Good idea. The reason why playoffs is best of three and not best of seven is just to avoid a to long wait for managers that isn't playing games. This might be one way to make that wait a little more meaningful. Thanks for the suggestion.

You could just make it such that any affiliate player that gets traded will automatically go to the other team's affiliate. The other team can then make the call-up if they want. Sorta like how unsigned prospects remain unsigned prospects regardless of being traded...that's prob a bad example, but u k what I mean

It's depending on the player's level and reputation. But since the last update they're more willing now if their overall is in the lower 80's and below
They will go to the new parent team after the trade. It's up to the new team if they want to keep the player or assign him to the affiliate.
    :thumbs up:

As of now, no you can't sign a player directly to the affiliate. You must have enough space to sign the player to your own roster first. However, this may change. But basically I believe it's more realistic if you actually have enough space on your team to sign the player.

You can still let the player play in a different team and league during the prospect years. But then you can't choose in what tactic he will develop. By assigning him to your affiliate you ensure that his training style and game experience will develop according to your preferences and tactics.

Maybe we need to increase the cap a bit instead. But as @EXXEO mentioned, it's a matter of strategy. Some teams may choose to sign only established players to their main team leaving very little budget to the affiliates while others may want to have large base of talent playing within their organisation.

But I totally get your point, as of now almost no team has any space left under the cap. But then you're not supposed to fill the affiliates from top to bottom with your own players. That's why the affiliate signs its own players too.

Thanks for your input and suggestions!

Thanks for this Anders! Two possible bugs I saw after the update:

    1. Whenever I try to modify the training specifications for my main team, I get the Error page (this goes for players already on my team before the update and for newly signed players after the update). I've tried a hard refresh on my browser but still got the error.
    2. The AAHL statistics of players I signed after the update and sent down to my affiliate is showing up on my team page, in both the Statistics tab of the team page and the 'Team Leaders' box with Highest Goals/Assists/Points/etc. on the Home tab of the team page

I'm ok with the 10%. If there was no budget cost then people could fill two teams full of their own prospects with no regard to finances. In the long run, 10% of a players contract is very doable but some teams will need to make adjustments with the new systems in play. Let's say you want 6 prospects to go into each of your Affiliate teams and let's assume that we are talking GHL budgets. If you have 12 guys with $1 Million contracts that calculates out to a grand total of $1.2 Million in Affiliate costs (nearly the price of one decent player).

I think it also depends on Manager style. Some may want to take the long approach and pick up a lot of young, developing players to build a pool while some Managers may prefer the win now strategy. Either way, I feel Like the 10% contract cost is a good trade off.

The affiliate team will decide its own lineup based on what players it has available. So there are no playing time guaranteed. However affiliate teams will sign less of its own players than other normal non playable teams.

No change in UAT memory and CPU. But the simulator has gotten an update that should reduce database load.

Can't say for sure, but at least a week or two. There are still things to develop further but I'm thinking of making the official release in two steps. Mainly because the update also fixes the delayed simulation problems we see on the official servers.

The affiliate teams may sign its own players. Those players are not available for your team.

Assigned players will only count a tenth of their salary against your team's salary cap when assigned. Since all players are contracted by your team I feel that it needs to be one and the same budget.

As of now (this pre release) the whole salary must fit under the cap when signing a player. But it's in the backlog to introduce an "injury/reserve list" where players may be added when not fitting under the cap. Players on that list don't add to the total salaries of the team but will suffer an 2-3 day activation penalty when added to the roster. This is something that's not completely decided yet.

I know there was a time when players were in the decline but I'm pretty sure that was worked out, right? My goalie I just signed off of my prospect pool has been dropping over the past two seasons. He's 20 and has dropped a point a year since turning 18. His performance ratings have been great and has played a decent amount of time since 18. Any thoughts from anyone would be awesome - thanks and happy 4th of July weekend!
