2024-2025 SEASON - NOVEMBER
It is still early in the season and early season stats can be misleading, but we are ranked 1st in offense, field goal percentage and points-per-game. We are also ranked 2nd in three-point percentage and 3rd in assists-per-game, but only 26th in defense and 30th in points allowed-per-game. So, it seems like another season of shoot the opponents out of the building or die. I'll take it though. At least we are good at something and to be honest, Chris Miller has struggled a little offensively. If Miller can improve his offensive game, we might be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Bradley Beal is living up to the hype and he has been a great addition to the team. Beal is averaging 25.4 ppg(6th) and 6.5 apg(12th). Marcus Donovan is averaging 7.4 apg(7th) and Steven Adams is just outside of the top-twenty in rebounds-per-game, averaging 8.8 rpg(21st). Justin McCuthison is fitting in well as Adam's protege and is averaging 1.6 bpg(16th). I feared this was going to be a problem, as McCuthison indicated he wanted starter minutes, but he now seems fine coming off the bench. Rui Hachimura is having another excellent as a ball hawk, averaging 2.1 spg(7th) and despite only averaging 10.2 ppg, Chris Miller has four double-doubles on the season.

All-in-all, I must admit I'm pleased with the early season results and I expect the team is only going to get better as the season goes along. I still think we are a player away from being a real contender, but we did win back-to-back titles with a lone four-star player before, so it is not unthinkable.

2024-2025 SEASON - DECEMBER
We had a tough four game road schedule to start the month and injuries to Hachimura and Bradley contributed heavily to the three consecutive losses, but the team bounced back and finished the month with a 10-2 run. Our offensive rating has dropped to 3rd overall, points-per-game and field goal percentage we are ranked 1st overall and we are ranked 5th in three-point percentage. Nothing to complain about when it comes to the offense, but defensively we are rated 24th and 29th in points allowed.

2024-2025 SEASON - JANUARY
What a wretched month of basketball. We started the month with a difficult stretch of road games against some of the best teams in the league. Then we were beset with a rash of injuries and it seems that Rui Hachimura has been on the injured list more often than not. Hachimura is one of the best small forwards in the league and when his is not on the court the team really suffers. Let's hope he gets healthy and can stay that way.

2024-2025 SEASON - FEBRUARY
The Chicago Bulls lead the league in points-per-game, field goal percentage and are the number one rated offensive team in the league. Unfortunately, the Bulls are also last in points allowed-per-game and are rated dead last in defense. I'm not really sure how I'm going to fix this, but poor defense seems to be a recurring theme with this team and we aren't going to go far with a bunch of bull fighters on the court. I think it's time to have a sit down with coach Wittman and discuss possible solutions.

TRADES/FREE AGENCY
With the trading deadline looming, I decided that Rick Peterson was no longer a good fit for the team and I wanted someone with more experience to come off the bench in relief of Bradley Beal. So, I traded Peterson to the Houston Rockets for future considerations and then signed free agent Pat Connaughton ($2,724,251/1y) to take his place. Pat has been with the organization before and I trust he will be help us down the stretch.

2024-2025 SEASON - MARCH
Who the hell came up with this ridiculous schedule!?! Three road games, followed by two home games, then back out on the road for six consecutive games! Hell, we played ten road games in one month or two-thirds of the entire March schedule were on the road...and don't get me started about the rash of injuries. I honestly can't remember the last time all of our starters were on the court at the same time. At one point I needed to call up Angel Delgado from the D-League, because we had no one to play center, but if I had done that, I'd have to convert his contract from a 2-way D-League contract and that would put me over the cap. So, we ended up calling up Ivan Dickerson(PG) and he was forced to come off the bench to play power forward...yea, a point guard playing power foward. Not an ideal situation in the least, but it worked and we managed to stop the bleeding after a six game losing streak. If I seem cranky, it's because I am. Six game losing streaks will do that to you when your job is on the line and it doesn't help that Wittman is making little effort to improve the defense.

2024-2025 SEASON - APRIL
For the first time in months, we had everyone healthy and we went 5-1 during the month of April. Unfortunately Chris Miller strained his calf in the final game of the season and he'll be out at least two weeks. To make matters worse, we'll face the Charlotte Hornets in the first round of the playoffs. We don't match up well against the Hornets and we went 0-4 against them this season. Honestly, I have no idea why the Hornets don't have a better record, because they have a formidable lineup. Although I must admit, Hornets head coach Mark Jackson has some wild ideas when it comes to his starting roster. For one, he starts three shooting guards, Kendrick Nunn at the point, Tony Neeser at shooting guard and Terence Davis at small foward. This is very odd to me, because Marlin Taylor is a natural point guard and he comes off the bench in relief of Kendrick Nunn. Tayor is a four-star player and Nunn is a four-1/2-star player, but he is playing out of position. I don't get it, but it certainly seems to work when they play us. If I'm honest, I don't think we are going to get out of the first round and if that happens, I'm certain Jerry Reinsdorf will fire me.

2023-2024 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND (GAME 1)
Despite the Bulls being the higher seed, the 6th seeded Hornets have the better team in my opinion and admittedly, the 109-97 victory was a bit of surprise. Without Chris Miller, I didn't think we could keep pace with them on the scoreboard, but Kendrick Nunn fouled out early and we were able to pull away to a comfortable tweleve point victory in the fourth quarter. I still don't understand why the Hornets aren't starting Neeser at point, but if the series keeps going this way, I hope they don't come to their senses.

A couple interesting notes about a couple of the other games. Big shout out to the Brooklyn Nets and their eight(8), yea I said "eight", point fourth quarter. I'm not sure exactly what went wrong there, but really...eight points!?! Also, another shout out to the Phoenix Suns for nearly blowing a thirty-tree(33) point lead to the Sacramento Kings. The Suns were out scored 76-53 in the second half. Lucky for the Suns, Bernard Person put up 45 points to give Phoenix just enough cushion. What a crazy game.

2023-2024 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND (GAME 2)
I would not have believed it, if I had not seen it for myself, but a 41-point first quarter really set the tone for the game and we are now up 2-0 in the series. I am truly shocked that we have managed to secure both home games and if we can steal a game in Charlotte, we might actually sneak into the second round. Overall the team played extremely well, with all five starters scoring in double figures and Steph Curry scored 16 points coming off the bench. Just a nice balanced attack and we actually managed to play a little defense.

The Nets bounced back after their game one humiliation and upset the Hawks 111-103. I'm a big Nets fan right now, because I think the Hawks are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference and I would love to see them get bounced from the playoffs early. You can probably put a fork in the Bucks, as they are now without the services of Giannis Antetolounmpo and Jarret Culver. Culver is out for five days, but Giannis may miss up to twenty days. Milwaukee can't afford to be without him for that long. Oh and one more shout out to the Phoenix Suns for fouling out three starters on their way to a ten point loss.

2023-2024 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND (GAME 3)
Well, it was fun while it lasted. The Hornets won the opening tip and never trailed in the game. Although a loss is never easy to take, when Bradely Beal went out with an injury, Bulls fans let out a collective groan. Beal is the heart and soul of this team and we can't go far without him. Beal hurt his back and is going to miss at least two games. At the earliest, he'll be back for game six, but by then it might be to late. Some how the team is going to have to rally together and find a way to win on of the next two games.

2023-2024 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND (GAME 4)
Despite having a bad back, Bradley Beal sucked it up and managed to play thirteen minutes. It was clear that he wasn't close to being 100% and he failed to score a single point. Honestly, I thought Wittman should have left him out of the lineup and I fear his condition may have been worsened. The series is now tied 2-2 and heading back to Chicago for game five. At the beginning of the series if you told me we would be tied 2-2 on our way to game five, I would have gladly taken it, but with Beal less than 100%, we're going to need something special from the rest of the team. We don't want to have to play an elimination game on the road, so game five is a must win in my opinion.

Also, Phoenix Suns Bernard Person scored 39 points and grabbed 25 rebounds in the Suns 98-90 win over the Sacramento Kings. Impressive!

2023-2024 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND (GAME 5)
With Chris Miller out due to a strained calf, center Justin McCuthison was forced into the starting lineup and he was more than up for the task. McCuthison led all scorers with 25 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and was named the player of the game. Bradley Beal played, but his minutes were limited, but Steph Curry once again came off the bench and contributed 14 points. This was a crucial win, as it secures the home court advantage in the event that the series goes to a game seven. If the series does go to a game seven, Beal should be back to 100%, but Miller is out for the remainder of the series.

2023-2024 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND (GAME 6)
No surprise here, the Hornets always seem to play better at home and we knew they were going to play hard. We shot an outstanding 55% from the field, but just didn't get enough shots off. So we head back to Chicago for the series deciding game seven. Bradely Beal should be 100% and although the Hornets will likely be favored in the game, we've already proven three times that we can beat them on our home court. I like our odds, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Shout out to the Sacramento Kings for laying that giant egg against the Phoenix Suns. Maybe it was nostalgia night or something to that effect, because they played basketball like it was the nineteen forties. Seriously, 30 points at the half and a game total of 70. That's ugly, but their 29% shooting percentage and 7-35 from three tell the tale. They could nor hit water if they fell out of a boat. The Suns clinched the series with the win.

2023-2024 SEASON - PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND (GAME 7)
There is no way to sugar coat it, that was a tough loss to take. Tied at 94-94 with under a minute left, Marlin Taylor launched a shot from the parking lot and drained the three with only thirty seconds remaining in the overtime period. The Bulls called a timeout and setup a play for Steph Curry to take the shot. Honestly, I can't think of anyone I'd rather have taking that shot than Steph Curry, but it bounced off the rim and was knocked out of bounds and the Hornets had possession. Unfortunately, the Bulls still had a foul to give and Beal was forced to foul Davis to put Charlotte in the bonus. Nunn inbounded to Neeser with :16 remaining and Donovan fouled him. It was Donovan's sixth foul and he left the court dejected. Neeser made the first free throw, but then recovered his own miss. Curry immediately fouled Neeser and he drained them both with :09 left and the score 100-94. After a Bulls timeout, Curry put up a long three, but it bounced off the iron and Neeser grabbed the rebound...game over. This loss really stings, but it may have far reaching repercussions. I'm not sure if Jerry is going to be very happy about us getting bounced in the first round and I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get fired. He'll probably fire Wittman as well, since I was the one who brought him in. So, now we wait and see if the hammer is going to fall or not.

2024-2025 OFF SEASON REPORT

OWNER MEETING
Jerry was not happy, when is he ever, but he did manage to acknowledge that I met some of his demands. However, he told me he thought it was time to find someone new and I figured the ax was about to fall. I told him I just needed a little more time and he agreed to let me stay on for one more year. That was actually a surprise, because I fully expected to escorted to the door. My job security level is now at an all-time low of 20% and there will be no second chances. I'm 100% certain that if I had not found a way to secure a four-star player, I would surely have been fired.

Now, just for fun, I saved the game and reloaded at that same point. I did this because I was curious if there might be a different owner reaction. What happened really surprised me. I essentially said the exact same thing as before, but I was fired three consecutive times and only on the fourth time did I manage to get a reprieve from unemployment. So, I guess I really was on thin ice and it was just pure luck that I was given one more chance. Interesting.

PLAYER CONTRACTS
Not much to do with player contracts this year, as the vast majority of the team is returning next season. Only Steph Curry(PG), Kevon Looney(C), Pat Connaughton(SG) and Andel Delgado(C) are free agents.

STAFF CONTRACTS
As the saying goes, "you can't fire the players", so the coaching staff has to go. Wittman wanted too much money anyway and as the worst defense in the league, I figure it's time to shake things up. Wittman, Thompson and Weber were not resigned and Stewart's contract cost my nothing to buy out, so he is gone as well. We'll need a whole new staff.

DRAFT NEWS
Last year was pretty exciting, but this year we only have one 1st round pick (via MIA) and I'm not even sure where we are picking. Too be honest, I'm more concerned about getting a staff right now and I'll worry about the draft later.

2025-2026 PRE SEASON REPORT

The off season is always interesting and challenging. This off season was no different. As it turns out, after all the trouble I went through to sign a four-star player last season (Bradley Beal), he is no longer rated a four-star player. Therefore I had to either sign or trade for a four-star or above player, because if I don't meet all of Jerry's demands, he will fire me at the end of this season. It's do or die at this point. Unfortunately it is virtually impossible to sign a high value free agent with my budget restrictions, so I new I was going to have to find someone to trade for. Once again, I'm forced to break up the team a bit, just to accommodate the owners demands. He write the checks, so I need to give him what he wants.

When Tim Hardaway Jr. decided not to exercise his player option, that freed up a little over $8M I could add to the budget. Initially I was looking to improve at the point guard position, but nobody was willing to give up anyone of any value. I was trying to get Marlin Taylor from the Hornets, as I knew from last season that he usually came off the bench because the Hornets employed a three shooting guard lineup. Long story short, we couldn't agree on a deal for Taylor, but the Hornets were willing to let P.J. Washington(PF) go for Chris Miller(PF).

I really didn't want to make that deal, but I was essentially forced into it by the owners demands. Miller is going to be a great player, but I needed to full fill the owners demands right now and I didn't want to try and do this after the season had started. The Hornets, who are $-70.8M over the budget got a great power forward and we got our four-star player and still have $5.5M to spend on free agents.

DRAFT
Drafted Tim Quinn(SG) in the first round with the 17th pick.

TRADES
Traded Brennen McDuffie(PG), Darryl Phillips(SG) and James Mobley(PF) to the Phoenix Suns for Joe Chealey(PG), Tim Hardaway Jr.(SG) and Jermaine Baker(PF).

Traded Chris Miller(PF), Tim Quinn(SG), Ivan Dickerson(PG) and a 2028 1st Round pick to the Charlotte Hornets for P.J. Washington(PF) and Andrew Miller(PG).

CONTRACTS
Exercised the Rookie option for Justin Shin, James Mobley, Justin McCuthison and Jermaine Baker. Tim Hardaway Jr. declined to pick up his player option, making him a free agent.

2025-2026 SEASON - OCTOBER

Four games into the season and I've already run out of patience with Rui Hachimura's inability to stay healthy. He is a great player when he is on the court, but he is often injured and he can't help the team if he is constantly in the trainers room. I contacted Golden State's GM Brandon Knight and inquired if he'd be willing to part with either the young Casey Ohanlon or Brandon Ingram. After little negotiations we were able to strike a one-for-one deal of Hachimura for Ingram. I was thrilled with the deal. Ingram is an outstanding defensive player who can score and I have every confidence that he'll make the players around him better. Ingram's contract was also a little more cap friendly, saving us $6.9M over the next two years. Full disclosure, Ingram has had injury problems as well, but nothing coming close to the extent of Hachimura, who has been on the IR at least fifteen times since coming into the league.

2025-2026 SEASON - NOVEMBER

Great month of basketball! Admittedly, we did have a relatively easy schedule, but even the 117-120 loss was some inspired play and an eight game winning streak is definitely a welcome sign. We have remained relatively injury free, with only two minor injuries to a couple of our bench players. Let's hope we can keep up this momentum.

Unlike last season, we have a much more balanced team under the tutelage of head coach Brian Starks. Last year we had the league's best offense, but also the worst defense. That imbalance does not provide the kind of consistency it takes to be successful. This season we currently have the 7th rated offense and 12th rated defense. So far the team is exceeding my expectations and I must admit that leading the conference is exciting.

2025-2026 SEASON - DECEMBER

Starting the month with a three game losing streak isn't always ideal, but but following that up with a twelve game winning streak sure does make it a lot easier to stomach. Plus, those three loses were against some pretty tough competition and they were all road games. It is still early in the season, but this might actually be the best team I've assembled yet. Our offensive rating is 7th, but we are ranked 2nd in points-per-game (115.3) and more importantly we are rated as the 6th overall defense. That is a vast improvement over last year and I think the key to our current success.

2025-2026 SEASON - JANUARY

We did lose three consecutive games this month, but that was immediately followed by an eight game winning streak and I'll take that all day long. This is by far our best season to date and we are an astonishing 11-0 in the division and 23-1 at home. If we can go 22-11 down the stretch, we'll have our first sixty win season since the Jordan era. We are still ranked 2nd in points-per-game, rated 9th in offense and 4th in defense. We are also the 2nd ranked team in the power rankings, right behind Atlanta. However, Atlanta is $87.2 million dollars over the cap and paying $55.7 million in luxury tax. On the other hand, we are one of the four teams under the cap ($4.4M). At the beginning of the season I told owner Jerry Reinsdorf that we would make the playoffs, but I think we are going to make a very deep run and at this point, anything less than a trip to the finals will be a disappointment.

2025-2026 SEASON - FEBRUARY

The February schedule was a GM's dream. A lot of home games versus weaker competition and before you know it we were sneaking up on the NBA's longest winning streak of 18 games. Unfortunately we had to travel to Atlanta and they ended the streak at 15 games, but it was a helluva run. Heading into the All-star break we had a league best record of 44-13. Granted, we didn't exactly have a difficult schedule, but it was nice to see us actually take advantage of it and if it had not been for the Atlanta Hawks, we would have gone undefeated in the month of February and set an NBA record for consecutive wins. Alas, that didn't happen and it is pretty clear that the Hawks are going to be a tough team to beat in the playoffs. We are currently the 4th rated offense and 8th rated defense in the league and for the first time during my tenure, we are atop the NBA power rankings, for whatever that's worth.

2025-2026 SEASON - MARCH

I should have know there was going to be a price to be paid for playing only three road games last month. That price was twelve road games for the month of March. No matter, we finished the month with an 11-4 record and we now have a real shot at recording the fourth best record in Bulls history. There are only six games remaining in the season, so we will need to win at least four of those games to accomplish that task, but it certainly is within our grasp. As we head into the final month of regular season play, we have the 4th rated offense and the 11th rated defense. We lead the league in points-per-game with 116.4 and are a virtual lock for the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
