Maybe it's that his "puck control" stat is a bit low. Your roster has some real stars on it - way above BHL average, but it also looks like you have some below-average players too. Maybe it's those "holes" in the lineup when the shots are getting through. ???

Why so few human teams in the SHL? GHL, BHL, and IHL are full, but only 5-6 humans in the SHL. It concerns me a little, as it took me 4 seasons to go from IHL to SHL, and I'm a bit afraid that something happens at this level that causes people to quit. Anyone with thoughts on this?

Hope he got you through the playoffs. (That was always the risk).

I agree there are far too many unsigned and unlikely to ever be signed players in Fishbowl. I think the formula should incorporate age along with OVR to get rid of all those OVR 50-60s that are too old to improve much.

Extending player with promotion clause when team will move up
annarorhawk replied to annarorhawk's question in Questions and Answers
Thanks. That's what I'm trying. Paying a little extra for my young rising players. I'll let the vets hit FA and hope I can get the ones I really want for market value. Cautionary tale for other managers is sometimes it's worth it to pay extra yearly salary w/o the promotion clause if you think you'll move up. Also careful about 1-year contracts for players you really want in a year you think you'll advance - better to pay a bit extra for a multi-year deal. -
I traded for him soon after I took over my team. Strangely it was to a guy who was promoting to the BHL (Team was Nottingham Reds). At the time he was mid-70's and still had 3 years on initial contract, so i didn't see why he wanted to let him go. The player just sky-rocketed in skill this season and is the probably the main reason I'm in 1st place. I hope you find a way to resign him, though it will tough. At his growth rate, he'll be mid-90s type player I would think. The guy I took in turn I think was fair value, as I might only have him for 1 season for the same reason. I know Ill be following TLC, just to see how far he goes. Good luck.

I'm manager of Blakely Chariots in IHL. I have a player in the last year of his contract that looks like a future SHL/GHL star: T. Lariviere-Chapdelaine (F) He could help a BHL team looking to win promotion in the playoffs, or a struggling SHL team to stave off relegation. Admittedly, he will be hard to re-sign after this season. I've clinched 1st, and I know I won't be able to keep him. So I'll trade him to the highest bidder...... OK. So it looks like my team will advance from the IHL to the BHL. I have guys on their last year that I wish to extend. They want what would be very good IHL money (like 150K) and a promotion clause. I'm guessing if I agree to it, and the team promotes, their new contract will go from 150K to 400K!!!!, which would be crazy. Am I right on how that would work? Seems strange that I have to wait until after my team is promoted to extend the players??? Or would that same player actually demand 400K from me after the team promotes?

Time Period for Resigning Players in Last Year
annarorhawk posted a question in Questions and Answers
Hi, I'm in FishBowl. The season is about to close, and I have several players in the last year of their contract. When I try to extend them, they say "Happy with contract," so I can't extend. My question is when and if there is a period of time when I will get an opportunity to offer extensions to these guys BEFORE their contract expires? -
I don't know. I hounded a player for a new contract in his last year. He kept saying "happy with contract." Eventually, I got him to make a contract demand. I accepted. Then I waited a few days and he signed extension. But that was an exception. All my other guys on 1 year deals who are happy won't let me make an extension offer. My advice is to keep hitting them up for an extension.
