As big of a hockey fan as I am, I never have played either of those games. By the time I moved to PC gaming both those games were highly outdated. Only experience I have is with Franchise Hockey Manager. So sorry I can't help you any.

One works with internet connection multi player leagues .. I think 2005 works with them and 2007 doesn't .. but you can play 2005 multi player leagues with the demo

I would reccomend fhm series from the ootp developers for single or online purposes tbh those games we're fun but are very outdated now just like bbcf in term of football sims.

EHM 07 is the best version that was released. I own them all and I enjoy them in this order...

 

EHM 07 > EHM 04 (First one called NHL Eastside) > EHM 05 > EHM (steam version)

 

People recommending the new Franchise Hockey Manager but I would disagree, the game is now up to version 7 and is still very rough around the edges and is a very different product to EHM. If you only care about up date NHL game play then sure go buy Franchise hockey 7 otherwise stick with EHM 07 if you have it!

ehm 07 is better than fhm7 but fhm7 is a worthwile product.

If you have to get EHM, get EHM1. It's on sale rn for 5 dollars on Steam
