I started playing Statis Pro tabletop baseball in 1988 and still play it today...love that game. OOTP is fun, but I still like the old table top games (I'm 45 years old).

I had college basketball sim game I found in the early 1990's. It was on floppy disk. It was simple, text sim 'black and green screen", no graphics and a lot of fun. i really don't remember the name of it. You could edit/make up players and pick any team in D1 to be. You could make the tounrney, etc. It wasn't fancy with the graphics, recruiting, calling players etc. like Wolverine Studios college basketball game of today, but at the  time, it was really fufilling. I took over a team and played a series of seasons. To make it more in depth, I would write articles about the team as the season progressed as if I was the beat wI liriter. It was a lot of fun. Been hooked on sports sim games all these years. I enjoy games like NCAA14 and the Show, etc. but I like sim games more. It's fun to be the coach and try and lead a team to glory.

Edit: I just remembered....I wanted a college basketball table top game so bad (before personal computers were common) that I created my own (using Statis Pro Pro Basketball as the skeleton). It was really fun creatting the game and I made it in depth so you got plus/minus to stats for home court, coaching ability, type of defense called etc. I made a few teams (Cincinnati Bearcats, Memphis Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines) and FINALLY got it completed and played the game and it played out really well, was smooth and the outcomes were 'realistic'. I started playing my own game a lot but it took a lot of time to create teams (used real stats). I got a hold of Avalon Hill at some point to see if they would be interested but their reply was, "computers are going to make table top games a thing of the past". Ha. That was in the mid 1990's. I don't think they were right on that. Oh well...it was a lot of fun.

The BBCF forum on Greydog is just not popular any more. You can search for old threads and sometimes find one with a link to a mod only to find out the link doesn't work anymore. Its frustrating. Icy and Outlaw used to make KILLER mods for BBCF. I wish they would do an updated one with endzones, midfield logo's, etc. I also wish there was a way to get the real stadium images in the game (like OOTP does). I'm not good enough to do stuff like that or I would.

Probably personal preference. I like BBCF better for several reasons. But DDS: College Football is fun and because its newer, there are more mods out there. For example, somebody has created the endzone graphics for a bunch of difference conferences (not all). These are the little things that make the games more realistic and fun.

I play it. I play vs the AI. It's a really fun game. The $35 gets you the game in full. It's not a 'by the season' fee.

It's a great game. Very indepth. The recruiting is fun (you can even cheat and offer players cars, money, etc. and you can get caught and put on probation). You control every aspect of running a college basketaball team. You can coach the games or let them sim. It's a great game.

I had a MacBook Pro and asked the same thing. I even emailed Greydog Software and Wolverine Studios (they both have fantastic college basketball sim games) and asked them if they had any plans to make their games for Mac (like Out of the Park Baseball does) and they both said no plans. I eventually gave my MacBook Pro to my youngest daughter and went out and bought a PC. Yes, I bought a PC JUST to play DDS: College Basketball, DDS: College Football, and Bowl Bound College Football.....ha

Yes, you can edit players and coaches in BBCF really easily. You go to Options and then Edit Players or Edit coaches. It's really simple. You can edit players in DDS: College Football but you have to jump through a couple hoops first.

OOTP is amazing. Love every aspect of this game. I also really like DDS: College Basketball. It's really fun and I usually end up offering some recruit a car to get him, lol.

I was thinking about it. I downloaded the demo this past weekend. I found this site because there is an updated (from feb 2017) real world mod for it here., after I created an account and tried to download the file it said I did not have permission because I don't have enough posts to download things from the site. How many posts does one need to make to be able to download mods etc. from this site?

Regarding BBCF...I have DDS: College Football and from what I remember about bowlbound, i like bowlbound better. You?
