Brees is a better QB than Brady, simple

While there is no question that Drew Brees is a future HoF, it is difficult to see how he would ever be rated ahead of Tom Brady.

The Hoodie made Brady who he is.

As a Pats fan, I disagree.  One can simply point to Belichick's stats as a head coach prior to Brady to prove this incorrect.

With all the various observations as to why Brady would catch people by surprise by signing with Tampa Bay, I think there is something about the location that he found very attractive although I haven't heard it mentioned. It's possible that the idea of facing Drew Brees twice a year reminded him of his days facing Manning every year. He seems to be the sort of person who yearns for challenges that afford him the opportunity to measure himself. Statistically Brees is the only player left in the game that compares, with the  heart and intelligence to be able to consistently force Brady to reach for his best. Not that he wouldn't do this anyway, but it is the intoxication of that specific moment, one great general across the battlefield from another, that has maybe been lacking since his days of facing Manning in his prime.

The modern halfback is the NFL's forgotten man. It is clear that decisions being made by general managers and head coaches around the league reflect a belief that, for the most part, these players are now considered interchangeable and not three down backs in the traditional sense. It is true that the days of Payton and Dickenson or even Smith or Sanders are gone; even more the days of Brown, Csonka and Harris. All of this suggests that there will be a historic season in the near future concerning one back, or more, amassing significant yards while carrying the ball from inside a more traditional set. Less money, time and energy spent on ensuring an offense is set with a workhorse back on the roster means that less of the same is being spent on the defensive lineman and linebackers with the credentials to stop them. Play calling aside, who would suggest that Elliot or Barcley are incapable of accomplishing such things.

I wish I could agree that he sucks. Facts are though...he's the best ever. I just hate it lol

I think those are great observations, roll into that his increased role in player personnel, and the money and  Tampa's receivers, and it all looks pretty good.

peyton is my favorite qb of all time, always thought he was better.

Peyton was great too!  No denying that.  I really enjoyed that rivalry.
