  1. Playing OOTP mostly in historical saves I got really pissed with the last version OOT23. They scratched the Cleveland Indians name even for old times. The correct logos of course can still be changed over the years, but having Cleveland Guardians pop up in 1980s or even earlier is just damn sick. This issue with trying to omit certain names and statues in US has gone insane IMHO. Are Americans really trying to change history or just trying to delete it to what they nowadays think should be the correct moral ground. That could end very very bad in the end. Who puts down the rules on this ?? Dangerous road to travel when omitting history and then finally forget it, only to then be ready to repeat it. This is games and shouldn't be in this problem. I wonder if they at OOTP might scratch the Negro Leagues next and having those players play real MLB before Jackie Robinson. How could they then celebrate his first year in baseball. History is what it is, just deal with it.
  2. Don't worry. I'm still working on it. Lots of adding and checking. I hope you understand that this is tailored into a start in 2002. Why that then ?. Because whatever year I decided to start in had to be filled with perhaps up to 200 new players (with real names) to stop the flood of fictional stars popping up. That's players that was omitted in the original file and some not even played one regular game, getting cut in August and such. The file also had a lot of errors that I stumbled on and had to be corrected. The year 2002 looked nice enough since that was the year NFL started to look as we see it today. Only a couple of teams changed towns since then, but kept their names, Chargers,Rams,Raiders. The structure are the same, and it gives us the longest run in save. The 2018-20 rookies will eventually be put in.
  3. I've played some the last couple of years, but it falls short on how the developers like to "answer" and adjust things. Think some stuff should easy to include that would make it more pleasant. Like the ability to just add player photos. Think they had it in the past but got stuck with some "owner" rights. They never understood they could just put a standard photo in the screens and make the gamers make photo mods. They made it possible to change names on players and teams, so why not make more things editavle. It is so very much against any type of modding so that's a shame. A very little company that have a great game in the making, but do not develop it further. Some small database edits that could have been done with mods, but no access to the databse makes it very restricted to the will and views of those developers. Some did some editor pgm on limited things, but the latest version of CC20 stopped any editing from that bloke, and even forced him to take that editor of any forums. They said gaming in multi-player world was cheating, so the single player gamers had to accept and not doing any editing. Insane thoughts. I just can't understand those views from whoever makes the game. 90% of all sport managers game present access to most things in the game, so maybe they just got something to hide "under the hood". I do think the game is still very much playable and got enough of graphic in my taste. Doesn't have to be grand scale EA style. IMHO a good sport manager game is all in the how stats are handled and presented. If playing with real named players one do tend to expect almost similar results in such games as in real-life. With totally fictional players it's always easier to make a good game since folks just can't argue about ratings and such.
  4. I'm on a mission updating that Historical file. For the moment I set my sight on getting a decent bigger player pool at the start of 2002 season. I picked that season since that's when the aligment are as we know it today. I will release shortly that file then I get on adding 2018,2019 and maybe 2020 new players. My aim is that it should be playable to start in 2002 and move forward with correct new draftees. My biggest problem is that the game when starting are messing huge with OVR numbers that are setup in the old file, and even on my new players. I hoped to fill all teams with 65-70 players and then have some 100 in the FA pool when one start and that looks good, with the bad thing the AI in-game setting up the start thinks some of those FA should be very good players, that's between 80-90. Hang in and it will pop up on Wolverine website.
  5. OK, I better chip in. Try to keep it short even if the story actually goes back to 70s. Coming from Sweden where really boardgames mostly are like Monopoly and Risk. I didn't get to know sportgames until I was in USA as a Collegestudent in the 70s. Then Strat-o-Matic and later APBA become addictive. Before that time I knew nothing about American Football or Baseball. I played the "real" football until my senior years in college, but even that game can end a career with wrong injuries. The first computer sportgames on C64 was not the way to go with sports. Then getting some early sportgames like Tony LaRussa and some forgotten NFL games on those first PCs helped a bit. But I kept on playing with cardgames on those American sports over the years until Championship Manager finally popped up on the REAL sport. EA Sport games I always found too much arcade style in those days, still think it. Like EAs NHL,Madden and FIFA versions. You step into the shoes of the player in those games having the ball and try to emulate his moves. Crazy. I'm not Messi, never been, so I prefer Messi to handle his playing himself. I love to manage him. So manager games with as close to reality is my game. OOTP and Football Manager have dominated the years but always looked for some decent games on NFL, NBA and the college versions of them. I had a look at DDS games some years back but they looked too thin. Still they have a long way to go, especially the football version ( a bit to reach FOFs deeper level I think). Latest iteration have focused a lot on how the menues are looking and the interface. The heart of the games needs to come along. OOTP went the other way I think. First the inside then a better and better interface then from pure text to 2D and some sort of 3D. I found this site when I decided to dig in on the DDS games last year. Nice to see the searchlight is also on several other interresting games here on GM-Games. That CT looks good and since I always followed The Kentucky Derby I just had to try out Starters Orders. Kind of nice game. Good to run a stable and just hope you get a new Secretariat. But of course I have to mod the racing schedule. Modding games are important in my plays Actually anything in managerstyle hits my heart, but beside the college versions I always tend to like playing historical saves and have strong feelings that the part must be present in a game. OOTP in that case is the King no doubt, but hoping to get DDS games on a nice track to get up to par. Trying hard to update and fix the historical-file in the DDS pro football version, but running in to several doubts and problems to get it right were I like it. Well I said it was difficult to keep it short. LOL
  6. Why make so many differences in setting up Download stuff. I've DL before and had no problems and as I see others too needed to swap to IE to get to download this file from the Download thread. Keep it the normal way, so folks don't have to twist around themselve to DL these very very nice additions to games. After all that work I'm sure you like to get it out to as many as possible. Some might give up when the click on Download doesn't work.

  9. This beats having to look at weird photos of players that one know. And collecting them all by your self is a monster job. so THANKS
  10. I guess I'm not alone, but beside some cool DL one might pick up one or two things. So the reason getting here could be useful down the line in more than one aspect.
  11. Looking good. Nice with ongoing support on the graphic side for these games.
