So I went to an old save file I had on my NCAA Football 14 game and I had a coach I was trying to have a great career. I forgot how far he went and it jogged my memory on what all he did. So here is his journey in a super simplified way: OC: Kansas 2013 9-4 Bowl Win 2014 12-1 Conference Champs Bowl Win #3 Final Ranking 2015 11-2 Conference Champs Sugar Bowl Loss #5 Final Ranking HC: Texas State 2016 7-5 Bowl Loss 2017 9-4 Bowl Win 2018 10-3 CC Bowl Win #19 Final 2019 11-2 CC Bowl Loss #9 Final HC: Kansas (The HC was still there when I left but had back to back losing seasons) 2020 10-3 Bowl Win Final #12 2021 10-3 Bowl Win Final #9 2022 12-1 Conference Champs Lost NC game #3 Final Heisman Winner QB 2023 6-0 (Left off here currently #5) Ratings OVR 93 OFF 98 DEF 88 Record 75-21 I'd say good career so far. I think I lost the NC game by 3 points. No high profile school but im trying to turn Kansas into a national power. Hard when I cant ever seem to get a top 15 recruiting class.

That is best described for DSU. I just couldnt stop them and they always seemed to be making the right stops. Ya sure the stats look good but, key stops always. I could never seem to convert 3rd downs. Seriously, 1-12 for 3rd down conversions. Of course when i fell behind 24-7 halfway through the 3rd I had to really start moving so with moderate success I started passing. Defense just couldnt stop them, especially on 3rd down. Once they went up 34-14 I pretty much thought I was screwed. Finally put together a drive and put up a field goal with 3:35 seconds left. I like my chances against Boise State at least.

I scored first as you can see going 67 yards on my first drive mostly running and took almost 5 minutes off the clock. Then the defenses battled it out for the rest of the quarter. Their first drive of the 2nd was only 3 plays, 23 yard run then 25 on a pass then a wee little 21 yard pass. I started thinking "crap, this is going south fast." I then go 3 and out they score again! OK 3 minutes left and I can score, I hope. Ive been mostly running so I do a PA Pass and get a 19 yarder to the TE. Plenty of time left i just run run and run and score with 3 seconds left. Well they get the ball back at half and wouldnt you know it they drive the field and score. I go 3 and out again and they start to drive and luck would have it I score of an INT. Kind of, only went 35 yards and settled for a field goal. So its 21-17 wildcats up. My defense somehow got switched out with a good one and their next 3 drives go 3 and out. I score another field goal and then a touchdown making it 21-27! Now im just thinking ball control! I try to run it but stall out halfway through the drive but lucky me i punt it to their 3 yard line! Unfortunately for me by bad defense came back from vacation and while they painfully slowed them down i couldn't stop them! they took 8 minutes off and scored making it 28-27 with 2:49 left and I FUMBLED THE KICK RETURN! I luckily recovered it but now I had 95 yards to go! I had to at least get to the 30 yard line. I need some luck. So I get to work with the read option, mild success but i threw in some PA passes to keep them back but a sack on a 3rd down on their 45 yard line put me in a stress filled 4th and 16 to go on the 45 going in with 1:05 left! I decided to run a quick screen with everyone else going streaking. I drop back, dump it to my receiver and I got blocks! Almost all their defenders are too far back and I DIVE FOR THE FIRST DOWN AND GET IT! On the 29 first down with 51 seconds left. Then the heart attack moment, they stuff me for negative yards on the next 3 plays and push me back to the 36 and with 2 seconds left i had no choice but to go for my longest field goal yet, 53 yards. I Line up for the field goal, slight cross wind buts its at my back, I line it up! Its in the air...IT LOOKS SHORT! HITS THE CROSS BAR AND BOUNCES IN AND ITS GOOD! COYOTES UPSET THE WILDCATS! COYOTES move to 7-2 after upsetting the now 6-3 Wildcats!

But the score is kind of deceptive in a way. I sacked the absolute crap out of them, 10 total. Also had 5 fumbles go my way. But my defense did really well. Best passing game yet. 5-2 start I say im improving!

They stopped me on 3 straight drives and wen up 41-31. I got an INT but they stopped me short of a TD and had to settle for a field goal. I made them go 3 and out was on a good drive myself but threw my own INT with 35 seconds to go when i was on the 12 yard line. Yay...

A$$ whoopin. It looked a lot better at halftime, 16-10. I was thinking I could hang with these guys, maybe even beat them! But as you can see, I couldn't stop their defense from getting the INTs. Last season was definitely a fluke. I got too desperate once they went up 30-17, threw 8 INTs in a row. Decided to just run and scored a TD. They followed up by scoring again, 37-17. They put backups in, I didnt. Threw 2 more INTs and they kept holding me on 3rd downs. NO BEUNO! Oh and sacked 5 times too.

As you can see the passing game was working too, the 2nd quarter though? Dont worry about that little guy. Secondary still remains pretty decent, but still weak opponents. T Meyers was practically a one man offense, all passing was his and he owns about 250 of that 410 for rushing. OF COURSE MY BACKUPS SUCK! So depth is still an issue, not that I dont have players, just no good ones. Almost 2 3rds of their offense came in the 4th. Alabama...BRING IT! (Kim Jung Un style threat)

So it is finally the end of the season...all of it. Michigan beat LSU for the national title. I obviously didnt make a bowl game. But I won seven games...about 3 more than I thought I would. I set a few mile stones. I have a talented...ish roster that im returning almost everyone. I hope to grab at least 3 or 4 more recruits. Next years goals: Beat 2 top 25 teams win 9 games play and win a bowl game go undefeated at home have a top 40 defense

I couldnt pass, barely could run. Its not as if UCONN was the best team either. I was just mistake prone. My QB/WR went down in the 4th. My HB got injured twice. It wasnt too fun. I had hopes in the 4th, but with their FG at 7:31 in the 4th...It was too much. Oh and getting sacked 5 times doesnt help either. So now I stand at a subpar yet beat my wildest expectations, 7-5. I have a few more recruits I really want to nab up. Some personnel changes i want to do. Also hope a few teams lose so I can make a bowl. Oh and I dont think Alabama will win the title. They lost 2 games and now i cant say "I held the National Champions!"

RIVALRY! Sort of... So I made them what would be a rivalry and made them better...Hell they are in Texas, more talent. I pretty much abandoned my passing game...it was working at all. Their secondary was just too good and kept the pressure up. I was 14-7-0-3 for passing at the half. SO BACK TO THE READ OPTION! My QB and RB combined for 50 carries for 301 yards, fullback had 4 carries for 16 yards and a receiver had a carry for 2 yards. I stalled a bit in the 4th quarter but my defense only allowed 2 first downs so I felt I was ok. Until the time read 2:17 seconds left to go. I risked 1 pass play that entire drive...paid off! I punched it in with 6 seconds left to go. They burned the 6 seconds on the return. Good game...good game.

I almost predicted an upset, my redzone blues showed up again and at 11:34 in the 3rd the score read 21-6 in favor of Idaho. I finally figured out how to shut them down completely defensively...stack the line, blitz the crap out of them. All 4 of their INTs were in the 2nd half. Once I changed a few things on Offense in the 2nd half I knew i could win also, switched from my read option to my power option game. Gave myself a blocker on the runs and smashed their interior to bits. Sort of...it was more like power option on the middle edge of their defense and once they closed in on my QB I'd pitch it and run outside or theyd close in on the RB and id just follow my blocker up into their secondary.

Bye week results: 5 star OL prospect finally locked me out. 3 scheduled visits and 1 recruit close to visiting. The ever needed Secondary prospects are slow to visit, 1 committed, 1 visit and 7 still not all to close. All while that is going on I was trying to figure out Notre Dame. All I could really come up with was control the clock, don't turn it over and at least try to slow them down. ND is currently #9 at 8-1. Here we go, Week 11 @ Notre Dame WIN!!!!! Just kidding... But did way better than expected. But the talent gap showed and they opened up. At the end of the 3rd their rushing yards were only 25 for 123 yards, which is still good but then they had 10 for 91. Passing same story, they were 19-9-1-0 for 103 yards then went 15-12-1-0 for 114 yards. I just couldn't stay on the field to keep them off in the 4th. I converted 1 first down and went 10-3-0-1 for 24 yards and 14 rushes for 24 yards. Moral Victory?

CHIP SHOTS! HOWEVER! I was better at running the ball but also seemed to stall in the redzone. I don't know why i couldn't punch it in once I got inside the 20 but all my touchdowns were from 24 yards out or more. OH! I finally signed a recruit.
