Well thats rare, but if you dont trust online payments you should probably not do it. Personally I have experienced only positive things shopping online. My orginal point was that 2e mothly fee is nothing no matter how poor or rich the person is. Yes there are porbably children also playing this game, as a father i dont see any problem if my kid would ask me to pay 2e per month for a game what she really enjoys playing. Every parent might not share my opinion but you can always ask and have a conversation. And seriosly we are living 2018, online puraches are every day life for many ppl. But ofc you are free to use your money how ever you want.

But to be honest if this game is something you really enjoy playing, the 2€ / month fee is not much. I can promise that every person here , not matter how rich or poor are using that 2€ for something completly useless... You can pick up empty soda cans in 15 minutes to make up that 2€ mothly fee. And if you really like this game you would do it. (just saying)

Jiihee reacted to Paul T in Trade Deadline earlier in the season
For possible fall release... I think having a trade deadline earlier in the season would be beneficial for a few reasons.  I will use Days 55 as an example (which falls around Game 50).

Also to go along with this suggestion, I would also recommend that those players who are "happy with their current contract", be open to re-negotiating or flat our refusing to re-sign around Day 45 (around Game 40).

    1) First, I think it would add some excitement to the game mid-season, giving managers another milestone to look forward to.  Preparing for the draft is exciting.  Silly season/free agency is exciting.  The playoff race toward the end of season is exciting + actual playoffs.  Why not add something in the middle for managers to look forward to?

Around Day 45, players are either willing to re-sign with your team or refuse to re-sign.  You then have 10 days to get your trades in before Day 55.  Personally, I think it would be an exciting 10 days of managers trying to wheel and deal before the deadline hits.  Then all managers must live with their decisions for the remaining 10 regular season games and through the playoffs.

    2) Second, it would require managers to be proactive and take calculated risks based on their expected finish.  It would eliminate teams from making those final day trades to stack their teams for relegation - and would also not allow managers to trade expiring contracts on the final day of the season, which caused an issue this past season.

    3) Finally, this is how professional sports are run - and I know that as a fan, I get really excited around the trade deadline every year in anticipation of what trades will be made.

    Thoughts??

Just to comment on this point here - multiple teams working together for the benefit of a single team is not fair competition, separate managers or not. If there is a closer bond between managers, like family, it can't be a factor in trades.

While probably everyone agrees helping out family members is a great thing, in competitive online sports manager games that help should be limited to giving advice etc. instead of direct aid, for example biased trades.

tldr: For reasons of fairness towards other managers, "family" is not a valid reason to base transactions on in a game such as this.

This is an interesting point you made. While I wouldn't condone that sort of behaviour, I would definitely try to trade out my players if they're decent and say they are not interested in re-signing. Otherwise, I would lose my investment in the player just going to free agency.

It backs up the argument in one of my threads that says the trade deadline should be around day 45 or 50, and that renewing a player's contract should be possible even if the player is 'happy'. That way if you make that mistake, you still have 10 days for the player to consider a new offer.

Option B could be a clause that says no trades on players with less than a minimum time on their contract, or that players must decided within 2 days of an offering, to help reduce this occurring.

Wou, something just happened to me what i have never experienced in this game before.

Today when the trade window opened again i got offer what looked pretty good trade for me.  So i accepted the offer but my mistake was not to check the details of the player carefully. What ended up happening was that the player contract was ending and i didn't have the time to renew her contract and now the player is in the free agent's. The player what i traded for him was actually pretty talented young lad and for sure is going to be GHL level at some day.

Like i said it was my mistake for not checking the details of the trade offer more carefully but to be honest i never thought that any manager here would be so dirty that he would even try to offer a player for someone whos contract is ending and it was not renew'd.

Before this i have had only positive experiences about trading with other ppl but this case just blew my mind. Meaby its better to stop trading and communicating with other managers to prevent something like this happening again.

There should be a block to prevent managers to offer players for other managers who's contract is about to end after youth draft and end of the season, cause there will be always someone who will abuse these kinds of things at the expense of others.

I wont start pointing fingers but if someone is interested about this trade its not hard to check from transactions day 77.

I think it is just more realistic that every player cant be 99 in every category. Even if he is a top player there should always be 1 or 2 category where the player cant hit 99.  I don't know if this is a good example but Sidney Crosby 53% Win percentage rank 33 in face-off's. Many think that he is the best player in the world but to be realistic he cant be the best in everything he does. And I personally like this game cause it is meant to be realistic. Just my humble opinion.  But i agree that many centers has low face-off skill, that also lets the good face-off players shine. And this case is same for every manager so i don't really think that anyone is getting any benefits about this situation.

The one big thing why I like this game is that the overall of your players is only a small part how to build a winning team. Here is a couple pointers what you should always keep in mind when you are building a team. Make sure your players fits for the offensive and defensive tactics you have chose to play. Also your players needs to fit for the roles you have assinged them, like sniper needs good shooting and playmaker needs good puckhandling and passing. Try avoid red traits if possible. Also strong goalie helps you get much needed extra points. Size and traits are very important for goalie, not just a high overall rating. Those are the basick thing what I always keep in mind when I am getting new players and for me it has worked great. Never I had a high overall players compared to top teams but like i said overalls are small part of building a team what can succes.

New free agency, same frustration. It seems that most of the young players are still going to higher leagues with BIG TWO WAY contracts and just wait 20-30days and they will be traded to lower league for draft picks and hot prospects. Its not that fun to try to sign 80-85ov youngish players to SHL when GHL teams offer them 2 or even 3mil contracts (same goes with every league). Frustrating to try to build team with 1yr contract washed up veterans. Its not going to change soon but i just had to vent once again. Cheers and good luck for all.

It seems that the assistants report not loading is related to this, since I also had to scratch my player and now the assistants report loads normally for the game where Fitzpatrick was scratched (and still doesn't load for those where he was in the lineup).

Hope this gets resolved soon. It really sucks playing without your top pairing defenceman.

When i started This game i were in IHL league. By studying the game and trying to understand how the game engine works i was able to raise in GHL fairly quick.

Big part why i was able to succeed is because there was good selection of players in FA, and i knew what kind of players i need and want in my team. Don't get me wrong, i have never had a team that was good in player overalls. I have always been underdog by looking only the overalls. But in my opinion this game is much more than player overalls (were). Now the Fa is full off old players and players with super bad traits. If there would be a manager who would be able to climb to higher leagues knowledge wise but he is unable to do so because there is no players left to build even somewhat decent team, why would he bother to continue playing this game? Should he wait 4 seasons to get the players he needs from youth draft? and wait 4 more seasons that they develops enough to get in the team?

Managers who have played longer should not be awarded by cost of the lower league teams.

It would be great if there would be more leagues in the future, and much more teams in one server. But making that happen we need new players who wants to stick and commit in this game for long term.
Its hard for me to think that anyone new would like to continue playing this game when they know that most likely they get ass kicked for the first 12 moths. And starting from LIHL climb to GHL looks unreal.

I really like the affiliate idea, and the fact that i can hold my drafted prospects and don't need to let them go in FA only because they weren't nearly ready in main team is awesome. But at the same time how the affiliate system works atm favors GHL way too much, i feel like i am winning by cheating now. And the fact that i cant even compete with another same league manager for FA players if he is getting the player in affiliate and i am not is REALLY negative.

Suggesting a waiver system is hardly a nerf to the affiliate system or a protest for something new though is it? It is a real life solution to an exactly similarly identified problem in real life. Without a waiver system you risk there being less parity with more players potentially being signed and then sent to the affiliate teams of a few teams and left there until needed. It happened in the NHL until waivers were introduced. Personally I'd rather not see a Montreal like dynasty built upon always having a wealth of talent to draw upon due to hoarding talent. I'd rather see a Detroit like dynasty where it is sustained success through great management. Having a waiver system prevents hoarding of talented players above a certain age. Preventing the hoarding of players creates more parity. More parity creates better competition. Better competition makes the game better due to it being more fun to play. A more fun game will be more likely to attract more players.

I'm not saying that Anders needs to get this out the door asap but I don't think that this could be left alone for an extended time due to the faster leagues.

Also in regards to it being relatively easy to rise through the ranks that was true back when AI littered the leagues. However most will not be able to do that now with more human managers. Skilled and clever managers will pretty much be able to no matter what. I'd love to give it a go with a second team but I don't want to create essentially 2 profiles.

They are a vast improvement in the sense of a team can develop its own prospects. However much beyond that they kind of are overkill. A team shouldn't need 6+ reserve players like a few teams are going after. It is also pointless to have a good reserve team. That said some people find it important to have a good reserve team. It isn't a massive problem that needs fixing. It is just a nuisance for a team to hoard a lot of players that they essentially end up not using. The proposed waiver system is a way to get around the hoarding.

Waivers. Anybody sent to an affiliate above say 25 goes to waivers. Anybody of the same league or below interested sends in a claim. The team highest in the claim order gets the player. Very simple and straightforward.

Therein lies the problem. They have to make an offer. Knowing your trading tendencies your going to want something more than a throwaway contract. Not saying that you wouldn't make a deal like that happen more that others may be doing it to try to force trades for players. You know. Gather enough players to try to force a trade or get all the quality players and then try to work deals with lower teams. It is only a bad thing to have a high league team signing all of the quality players for lower leagues no matter if they try to trade them down or not. There is no reason that a SHL team should not be able to send a waiver claim for Baroni on my team, Sharp on yours or one of the many on Pegasus who seemingly can't offer enough contracts to FAs. Nobody should be able to collect players above a certain age (again say 24 or 25) and then without care send them to their affiliates without them going through waivers.

It isn't so much a bad idea so long as the number is high enough but then what is high enough? Too low and your too restricted on developing your own prospects and nobody wants that. Too high and it doesn't matter. Ultimately you don't want to restrict the number of prospects a team has to choose from. That is just bad. It is the signing or holding onto of 25+ yo players that can play big roles on lower league teams (like Sharp on the Vandals for one example) that is not playing for the team they are contracted to that is the problem. That is what you want to prevent. The hoarding of non prospects and the best way to do that is a waiver system where someone can put a claim on a player that a team is basically holding on to and just sending down to their affiliates.

Why would it be a bad idea? It would let us control best of our prospects and have to decide which to keep, instead of just hoarding players with salaries that lowerleague teams can't offer for eg. 5x and still paying them half the salary (5x*0,1=0,5x) than a lowerleague would have had they gotten him without you, because they were assigned to aahl.

Rest of them will never be in line with GHL. IHL will always be handicapped, because of this compared to others, since they can't offer lowerleague players like the rest and GHL teams will never have upperleague teams taking their players to their affiliates.

and why should someone keep their GHL place over somebody just because they have played longer and can hoard players from all the others?
