Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the outstanding college football receiver. While there were many top WR's this year, the 2015 Award was given to Miami WR John Powell. In helping lead the Hurricanes to a magical season, Powell had 1,548 receiving yards on 94 receptions and 15 TD's.

2015 Dick Butkus Award

The Butkus Award is given annually to the top linebacker in collegiate football. The 2015 Award winner is Notre Dame senior ILB Christopher Daniel. The standout linebacker had an amazing final year, recording 128 tackles, 7 sacks, 26 play stuffs, 9 forced fumbles, and 4 INT's. There is no question that Daniel is a next-level talent and will be a Day 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

2015 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award

The Davey O'Brien award is given to the quarterback judged to be the best in college football. The 2015 award was announced today, and this year's honor goes to Iowa Hawkeye senior QB Roland Hernandez. In putting together his record-setting season, Hernandez threw for 4,368 yards and 44 TD's. Equally impressive is his scrambling ability which resulted in 319 rushing yards and a 5.2 YPC average. Not only his Hernandez the front-runner for the remaining top Awards, he has NFL teams salivating over where he will land in the First round of the upcoming NFL draft. #realdeal

2015 Doak Walker Award

The Doak Walker award is given to the running back deemed to be the best in college football. While the competition was tough, the 2015 Award was given to Mississippi State senior RB Ramon Flores. What a way to end his collegiate career, rushing for 2,178 yards and 23 TD's.  With astounding  7.2 yards per carry average and jaw-dropping speed, Flores is viewed as a generational talent that will not get past Day 1 of the NFL draft.

2015 Coach of the Year Award

To even be considered this honor, you have to had an successful season. To win, you had to be among the best. The 2015 Coach of the Year award was given today to Clemson Tiger coach Albert Mccarthy. In taking the Tigers to the semi-finals of the playoffs, Coach Mccarthy finished with a 13-1 record and #4 in the final poll.  #howaboutTCU

2015 Defensive Player of the Year Award

Here he is, the best of the best on defense. The 2015 Defensive Player of the Year Award was given to  Notre Dame senior ILB Christopher Daniel. The standout linebacker (and Butkus Award winner) had an amazing final year. A rare combination of speed, power, leadership, and the uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time, Daniel recorded 128 tackles, 7 sacks, 26 play stuffs, 9 forced fumbles, and 4 INT's. NFL teams are now scrambling to get into draft position to get him on their team.
