We are the Lords of the Overtime! We are huffing and puffing and always find ourselves in an uphill battle, and if we don't lose in regulation time, then comes the lucky escape! I have a suspicion that there will be no lucky escape against the Sebastian Storm. They have a superior squad, and Dave "granpubah" Calloway is a very experienced manager with great tactical skill. I have learnt a lot about the game's tactical aspects just watching his team, and analyzing our battles. My team started the career in the LIHL, the Storm is a well settled SHL team, so it will be a great challenge.
Smashvilles4Real is going to travel to the Knights, they have a terrific team, so Smash need to dig deep if they want to steal some points!:) The Knights offered me Dawkins in a trade, and I feel some regret because I rejected the offer.
    That's an interesting trade:

From Knights (SHL) to Twisters (BHL)
    SHL level 1st round pick
    SHL level 2nd round pick
    SHL level 2nd round pick

Tomorrow in the early hours (here in Hungary) the Steam will have a big-big challenge, they are going to head-to-head with the Big Ducks. The Portland team found their captain and some magic formula and they won 4 games in a row! :) Packer the Steam's center has 14 points after 11 games (4+10), Tage Thomsen has 7+9 so he is the most effective attacker in the other team. This will be a great game, I am going to check the result after I wake up! :)

    That was a great match!
The Whalers had an excellent start, but the Big Ducks nearly came back from 4 goals behind. The Whalers have some excellent scandinavian players, and they didn't let the team down.
The Tigers had a hard fought victory in the overtime, and it was a real disappointment for me. Our finishing was really poor, we had a lot of chances, and we scored only one in the regulation time. We are going to badly miss these points at the end of the season.
Today we are going to lock the horns with the Whales. Where are the Whalers when we badly need them?
My favourite jersey is the second one, I have a nostalgic feeling when I look on them, it looks like the "old" Hartford Whales' jersey.
The Steam has an excellent squad, maybe there are some issues with the Teamwork. After some unlucky defeats, they had an invaluable away victory. This is a performance they can build on.

    Good looking jerseys! :)

I think the Big Ducks are going to win this derby, they have an excellent squad, Tyrod has one of the strongest team in this division, and they will have the home advantage. Off course I support for the Whalers, because I see the Ducks are preparing to fly away. :) I think they are not just Big Ducks, they are the Mighty Ducks... :)

Ohh.. didn't notice this thread here for a while.

Well thanks to Matt's pointers, I redesigned the jersey to a much darker color scheme, abandoning the orange completely. https://gameplanhockey.com/team?gpid=49-A

My preferred jerseys since I've gone through them all...

GHL: Deferiet Leopards (clean and distinctive jersey), Brass Castle Berzerkers and Missisauga Stealheads (both nice and easy to recognize)

SHL: Crabtree Defenders, Rocky Mountain House Owls (I don't mind bright if it's just stylish enough)

BHL: Summertown Sixpack (just because it's funny, yet kinda cool), Cape Girardeau Legends (Crisp and nice)

CHL: Finnegan Serpents (One of the few ones where highlight works better than shadow), Dustin White Devils (Cool in its simplicity)

IHL: Butte City Battlers (This league has more meh shirts than any other.. not sure if it's the high amount of computer managers maybe... didn't really check)

LIHL: Fillmore Hillcats, Camden Nighthawks, Torrington Thunderbolts, Ripon Scorpions (nicely distinctive color scheme and easily recognizable), Gravenhurst Hounds (the cool is here), Natashquan Assassins (just like this one for some reason), Goldville Knights (really nice and neat jersey), Harrow Lynx (simply because I think I know where the idea of this shirt comes from),

Some people like brighter, some darker and some in between.. I was looking at the jerseys and trying to think would I recognize one later. This is kind of moot as well since you tend to remember your worst/best rivalries in any case. A lot of very nice ones, but also a lot of jerseys that I think the manager just didn't care enough to put in the effort.

EDIT: I'm not big on New York Rangers, but as Matt pointed out on chat, the color scheme is not really widely represented, so I decided to run with it while it's still early. If the away jersey ever sees daylight, and I'm going to bug Anders about it until it does, I think using white base color with red highlights spiced with blue numbers and collar will fit quite nicely.

Edit 2: ET2018, your jersey looks good, but it doesn't really make me go ooooh wow! My hometown team used grey jerseys at one point and it's just really doesn't kick me as a main color. I'm just one opinion though. It's very clean and crisp, so if I learn to hate your team enough, I'm sure it's as great of a color choice as any.

Edit 3: Pullman T-Birds, I got you marked as an all time enemy. You took my old logo before I got here! Can't wait to meet you on ice. Fairplay tactic = ridiculously and overly violent!

Balazs reacted to Arukas in Undrafted, yet Unshakeable: The True Underdog Story of Yan Yurevich
"Probably Dimitir Evtuh. The way (he) could move around and put the puck in the net was amazing. I want to score goals like him."

A young Yan Yurevich, speaking through a translator, gave that response when asked who he idolized while growing up in Belarus. The budding forward missed his first year of action with the CAHL North Sydney Silent Pirates, but he continued to stay optimistic and looked forward to make an impact in his second year. He was happy to have another opportunity to play after going undrafted. The few scouts that looked his way noted his impressive physique, but felt he didn't have great hands and that he was too slow to make it in the pros, even at the LIHL level. They were about to be proven wrong.

    LIHL

Yurevich finished his second year with North Sydney, tallying 6 goals and 13 assists in 50 games, but only managing to have 11 minutes of ice time per game. When asked if he was disappointed with that fact, Yan replied, "A little, yeah. I want the chance to prove myself like everyone else does. The team always comes first, but I feel like I can do more to help."

With Yan's contract expiring, it was unknown whether or not he'd get another opportunity. Until...

The Michigan Center Fury had just come off of a 14th place finish in the LIHL, after relocating from the San Antonito Black Bears. "We were just looking for some new blood, something to put a spark back in this team", the GM said, addressing the need to add younger talent to an aging roster. There must have been something about Yurevich that caught the attention of the newly-appointed GM, because the first off-season move he attempted was to sign the young power forward. Without hesitation, Yurevich accepted. "I can't believe it, I've loved hockey my whole life, and now I can continue to live my dream". The contract was a two-year deal, so while there was some job security, the message was clear: this is your shot, now go out there and prove it.

    Years One and Two

Yurevich's first year in the LIHL proved to be not what he'd hoped, scoring 5 goals and 19 points in an injury-shortened 46 games, all while only logging 9 minutes per game. "We wanted to get his feet wet, I know he was unhappy with the approach, but we had to ease him in while working out some other aspects of this game", the Fury GM said of his rookie's performance. While the Fury improved and made it into the playoffs, they failed to promote. Yurevich was a non-factor, registering zero points in three games and only averaging 6 minutes of ice time.
Yurevich, visibly upset with the way the season went and the lack of ice time, responded by saying, "If they're only going to play me on the 3rd and 4th lines, I guess I'll just have to be the best *expletive* 3rd liner there is".

The Fury had another productive off-season, acquiring Gabryel Nolasco from the Minnedosa Musketeers for a 1st round pick, adding a much-needed 1st-line center. With Yurevich's commitment to a more defensive style, he was given a chance on the 3rd line with roommate James Dunkelberger. "Dunks is a good guy. He's helping me with English but his Belarusian needs a lot of work", Yurevich chuckled. "Yan talks a lot of crap", Dunkelberger joked after a game. "We're always competing because we're on separate penalty kill lines. He always tells me 'I got this' before we go out there on the PK, and most of the times he's right".

    He was right.

The Fury finished the season with a record 158 points, clinching an IHL berth. Yurevich played in all 60 games, scoring 15 goals and 38 points, with a +34 on the season. The question was: Had Yurevich done enough to earn a new contract?

Not trying to throw shade here because I'm sure the manager was actively trying to accomplish this feat, but the Finnegan Beasts of the LIHL have successfully become the first team in Biscuit to finish 0-0-0-60.  After finishing 1-0-0-59 in three of the four previous seasons, the goal was finally accomplished.  I assume that is extremely hard to do, especially in LIHL.  Congratulations.

    Hello all.

I started playing in the middle of season 12, taking over a BHL team, which was the only available team on a slow world. The team was a mess, heading towards relegation at high speed, but barely managed to avoid it and keep my spot in BHL. I'm still learning, building and experimenting with things to see what works for me and what does not. Hoping to solidify my spot in the BHL during seasons 13-14, and then slowly make my way up once I have more necessary pieces to build a winning team.

I have some experience from manager games. Spent a good while playing Good Hockey, migrated to Hockey Dynasty, and from the ruins of that game I ended up here.

My team is Kingston Jayhawks,  and no, jayhawk is not a bird.

If you are interested in my opinion, I think it's not a cheat. I don't say that I like it, and I think I will never use this trick, because I like to trade with human controlled team. I don't care much about the success and the achievements, because I am here to have fun. I know that if somebody uses the weak points of the system to earn success it can ruin other players fun. I care about other people gaming experience and I want to be a part of this community, so I play fair and square.
If you use this trading method then this is your decision, and I say again it is not a cheat in my opinion. I don't say I like it, but I can accept it, but don't wait that everybody will like it.

    Hi!

My league (Lower Iron League) is also very exciting. The Michigan Center Fury has an enormous point advantage, but there is a fierce battle for the 2nd position. The Edgewood Reapers, the Prince Rupert Raiders, the La Marque Topcats and my team the Torrington Thunderbolts competing for this position. After 45 matches the Reapers and the Raiders had 90 points and the other two had 89...

This is my first season, but this game gives me a great experience!

The Fury is the strongest team in the league, I think they will give a great challenge for the other teams in the Iron League next year, Nolasco and Arena leads the charge while the giant Jussilla blocks the attacks, this team has also the best offensive defenseman.

The Reapers has a very good roster with great veteran players.and with an also veteran manager. Sennevile is a great goaltender, and he is helped by the league's best teamwork and winner instict. They are very strong as a team.

The Raiders has three excellent players Germain, Thelland and Cape. Cape (like Nolasco) is a Bronze League level player, this season he has a lot of problems with injuries, but he is a terrific defender with excellent attacking skills.

The Topcats has a very experienced manager, and they have a very solid defence led by Zemancik, a great offensive defenseman.

The Minnesota City Mustangs is a great danger too. They play a cruel physical hockey with a giant center. This team can be very dangerous and they can also reach the 2nd spot.

My team is the youngest in this league (and maybe in the Biscuit world), and I must spend a lot of time with thinking about my lineups if I want to give a challenge for these excellent teams and managers. I am a rookie but my experience with other manager games can give my team a great boost.

I wish good luck to you all for the next matches!
